Bottles break and company doesn’t care

I consistently purchase products from this store and have had a great experience. Recently, I tried a new product and the bottle broke while traveling. I asked the company to replace it and had a really poor experience with their customer service department who was defensive and not solutions orientated. What a terrible experience.

Not impressed with staff's level of clinical skill

My physician sent an order to this company. When I spoke with someone about the order, the first data that chose to collect was mailing address and credit card info. Then the person I spoke to asked me list all my allegies! I was told that was necessary, because if there were any allergies to the medication, they wouldn't fill the order. (Wonder how difficult it could be to get a refund when THAT happens!) So, they offered to allow me to speak with their pharmacist. He didn't seem familiar enough with the drug, so I didn't bother to ask him about its chemical structure, but instead asked him if he could tell me about contraindications for the drug. He immediately copped out by saying that would be 'giving medical advice." It's NOT! Most drugs come with this information. "Drug inserts (package inserts) provide essential FDA-approved safety information, including contraindications—specific situations, diseases, or patient demographics where a drug should not be used due to high risk of harm." I pressed the issue and said that "No," it was not 'giving medical advice' but giving basic details on a drug that a pharmacist should know about! My frustration peaked and I raised my voice (which I do regret), but before I could apologize, he hung up on me! Since when are pharmacists no longer permitted to read a product insert to a patient??? He also didn't seem to appreciate my pointing out that they shouldn't only be interested in knowing drug allergies, but rather about ALL the drugs that I have been prescribed, including those that could potentially pose a risk for interaction. Also, some compounding or limited distribution drug pharmacies have systems where physicians must send them the patient's medical and prescription history BEFORE the drug is filled, yet they don't. Perhaps the drug prescribed is one that doesn't require that kind of record keeping by FDA standards, but if they were really concerned about patient safety, they'd do it anyway.

I hate this company

I hate this company all the staff is extremely rude and they show no compassion towards the paying customers who are in need of their medication. I received a tracking number, but my order never moved, it’s been sitting somewhere in Missouri for 8 days now…that’s weird! They offered to send a replacement, but will not expedite it, because doing so is against their policy. They treat people disgusting. We are human beings who need our medication and there’s no compassion whatsoever.

👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
My fiancé has been waiting two weeks for topical cream for skin cancer. We called Skin Medicinals three times during this period without any call back. Our doctor's office called yesterday. They also received no call back. I got up early today to reach them and spoke with Beth, who said they had no prescription on file for my fiancé. She then proceeded to argue every single point - that they are not connected with Apotheco (they are), they do not have reps on the west coast (they do), they're payment link does not ask about insurance (it does). She even told me that I had dialed the wrong number! However, when I recited the number to her, it was correct. She continually spoke over me, wouldn't listen (obvi), contradicted what my doctor and his staff told us and said it was all my doctor's fault. I have been going to the same dermatologist for 5 years and know him to be excellent and reliable. Then she hung up on me. NEVER do business with these rude people who don't know what they're doing.

My third refill I ordered on the 1st and am now estimated to receive it on the 15th this massive delay led me to not having product for about a week. Probably switching compound pharmacies after this, I had to follow up to get the order moving along to or it probably would’ve took even longer

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Living in LA, CA
They order from a company in Fenton , Missouri. I receive the product from original pharmacy . The Creme eas discolored by the time I received and the dispensers were not working properly. I contacted them right away after I received the product to report the discoloration and the problem with the dispensers of the two bottles . The pharmacy and Medicinal ( original ordering company) both refused to compensate or replace the discolored , malfunctioning bottles . I tried with multiple phone calls to the both companies, multiple emails , talking to the pharmacist , managers . No one tried to help me or acknowledge the issue. I paid 85 dollars . Very very disappointed . I feel being cheated . I reported this to my insurance and my dermatologist for not using these companies . Please be aware, don’t use these two companies.

Medication Never Arrived, No Accountability, and Very Poor Customer Service

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Skin Medicinals has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

My doctor prescribed a skin medication for me for the first time, and I placed my order through Skin Medicinals. I was charged two separate amounts, totaling over $100. I was told the medication shipped on February 23rd, with an expected delivery timeframe of about eight days. As of March 3rd, I still had not received my medication.

