We had excellent customer service from Tom. Unfortunately we didn't think the sandwiches were tasty, the bread was a little tough but the desert was tasty. We had afternoon tea.

Worst experience ever, don’t bother!
Worst experience ever. We were going to see an event at the O2 arena so I booked a table in plenty of time, time slot of 12:30 - 2. What I didn’t bargain for was such poor service. We waited an hour and twenty for our food which was over cooked and like chewing on card board. Every time I asked how long, it was ten minutes away! It wasn’t even that busy, they must have been butchering the cow and waiting for the potatoes to finish growing !
Next time I’ll be getting a meal deal from Sainsbury’s round the corner!
Shocking service
Shocking service. Relatively empty bar with 3 bar staff incapable of managing the floor. Until they up their game, in terms of every aspect of service (drink/food service, table clearance, billing) I would not recommend to anyone.
Pleasure
Pleasure, i need of a Slug and Lettuce from number 1. I pay, my via 8 marzo 8 rivalta 42123, reggio emilia.
2 of us went for lunch
2 of us went for lunch. Table was filthy with sticky beer stains. Food was awful. Fish and chips and a tagliatelle chilli prawns. Under cooked, about 5 prawns, no sauce. The fish had been frozen and batter looked hardly fried.
Awful experience
Awful experience, myself and wife went in during week. Found empty tables all were filthy and not cleaned from previous diners. Sat and waited, staff were more interested in moving and setting up tables. We just got up and left. Would not recommend
We visited the branch in Piccadilly…
We visited the branch in Piccadilly Gardens , Manchester (11 Portland street) with a Meal for three gift voucher which my son and daughter in law presented to us for Christmas on the 3rd February. After booking in we were seated close to a huge party of Students who actually were not the issue as they were very well behaved. We ordered the starter and mains which arrived pretty quickly, both our starters were good and enjoyed. The main courses were both pretty average. The wait for ordering the dessert was when the customer service seemed to completely disappear, this was mainly due to the fact the staff were so busy dealing with delivering the student party their drinks and clearing empties. In the meantime the waiter who served us the starter and mains completely vanished only for me to see him about 20 yards away at the bar chatting away with 2 other members of staff. After waiting patiently for 20 minutes for someone to arrive to at least clear away our used mains dishes I managed to catch the attention of the drinks waitress who told me she deals with drinks, however she did eventually take the dessert order and after a total wait of 30 minutes it arrived. It was clear there was no lack of staff, it was the lack of attention which was unacceptable.
We finished the desserts and left the premises somewhat disappointed with the experience. Sadly it will be the last time we visit this branch and frankly the experience has put us off visiting any of their branches going forward.
Never again, not even worth 1 star
Terrible service. Booked for a friends birthday and had to leave early due to a very intoxicated individual (who appeared to be a member of staff) who came and sat with us uninvited then became abusive towards us. This happened 2 weeks ago and i've contacted customer services numerous times but unfortunately no member of staff from nottingham cornerhouse branch has acknowledged my concerns for the individual involved or given me a refund. There is no excuse for no response and it appears that safety of customers isn't a high priority to the staff here. Please bear this in mind if you decide to come here, which I won't ever again.
Visited the Slug and lettuce Glasgow
Visited the Slug and lettuce Glasgow, first, and definitely the last time. It's a shame as the member of staff who served us was very pleasant, welcoming, and efficient. However the food was appalling, Starters were at best lukewarm, mains weren't much better, very, very poor, and very, very disappointing.
Horrible over priced lager
Horrible over priced lager. Only went there for a colleagues leaving function. Keg beer tastes awful, and at £7 + only stayed for one. Can't see this company lasting long.
Gluten contamination
If I could rate this as a minus star, I would.
I wish to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at S&L Birmingham restaurant. I was keen to enjoy a meal that would accommodate my gluten-free dietary needs. I spoke directly with the waitress, who assured me that there were two gluten-free options available. Based on her guidance, I ordered the GF cheese and bacon burger.
Unfortunately, within an hour of eating, I began to feel extremely unwell. Over the past five days, I have continued to suffer from the effects of gluten exposure. This has caused me significant distress, and I have had to take time off work due to illness.
What is particularly concerning is that I was not informed that the chips served with my meal were cooked in a fryer that also handles gluten, which I now understand resulted in cross-contamination. Had I been made aware of this crucial information, I would not have ate the chips.
Food allergies and intolerances should be treated with the utmost care, and whilst I understand there are no regulations for separate fryers, your staff lacked the necessary understanding of the risks of cross-contamination, which led to my serious health issue. In future I suggest your train your staff accordingly, and they inform the customer of possible cross contamination.
Very disappointed, would not eat in S&L ever again.
Absolutely disgusting!
