Shawlands branch . They are nightmare . They don’t care extremely unprofessional. Had an appointment with them and after that no email no contact . They are not picking up calls for days . If don’t believe call there office . I have seen there staff chatting all day and laughing but not picking up calls . It’s a complete joke . Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Don’t waist your time with them you better go another property agent .
The Branch Manager of the Bridge of Weir Office
The manager of the Bridge of Weir branch (Eilidh Shepherd) is not very professional & urgently requires customer relations retraining. As a legitimate buyer and having recently viewed a property, I advised I may need to return to the property to put across my full financial situation to the seller along with a verbal offer, as I had been invited back by the seller, it was at this point, Ms Eilidh Shepherd threatened to involve the police if I was to return to the 'For Sale' property I had previously viewed just days prior (Under what guise for police involvement, I have absolutely no idea).
I had previously made a 2nd viewing request for that night, which was accepted and 2 time slots sent to me for viewing, and 1 other slot verbalised over the phone, then miraculously, the call came to inform me no future viewings were possible, even although I had been informed that other people were going to view the property that night.
All in all, came across as very sly and stealthy way of attempting to run a sell, especially threatening to involve the police in a sale of a house towards a genuine and eager purchaser.
Not to mention the twice that the phone was put down on me by Ms Shepherd, very unprofessionally and rude.
I will never give them any business in the future and will be advising family and friends to avoid like the plague.

AWFUL experience with SlaterHogg…
AWFUL experience with SlaterHogg Paisley letting agents. Seemed professional and helpful at the outset, but were in fact over-priced, dishonest and frankly useless throughout our first experience of letting a property. My partner moved in with me so let out his house through SlaterHogg, they have been an absolute shambles - did not disclose the real reason the tenants failed referencing (said they failed due to being self employed, not that they had negative credit, which they then denied), washed their hands of any responsibility but took their fees. The tenants defaulted on their rent for three months after the second month, during which time the agents were supposed to make a property inspection, which they never did - if they had they'd have found out that they tenants were illegally running a dog grooming business inside the house. The property was ruined, the tenants disappeared after 5 months, it's taken 6 weeks and much expense to restore the property to a rentable condition, and the agent, having reassured us that the deposit at least would be returned in full, have taken several hundred £s in various fees they did not inform us of beforehand. Their final inspection was incomplete, they still charged their fee for that. They did not even check the address provided by the tenants as their guarantor's address - turned out it was their PREVIOUS address where they had done exactly the same and are being looked for by police for crimes committed there.
Their communication is pitiful, they don't answer emails or phone calls, and they have lied to us throughout. Absolute nightmare of an experience - you expect a professional agency to be of some help during a traumatic experience like this but they have left us hanging at every turn. They were only vaguely helpful for as long as they thought we might continue to use their "services"; as soon as we'd terminated the contract with them so that we could let the property ourselves, they have been of zero help. Really shocking how bad - we were told the regional manager would be in touch weeks ago to discuss but have heard nothing. Will be taking this to the Ombudsman. Wish we'd read some of these other 1 star reviews before contracting them!
Absolutely terrible selling experience…
Absolutely terrible selling experience with Slater Hogg Burnside, Glasgow. Deplorable customer service. Distinct lack of enthusiasm from the agents who seemed to have no interest whatsoever in selling our property. Had to call for updates. Staff are not proactive. Failed to sell our property after 17 weeks on the market at prime selling time. The way they speak to you on the phone is nothing short of ignorant. Lack of sales knowledge is also extremely worrying. Marketing is awful, compared to other selling agents. Had to take the property away from Slater Hogg Burnside as no viewers & not making any effort to sell the property. I will NEVER use Slater Hogg again. Completely wasted 4 months of our time. Almost £1000 to get away from them, money wasted. DO NOT USE! Have since changed selling agent & the difference is immediately noticeable, proactive staff, positive feedback from potential buyers, a portal where I can check daily updates. All in all a much fresher, modern, positive & professional approach. I feel much more optimistic & positive now on achieving a sale with the new sales agents (Clyde Property). Whilst with Slater Hogg, the whole process seemed stressful, unprofessional & wasteful. Just all in all, a terribly disappointing, negative experience.
Terrible customer service
Trying to sell our property I call the Greenock office several times, left messages but I was not called back.
Decided if this was a benchmark of responsiveness I don’t really want them representing me. The risk of missing or upsetting potential buyers was quite frankly unacceptable.
I’m baffled how this old, strong branded company fails on the very basics of customer service.
We have gone with a competitor and the service is night & day
Dreadful customer service
Dreadful customer service, requested a home report 5 times over 8 days and still haven’t received it, far from ideal!