Because this is prescription skincare that I actually need to use, the delay was not just inconvenient, it affected my treatment plan. I contacted customer service daily to try to get answers. Each time, I was told something different. At one point, I was told it was my first time calling, which was not accurate. I simply wanted clarity on where my order was and what could be done.

Eventually, I was told that once the package ships, it is no longer their responsibility and that it becomes USPS’s responsibility. I was instructed to contact my local post office myself using the tracking number. While I understand that shipping carriers are involved in delivery, I believe a company should still help its customers when a paid prescription order has not arrived within the promised timeframe.

After nearly eight days with no medication, I requested a refund since I no longer felt confident waiting indefinitely. I was told there is a no refund policy. However, this policy was not clearly explained at the time of purchase, and no alternative solution was offered, such as reshipping the medication or expediting a replacement. When I asked whether they could overnight ship a replacement due to the delay, I was told they do not offer that service.

The most upsetting part of the experience was the customer service interaction itself. Instead of feeling supported, I felt dismissed. The representative was not empathetic to the situation and ultimately ended the call abruptly. As a paying customer dealing with a medical product, I expected professionalism and basic courtesy.

What could have made this better:
• Clear communication about refund and shipping policies upfront
• Proactive assistance when a shipment is delayed
• A replacement or expedited option for time-sensitive prescriptions
• More respectful and solution-focused customer service

At this point, I still do not have clarity on where my medication is, and I am left feeling frustrated and unheard. I hope the company takes feedback like this seriously and improves both their customer support and shipping accountability process.

I would be open to updating this review if the situation is resolved appropriately.

Slow, Sluggish Service

They did not even create a label to ship my order until nearly one week after the order was made. So far, I’m not trusting this place at all.

Porokeratosis 2% Cholesterol/Lovastatin cream from Strive Formulary

I’ve been ordering 2% Cholesterol/Lovastatin cream for Porokeratosis from Skin Medicinals for about 3 years. Receive a refill every 5-6 months. In October my refill arrived in a different shaped 240g tub. Applied for two weeks and observed Porokeratosis coming back. Also a contact dermatitis rash as well. Called SM and they transferred me to a pharmacist who took the batch number, advised me to stop applying and sent me gratis refill. Received refill and applied: same issue (didn’t work + rash). At this point I checked my receipts and noticed that Skin Medicnals had changed their formulary from Foothills to Strive: both bad batches had come from Strive. Had my dermatologist order the cream directly from Foothills. Received cream three days ago and have been applying daily. Result: Porokeratosis is fading as well as the contact dermatitis rash.
So the issue is w the Strive Formula.
Advise anyone who uses Skin Medicinals to check their receipts as this is the only way to determine if SM has switched their formulary.

This is a follow up review for the one I wrote on Dec. 17, 2025. I had called and was told I could not get a refund after I was sent two bottles of cream for my rosacea rather than the one bottle I thought I had ordered. Surprise when my credit card statement arrived--they did refund the $54 for the extra bottle!
By the way, it is working well to clear up my skin. Thank you.

This company does not compound the medicines; they subcontract it out to random pharmacies. This causes the method of applicators to change randomly. If you are looking for consistency, this is not the place to buy from.

Hairstim+ did not work

My dermatologist prescribed Hairstim + Tretinoin for mild female hair loss. I used it for 9 months and not only did it not improve my hair but it started to fall out during the last few months of use. I now have very thin hair so that you can see my scalp. I stopped using this product and am now taking oral drugs for hair loss. The product was quite pricey as well as the shipping. Online ordering was smooth. I am sorry that it did not work. I found bad reviews for the contract company that makes this product for SM. Perhaps they should look into the quality of the product.

This company has destroyed my life

This company has destroyed my life. I was prescribed a medication by an incompetent doctor without being told about a very common and very devastating side effect of this medication. This "pharmacy" did not tell me about the side-effect either. I have filed a complaint with the state board to pull their lisence and will be suing them. DO NOT TRUST THEM
