What an incredible adventure
What an incredible adventure! We have just returned from Colombia after an amazing trip cycling from Bogota to Cartagena. The cycling was tough but awesome, the views were amazing and the support was outstanding. We had more than our fair share of drama, with delayed luggage (both bikes!) and hospital visits but nothing was too much trouble for the team. By the time we arrived from the airport at the first hotel, arrangements for hire bikes for us were underway, so we didn't miss out on any cycling time.
We chose this trip as our honeymoon, knowing that we wanted the experience of a lifetime, and that's what we got. We have the most amazing memories (including of cycling up Alto de Letras, which also goes down as the toughest day of my cycling life!).We are already looking ahead to planning another Saddle Skedaddle trip!

We went with Skedaddle to Colombia a while back and it was an incredible experience.
Skedaddle sorted hire bikes out for us (we were mid-backpacking around south america), found amazing places to say, amazing backdrops, looked after us food-wise (we're vegetarian) and were just brilliant throughout.

pleasant cycling experience
My experience this weekend cycling in the Peak District was incredible! I will not hesitate to recommend Saddle Skedaddle to my friends/colleagues.
The customer service was really professional from the outset, with Matt promptly clarifying any questions or concerns that we had regarding the holiday.
There was the option to drive over to the hotel, or meet at Derby station for the free van transfer. We also had the option to tailor our hotel room preferences and other cycling equipment as required.
Unless intending to bring our own, all cycle equipment was provided (obviously not personal clothing) and Alistair and Paul, our two instructors over the weekend, prepared a lovely spread of lunch, drinks and snacks throughout our journey. There was a support vehicle with us the whole time.
Dinner was 3 courses at the hotel.
Both HF Holidays and Saddle Skedaddle staff were very accommodating with the group’s dietary requirements which was extremely appreciated.
The holiday consisted of 2 trails (one per day) and I participated in 1. The first 2.5 hours I found difficult because of hill ascents and descents, but the remaining 5 hours was very pleasant and enjoyable as we sped downhill and on flatter ground, all the while admiring the view.
I was really naive and had underestimated the level of difficulty of the routes. Being unexperienced I found it challenging, but to a regular cyclist the difficulty level would be as expected.
I was lucky to cycle with a friendly, supportive and humorous group of people. However, I would like to commend Paul and Alaistair for their expert advice, kindness and support throughout the ride. I was so nervous but it helped that they broke the route into smaller parts and explained each in turn before we came to cycle it - making the hill climbs less daunting.
There was a mix of abilities in our group but Paul and Alistair succeed in setting the “right” pace throughout.
Anyone can find this route in the Peak District and cycle it, but the experience is only beyond great when you’ve two enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors supporting you! Thank you for everything!
What an amazing adventure!
I wanted to share my experience with Skedaddle having done Italy's Grand Traverse South to North cycling trip this May. It started badly when my bike did not arrive in Bari when I did. I quickly emailed the Skedaddle team to let them know and ask for any assistance as I was getting picked up the next day. The Skedaddle team and their guides Radu and Wally were superb. They arranged for me to ride a spare bike for the 3 days while I waited to hear from the airline. They went out of their way to help me retrieve my bike from the airport when it finally arrived. Although we did not have the best weather (rainiest May in history) the guides made the trip! They both had a great sense of humour and made sure everyone was looked after. I think we all had a great trip and I met some amazing cyclists from all over the world. I would definitely recommend them.

Super trip
I did the Costa Rica mountain bike trip with my son. We had such a good time and I would highly recommend it. The guide Juan Carlos was excellent, very knowledgeable, patient and good fun. Amazing country and you see everything so much better by bike. The food was really good and considering how much was included in the price (hotels, food, rafting, park fees) I thought the holiday was good value for money. Will use this company again and thanks for great time.

Saddle Skidaddle to Tuscany
I went on a Saddle Skidaddle holiday with my wife. We went to Tuscany in Italy. The holiday was very well organised, we were looked after from meeting our transfer from the airport, through to the transfer back again. We were self guided and found the directions very easy to follow; they took us through some fantastic towns and natural parks. I particularly liked exploring the hill top, fortified towns, that we stayed in; the hotels were also great.
I'm going to start looking for my next trip.

Unsafe and untrained - Skedaddle
This group advertises cycling holidays in the UK and abroad. What they don’t advertise is how unequipped and untrained their staff are when things go wrong. I fell off my bike after hitting a pothole. I sustained an open, shattered elbow. Their tour guides, did not have a clue what to do, any plan, how serious my injury was or where a hospital was. They left me in agony and bleeding in their van whilst they had a picnic with the other cyclists. Telling the group I was okay. I wasn’t. Thank god for another cyclist who was a nurse and came to the van to check on me. She took charge and only then did they start to pack up the picnic. It was surreal how badly I was treated. They tried to give a speech at the end of the picnic and the other cyclists had to stop them. It took Skedaddle nearly 3 hours from the accident to get me to hospital or any painkillers/ care. I needed emergency surgery. Please do not use this company- like the other reviewer- they quickly change when things go wrong. I have never received an apology.
Unfortunately- unless regulation is bought in or laws are changed, this will happen again. If anyone else has suffered with this company, please get in touch as I am absolutely committed to raising awareness about their shambolic care. Very quick to forget you. Don’t believe their adverts or PR. -

Not Saddle Skedaddle but SKEDIDDLE
Booked a cycling holiday in Croatia through them with Island Hopping. The holiday on the boat was good fun, but discovered that Saddle Skedaddle had loaded the price by a couple of hundred pounds over anyone who booked directly with Island hopping. As they get a commission from Island Hopping I felt it was unreasonable of them to charge a significant sum on top of the ticket price.
Spoke to them when I came back and they just dug their heels in, justifying their surcharge with several very lame excuses.
So be aware if you book through Skediddle you might be charged extra for nothing. Go direct and save money.
I suppose Caveat Emtptor.
