Belt keeps coming undone from clip. I've tried multiple times reattaching it and it just comes undone in a few minutes. Waiting to hear back from customer service about either exchanging or returning. I've had it for less than a week.
I realize that I am not the target buyer for this belt but I need to tell you that this belt is terrific. I am 67 and this belt was a Christmas gift from last year. I have always bought inexpensive belts and they would often break after a short time .This belt is now over a year old and still looks brand new. Sadly, bodies change with age and this belt has helped so much. There is nothing worse than a elderly woman with saggy pants. I am no longer that woman. Thank you Slidebelts..
I bought one of the regular slide belts and for a while it worked well. But then it started acting up. The leather slid out of the buckle over and over and over. Every time I bend over or sit in my car. So I ordered another one hoping it would be better and the same thing has happened. They sent me a new buckle but the same thing happened again. These things are NOT cheap to purchase and should work for the money that I spent. Very disappointed in the product. Why can’t they make a belt that the leather stays in the buckles???? NOW.. I am seeing reviews that customer service has slipped and they are are not as attentive to these complaints! I am Very sad. I believed in the product!
Have had two buckles to lose the pin which holds the two parts of the buckle together. Found customer service to be wonderful. Shipped me a brand new one the first time, and since the second is over a year old, they sent me a second for no money. I question the quality, but the service and stand behind their product is great. Unfortunately, I don't trust the belt, so when I travel, I always carry a regular belt.
Bought three belts and had two buckles break. Customer service replaces buckles but who wants a belt that breaks? My old school belts last a decade without falling apart. Nice idea nice people but poorly made product. I think I better pass on their watches lol (3 stars because they don't ignore their defective products)
Purchased the Slidebelt Survival belt ($150 belt) as a gift, and the product arrived damaged. I posted a poor review on FB, and for the past three months have been harassed by what I can only imagine are employees attempting to pressure me into removing my review. The worst part? The page admin blocked me from responding to my own review, so I'm not even able to defend myself. Don't waste your money supporting these hacks!
The belts I first bought broke in the clasp mechanisms and failed after a few years. They are more than a year old, so customer service blew me off.
I think their guaranty has been shortened due to issues with the clasp and belt quality.
The new full grain belts are overpriced, but seem to work better.
I got my first SlideBelt in early August 2018 and wore it for about two-and-a-half weeks before ordering my second SlideBelt - Survival - in late August. Ordered another two in September, then one in October (the Flag buckle survival model). I had a small problem with my first belt (that I'm not sure wasn't partially my fault) and one email was all it took for them to resolve the issue quite satisfactorily and very quickly. These are the only belts I'll wear from here on out. My grandson is a snappy-dressing aficionado and I thought I'd give him one. Now I have to buy him another one so he has a different color.
Had my slide belt for over a year...loved it. But this a.m. the pins that hold the belt clamp to the main buckle fell out.
Called up Slide Belt and a delightful lady told me they made improvements since my purchase and they are sending me a replacement buckle.
Wow! Now that's service.
I have had this belt for about a year now and was very satisfied. Up until the part of the buckle that clamps to the belt itself broke. looks like a pin fell out one side of the clamp and when i tried to put it on broke the other side of the clamp, I thought for sure i found the right belt for me but the search goes on! Close but no cigar.
Paid full price $150.00 + shipping, found out too late there are discount codes all over the internet. It was delivered in a pristine outer shipping box but the inner box and buckle certainly appeared recycled. By coincidence the day it was delivered I received an email from a third party vendor for $50.00 less and free shipping.
I called customer service (waste of time) They would not match the price of their own re-seller and send me a replacement "too costly". So I cancled they advised me to ship it back at my expense. Honestly after inspecting it I did not even want to keep it. It seemed like it would let me down when
I would need it. Like a multi tool that does nothing well.
I'm not a big review writer but this company deserves it.
I have see several reviews that mention the buckle falling off. I have four of these belts some I have had for many years. I also experienced the buckle issue. After receiving what I considered a poor answer from customer service. I simple closed the gap using a hammer and punch. Careful not to go too far the belt won't fit into the slot. Note this leave a mark on the buckle that will be covered while wearing. I also switched to premium leather its thicker not to mention a nice look. Love the ratchet design its the only belt I'll wear.
The belt is solid. Their customer service was also amazing and helped me when I messed up my order. They saved me money, did it quickly, and acted like real people on the other end. Thanks Megan!
I think this belt is great, love it so far.....
The most expensive belt in my closet and least favorite!
Excellent quality compared to some other brand slide belts I've tried.
The belt is attractive and generally works well. However. the small piece on the metal clasp that is located on the side of the belt next to the wearer's body and slips down into the slot(s) on the belt sometimes just pops loose, even it the belt is not being worn tightly. It can happen even if the wearer just happens to turn or move in a certain way, or happens to pull on the belt to move the buckle more toward the center.
I purchased two belts and one of the belts broke shortly after receiving it. The track broke on one of the belts and now I am unable to use it. I tried at least five times to contact customer service to find out how I can get a new leather piece for the belt. They never returned my call. Customer service is horrible. I would never buy another one.
I originally gave it one star but since then I was able myself to contact them and they were very helpful and sent me and leather piece for my belt.
It's ok but soon after it will become a pain. The buckle has a lever with teeth that when engaged, will bite into the leather belt for keeping the leather attached to the buckle. Great when it's new, but in just a few times of wear, the leather will permanently indent where the retaining lever is and the lever will flop open and detatch from the belt, usually with the buckle flying off to the floor. It's easy to reattach but who wants to do this every other time you put the belt on. You can always trim the leather creating a new attachment area for the buckle but this seems to be "life limiting" for the longevity of the product. Belts need to be simple and you should not have to mess around with them. Nice idea, but really just another gadget. Would be much better to have the leather sewn on to the buckle. The ratchet mechanism seems to work well.
I liked how the belt worked in many respects. However, it was fairly common after a month or so for the buckle to ocassionally fall off when putting it on. Easy enough to put it back together though as it stretched I found myself having to cut off the end so the buckle was be less prone to coming off. Biggest issue was that after maybe a year the leather started cracking. In more than one spot. On both sides. Had to stop using it because it was obvious that at some point it was going to fail completely and didn't want that to happen at an inopportune time. Made me think that perhaps it was not genuine leather (as stamped) but some sort of composite.
