Skeddadle Pennine Bridleway
Hi
This is a multiday trip, almost all off road route in the north of England (6 Riding days). looking at a map you will see large towns nearby but you will not be aware of that on the trail, its all farmland.
You will be staying in good rural hotels, so comfortable, quiet, good food
The route is off road over 95% of the way (over 50% singletrack) and never on main roads.
Trip is fully supported with riding guides and a support vehicle for coffee, lunch and spares.
Fully trained guides are a big help on any trip but knowing the route is a huge help
I would recommend a full suspension MTB for the trip, its mostly chunky trail with rollable descents (with care) and some flowy sections.
Could not be much better really, I will be doing this one again

We could not be more delighted with our experience with Frankie, Ben, Josh and the rest of the team for the excellent Coast and Castles tour. Their flexibility, attentiveness, and thoughtfulness was invaluable.

Smooth operator
We’ve had two holidays through this company this year and I have to say that both were fantastic! Everything from route planning, hotel booking, bike hire, luggage transfer and what to look out for en-route is done for you and well thought out. We wouldn’t have had the cultural and carefree experience that we’d have hoped for if we’d tried to do this ourselves. Both trips were beyond our expectations and we are definitely planning further trips through this company.

I did the Coast to Coast ride from Whitehaven to Newcastle/ Tyne mouth.
Had a brilliant time. Great group of people. Good fun and loads of laughs.
We had some nice weather which helps. Our leaders Ian and Craig made us very welcome and helped us stay safe. They were very helpful leaders.
Some steep sections to climb and some nice long descents on the rides, so a good balance. I used an E-Bike so that made it easier to get around. The accommodation and meals were very good. All in all very worthwhile. Good value. A nice achievement.

Coast to coast northern England
This was my first trip with Saddle Skedaddle and I loved every minute! I have been on two other cycling trips with different companies and this compared very well, also good value for money.
The arrangements were very straight forward before the trip and any questions I asked were promptly answered. The two guides Ian and Craig were very nice and very helpful, I loved the ride with GPS routes. I didn’t know anyone else on the trip but they were certainly a fun group! The scenery was beautiful, If you’re not too young and a person who doesn’t ride hills all the time then an e-bike is probably the way to go. The rental e-bikes are better than the ones I have rented in the past.
Now looking to book another trip with this company and plan to tell other cycling friends about it!

Cotswolds, Burton-on-the-Water
This was my fifth Skedaddle trip. The communications and Ride Leaders were of a very good standard, as usual. The HF Holidays hotel was a new experience with organised evening activities. Not expected but enjoyable once I decided to participate. The routes were challenging in places with rolling Cotswold hills. Once we were out of the towns away from the holiday traffic the cycling was excellent. The views and villages are best seen from the saddle of a cycle.

Would not have been able to do this without Skedaddle!
We are so happy with Saddle Skedaddle. Every single detail turned out perfectly. Their communication was consistent. The routes they provided with Ride with GPS worked seamlessly and we enjoyed every single lodging organized by them. Hope we can do this again sometime. We are in our late 70's, so we would not have been able to do this without their help.

French Alps: Mont Ventoux to Alpe d’Huez
I had done this ride twice before, but looked forward to the route changes (necessary over the first two days) which added variety. Thanks to a marathon event nearby (not us!), we had the opportunity to ascend Mt Ventoux a different way, following literally in Petrarch’s footsteps. I’m sure he would have joined us on the ride, if that option had been available in 1336. Fantastic views all along the road and of course at each mountain summit – not to mention the crazy descent off the Galibier: ridden by the Tour de France the previous week.
The hire bike was fine, lightweight and with extra low gears for the long climbs. Accommodation was excellent – from a chamber d’hote to a large chalet-style ski lodge; evening meals were either at the hotels or at restaurants a short walk away. Look for tartiflette on the menu!
Our three guides provided excellent back-up and advice, with interactive route maps and daily briefings.
Already I’m thinking about my next holiday with Saddle Skedaddle . . .

We did the Way of the Roses Ride…
We did the Way of the Roses Ride Morecambe to Bridlington Ride across Lancashire and Yorkshire... Amazing Countryside. Lucky with the weather only rained on the last day ride from Driffield to Bridlington. The Saddle Skedaddle staff always met us on time and were there to help when we needed them. Never been to York before and ended up there 3 nights... great place to walk around and see the walled city.