Take the stress out of buying & selling your home
A professional and reliable service from start to finish. all at the Burnside branch were always on hand to offer advice and assist with the process at every stage. From advice on offer to submit, valuation of property to arranging viewings every step clearly explained. also on hand to liaise with lawyers and buyer. Would thoroughly recommend using the professional services of slater Hogg Burnside.
Oh god, avoid avoid!
where to begin, first they lied about things that would be done before moving in, they wernt. they never delt with any repairs at all, two months later still nothing was done so i decided to end the tenancy after having never spent a single night there. one month later and have had not heard a word regarding the return of the deposit. I would strongly advice to avoid them at all costs, every step with has been a nightmare and cost me circa 4 grand with nothing but wasted time to show for it.

Avoid this company if you are selling a property. I am a cash buyer found a property I was interested in. It was not under offer and was going to a closing date in two days time. The estate agent claimed they were too busy to show anyone else around the property, despite me giving anytime availability. At the same time everyone in the office was laughing and joking obviously not that busy then. The seller could potentially be losing out thousands because of their actions.

Hi it’s a pleasure to deal with the team my contact person was Kirstie McKinon I phone her maybe 50 times she was helpful and calm every single time I called she sorted out all my problems and help me out to get the house.I recorded 100%Thanks very much
Greedy liars avoid Glasgow branches
Avoid these unprofessional self centred liars. I had a written offer accepted on a property and Slater and Hogg after the fact they continued with viewings and accepted a larger offer without letting us know, so I lost the house I understood was mine. My solicitors said they had never had that happen in there 50+ years of buying and selling property. They wouldn’t reply to phone calls or emails for days so we knew something a was off. Having to break the news to my fiancé was terrible and I don’t wish that in anyone. This lot don’t care and I look forward to karma coming back around for them. I will never go near this excuse for a company ever again and will advise all to avoid at all costs. They don’t care about you, they are greedy cowards.

It was a nice easy and efficient experience. The agents were nice and friendly. Everything was dealt with in a timely and orderly manner.
Avoid Slater Hogg Howson like the plague
There are so many areas that the Largs branch of this company need to address to improve it would take for ever to write about it. They are deceitful, incompetent, unhelpful, unethical and rude. I live in Spain and viewed a flat advertised by SHH in Largs on the internet. I instructed my solicitor to place a note of interest and booked a viewing. At considerable cost I booked flights and accommodation for my wife and myself. We viewed the flat and one hour later asked our solicitor to make an offer as we are cash buyers (perhaps it would have gone better if I had needed a mortgage). The manager, Judith said that an offer had been made and accepted. What is the point of a note of interest! We travelled all that way to view a flat that was already sold before we viewed it. My advice is, if you are buying don't go anywhere near Slater Hogg Howson.
Shocking sales tactics
Viewed a house they were selling and put in an offer. During a conversation it was inferred that the seller would only accept our offer if we sold our house through them. I asked if that's what they meant in case I mis-heard and they repeated it. I questioned if this would not present a conflict of interest and was told no. Checked with another estate agent and they agreed with me (we weren't selling through them so it wasn't just to get our business). Wouldn't touch Slater Hogg with barge pole!
AVOID
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
They do not care about the client but only about their fees. Free home report was advertised for years successfully misleading customers. In addition their T&C's are misleading and contain contrary information which basically means that regardless of pulling out during the cooling off period - YOU WILL BE CHARGED.
Clearly a matter for FCA the regulator to look into those non compliant practises.
Other predominantly bad reviews speak for this horrible misleading service.
Dennistoun Branch Glasgow (However…
Dennistoun Branch Glasgow (However seems to be company issue rather than an individual branch).
Awful experience with this company. Refuse to send a Home Report on a property. 90% of Estate Agents have this to download without having to ask. This is such a simple and basic request as it gives a potential buyer a chance to rule out or express an interest in a property very quickly. Slater Hogg want to obtain your personal info to pass on to 3rd parties before they even send a Home Report. I've already received marketing e-mails that I did not give permission for. Safe to say if you want to sell a property through here and get as much as possible for it, you won't. You will have less interest as they don't send Home Reports. Shockingly bad! Will never sell a property through here.

Awful experience with Slater Hogg & Howison in Glenrothes. Andrena accused my mother of "throwing the toys out of a pram" for withdrawing an offer. Proceeded to put her on loudspeaker? Very rude and will avoid dealing with this brand on the future because of Andrena. Honestly don't know who this woman think she is or who she is speaking to - awful lack of professionalism.
Inconsiderate or sheer incompetence
Inconsiderate or sheer incompetence.
I have sent several contact forms requesting the home report for a property I'm interested in purchasing, that was all.
The first time, they called and left a message asking me to call them back. No explanation as to why they were calling and not sending me the home report.
I then sent a second one explicitly stating that I did not want a call. This was ignored and they called anyway. Still giving no information as to why they were calling or why they wanted me to call back. All I wanted was the home report.
This makes me feel like they are hiding something or are looking to pressure me into something since this is far easier by phone than by email.
I would recommend to avoid them and their parent Countrywide as well.
