I would have given Portsmouth S&L one star but a very nice young man got them an extra star. One member of staff was rude abrupt and unhelpful as soon as we walked in. So when we were told the food wo... See more

Bottomless brunch Oxford S&L
We had bottomless brunch in OXFORD S&L last night, we have previously been there and service was not good so was expecting the worse but hoping things were better. It was so busy we were late to sit BUT the service we got from our waitress MARIA was fantastic she was polite, hardworking and efficient. She definitely changed our opinion of S&L and will now be back .
Hopefully she will get some recognition from the company?

Probably the worst customer experience…
Probably the worst customer experience I have ever encountered. After waiting for a family food order for over two hours I called and spoke to the St Albans Manager who was both confrontational and rude. With the conversation going nowhere and our food ready and being kept warm I said I would go to collect and further discuss my complaint in person. When I got there and explained to the chaps on the door they were clearly expecting me and I was then searched before being allowed in. Inside another larger security man appeared to be in place to intimidate me. The Manager appeared and rather than listen to me was more interested in arguing and whilst I remained calm the Manager, who would not provide her name then even threatened to have me ejected rather than listen to the full details of my complaint. This Manager even thought it was acceptable to continue smirking at me whilst I was talking. I would very much like to explain the full details of this appalling service with someone from Slug and Lettuce but in the mean time please do be mindful if placing a Locked and Loaded food order.

Disappointing Bottomless Brunch
I recently attended a bottomless brunch at Cardiff Central to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. While the food was quite good, several aspects of the experience left much to be desired.
Firstly, the drink selection was extremely minimalist. For a bottomless brunch, I expected a wider variety of beverages, but the options were very limited. This was quite disappointing considering the price we paid.
Additionally, the waiting times for drinks were unacceptably long. Each time we ordered a drink, it took about 20 minutes to arrive. Over the course of our brunch, we were only able to have three drinks. This was particularly frustrating as it was my birthday, and I had hoped for a more enjoyable experience.
The management of the staff also seemed poor. There were about six members of staff behind the bar, yet only one server, Jess, was attending to customers. Jess was constantly running around trying to keep up, and it was clear that she was overwhelmed. It didn't seem fair to her, and it certainly impacted the quality of service we received.
If Slug and Lettuce cannot handle the workload, they should reconsider offering bottomless brunch and other group bookings. It’s unfair to both the staff and the customers.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience. What was supposed to be a fun and celebratory occasion turned out to be a significant letdown. I hope management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements.
Went to the slug and lettuce in…
Went to the slug and lettuce in Cardiff. Ordered starter and main for myself and partner. Had to wait 1.5 hours which was fine as they told us it would be that long .
Main course came out before the starter swiftly followed by the starter.
I ordered the fajita pasta in a creamy sauce well they forgot the sauce as there wasent a single drop of creamy sauce just olive oil. And about 4 very thin chicken bits.
I asked the waiter if this was right and he said yes it was fine by our chefs. I asked where the creamy sauce was can you see the creamy sauce? He said no.
I said I’m not paying £12 for that. He took it away mumbles something about a manager and 5 min later £12 was plonked on table. No apology no offer of any different food. So after waiting 1.5 hours for food I only ended up with chicken strips.
My partner had aburger and that was dry.
I appreciate that they were busy however there is no excuse for pumping out poor food . Especially when a customer waited patiently 1.5 hours

Awful
Awful. (Durham branch)
First time going here and we won’t be back.
After getting a seat and downloading the app to order food the drinks came within 5 minutes. The food however, took in excess of 45-55 minutes. It started to get cold outside so we moved to a table inside and had to go to the bar to let the know we relocated. We were greeted by a server with a blank look on his face who said he’d let the chef know. After a long wait the food finally turned up only just warm and with absolutely no cutlery or condiments. To add to this one of the meals we received was wrong but couldn’t find anyone to assist us. The portions were so small for the price you pay and were adequate at best. Needless to say we will not be coming back here.
Abysmal service and food
When we placed our order the person serving did not bring us any cutlery or condiments in readiness for our meal. After a long wait for our order of food to arrive it was cold. We asked for the food to be reheated. After another long wait the food remained only warm. The service was bad and even when the food was returned we still did not have any cutlery and had to ask for this. The food was so awful we hardly ate anything. Needless to say we will never go here again.

We visited the Slug and Lettuce in…
We visited the Slug and Lettuce in Newquay, there was 8 of us. One of our party is a celiac so ordered from the gluten free options, however her meal wasn’t brought out with the rest and when we enquired as to where it was we were told they have to cook all the meals that were on order and wait for a gap to clean and do the gluten free one, I work in hospitality and this is appalling, she felt singled out.