Skedaddle make a cycling holiday a joy
Skedaddle make a cycling holiday a joy. They take care of all the practicalities, so you can focus on cycling and soaking up the countryside. I recently completed the Caledonian Way and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The guides were excellent, the bike (I hired one) was top quality, the accommodations were great and I will definitely be using them again.

Hadrian's Wall adventure!
Our 6 night self guide holiday with Saddle Skedaddle was excellent. The staff were positive and helpful before we set off. Our luggage was reliably transferred and magically reappeared at each stop. The accommodation was excellent and the staff at the overnight stays extremely helpful and supportive. We had a gear breakdown on one of the e bikes and a very helpful and capable engineer found us and took the bike away for a while , leaving us at a Roman fort Museum, and later returned the bike , all fixed, at a very reasonable price. There needs to be better training with the navigation systems before departure but the team were always on hand when we rang in for support. We met up with the team at the HQ in central Newcastle where they were so supportive and treated us to lunch! All this was done on a 6 month knee replacement and everything went brilliantly. We will be looking at other adventures with Saddle Skedaddle! Thankyou to all in the team!

Amazing guided cycle tour
We had a fantastic experience on our guided cycle tour of Scotland. Great guides, who looked after us so well and were there ready to help with anything. Very professional!
The booking office was great at keeping us informed about anything to do with the trip leading up to departure. Also very professional and helpful.
We would thoroughly recommend Saddle Skeddadle and cannot wait to book our next trip with them.

Via Claudia - guided
We went on the 8 day trip from Lermoos in Austria to Lake Garda in Italy. It was our first Skedaddle trip and our two guides were brilliant, catering for the whole group and ensuring we had the best time. The cycling was hard but doable, the scenery was fantastic. Mostly on cycle paths or quiet roads. If I was being picky some of the restaurants and accommodation particularly in Austria were basic but otherwise the trip met all our expectations and more.

Great service and support
This was a Lochs and Glens five-day self-guided trip.It was challenging and the weather ranged from rain to sunshine. We have cycled Vietnam and Morocco and this was by far the best trip because we were able to engage the locals,
The hotel selection was excellent. Great breakfasts. I flew in from Cleveland, Ohio and my daughter from Toronto, Ontario Canada. The local drivers are very respectful of cyclists and the national cyclist trails were well signed and maintained. The Ride with GPS App is a must and a first for us. Thank you Saddle.
The guidance provided by Saddle met our needs throughout the whole trip and thereafter. Alison at Saddle is a gem. We will be back for more adventures with Saddle.

Saddle Skedaddle - we keep returning!
We just returned from our tenth cycle tour offered by Saddle Skedaddle, a tour of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. We have had the pleasure of cycling in eight different countries, spanning the distance from Italy to Norway. We keep returning to Saddle Skedaddle for our cycling vacation due to the outstanding service provided by the company. Online information on each tour has given us a good idea of what to expect. Booking is quite straight forward. The information we receive just prior to the start of the trip has been extremely useful to help us to prepare for the trip. They even phone you just before the trip to make sure all is in order. Hotel accommodations are generally quite comfortable. Our comparison of costs among other cycle tour companies have shown Saddle Skedaddle provides good value for your money.
Most importantly, once the tour in underway, the guides are consistently wonderful. They professionally keep all cyclists, regardless of experience and fitness level, safely on course, provide tasty refreshments and lunches, and are a source of much interesting information regarding sites along the way. There is something particularly special about rolling into your lunch spot beside a beach, with a wonderful lunch spread already prepared for your arrival by the tour guides.
We can highly recommend Saddle Skedaddle for your cycling vacations!

Hadrian’s Wall
We have just finished our first Skeddadle ride which was a 3-day ride along Hadrian’s Wall. A great well organised trip. We appreciated the pre-trip support from Ben and the team which all helped to make this a really memorable journey.

Rebellion Way
First time this route had been done and guides were not familiar with all of it - as a result some of the terrain was terrible and we had been told road bikes would be ok - well they certainly weren't - we had mud and I mean mud, sand, gravel, grass and woodland tracks. It is classed as a leisure ride but I wouldn't say getting back to the hotel at 6pm was a leisure ride. Weather was terrible on first day - torrential rain and high winds and as a result very dangerous at times - feel common sense and health and safety should have prevailed and maybe a shorter route would have been a better idea.