Had a 2pm booking for afternoon tea at the slug and lettuce at 2 dean park crescent Bournemouth using a birthday voucher given as a gift to my wife. Arrived on time to be told they had no booking, but nevertheless was shown to a sticky dirty table, but we didn't make a fuss. Had to wait 50 minutes for our "sandwich, roll and cakes" to appear. The sandwich and rolls were stone cold as if the contents had not been fully defrosted, or straight out of the fridge. The lad serving us was very apologetic and said he would call the manager over, this is where things went from bad to worse. The manager, or general manager as she described herself was a scruffy looking extremely defensive, rude and unapologetic woman saying that "you don't walk into a restaurant and expect to get food straight away, everything is cooked fresh", I pointed out that these were sandwiches, the contents were cold and not freshly cooked (still felt semi frozen) and took 50 minutes to arrive! She told me that she would have new sandwiches prepared, but that would take another 50 minutes, I said no, we were not prepared to wait that long and god knows what they would do to the food, she then stormed off in a huff, to which I said yeh just walk away when a customer is talking to you. She then came back and said well I'm going to ask you to leave, I said fine, give us back our voucher, to which she said no and that she would put a marker against our booking not to serve us again. Let me tell you something mister owner of the place, how you have this person as a general manager I don't know, she has zero respect for customers and has no idea how to deal with people that are paying for a service and seems to think that her magnificent title of "general manager" entities her to special treatment. You don't have to worry about not being willing to serve us again as we absolutely will not be back. In all the years we have eaten out we have never had such an unpleasant experience. We left having eaten nothing.
Excellent afternoon tea
Excellent afternoon tea. Good value money. Great surroundings, great service . Really enjoyed. Staff Abbie n Kevin excellent
Slug and lettuce Milton Keynes
I visited Slug & Lettuce last week with a friend to celebrate our birthdays, but unfortunately, the experience was ruined before it even began. We had a Groupon voucher we were excited to redeem. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn't use it because we hadn't pre-booked "a day or more in advance."
What made this particularly frustrating was that the restaurant was completely empty—we were literally the only potential customers there. We asked to speak with the manager, hoping for a bit of common sense or flexibility given the circumstances, but he refused to help and insisted on the pre-booking rule.
To make matters worse, the voucher itself states that you can either walk in or pre-book, so the staff's refusal felt both unnecessary and contradictory to the terms we purchased.
It’s baffling that a business would turn away paying customers and a celebration over a booking technicality when the venue is at zero capacity. It completely soured our birthday mood. We won't be returning to this location; they clearly value rigid (and seemingly incorrect) processes over actual customer service
My family and I went to the slug and…very dissatisfied.
My family and I went to the slug and lettuce richmond hill Bournemouth. I waited nearly 2 hours for a cheese burger, with out bacon. It was served after everyone in my group had there’s, it was cold. They replaced it with another one but had bacon in. That was dripping in oil and blood. I couldn’t eat it. The disabled toilet was filthy no soap. And no lock on the door. The coke was flat and no taste at all. We complained but we all felt they was mocking us . The staff had no respect, and really didn’t seem to know what they was doing. The manager said she didn’t usually work in the kitchen . Myself and another member of my family were up all night with stomach cramps and feeling sick. The kitchens need checking into poor hygiene. The manager used the toilet and I went in after there was no soap, and the sink was dry so she hadn’t washed her hands.
Milton keynes Slug and lettuce poor.
Milton keynes Slug and lettuce was very poor. Freezing cold room. Manager was rude and uninterested. Menu items unavailable and food that was available was not as advertised. Won't be going back.
Disappointing buy a gift voucher for slug…
We had a buy a gift voucher for slug and lettuce for a 3 course meal and a drink. The menu was very limited consistently of burgers, they had one meal of chicken and bacon melt. Our starter of calamari was tasty, but when the chicken melt came the chicken was wrapped in bacon with just a cheese slice balanced on top with barbaque sauce just squirted on the top, The chicken was also dry, the chips were good.
I ordered chocolate brownie which was also dry and very chewy.
Our drink was probably the best thing we had.
Wouldn't recommend.
Girlie lunch
We had booked a sharing platter at the Slug and lettuce in the omni in edinburgh. Myself ,my friend and my 9yr old granddaughter. The service was brilliant. Staff explained all that would come in the platter. Very attentive and kind staff. Nothing was a bother to them. My Granddaughter loved her Baby Belini along with her chicken and chips. Which she gave 10 out of 10. The food on the share platter was on a 3 plate stand. Beautifully presented. Very tasty and yummy food. There was plentiful for the 2 of us. The house White wine was lovely . So overall 10 for service, 10 for food and 10 for the ambience. Xx we will return .
Took my wife to slug and lettuce omni…
Took my wife to slug and lettuce omni centre edinburgh , sever was good liam good experience, the food however was rank rotten , we both got fish and chips , the fish was like mush inside the batter it was horrendous peas were cold chips were ok the batter tasted of old oil , will never be back again
Poor food
Had 2 steak and chips. Steaks were barely edible, just fat and gristle. Rocket that came with one steak looked like the sell by date was last week it was so limp.
Service was OK but at a cost, at the till it asks for 10 or 12% service charge but you can opt out.
Poor meal and wouldn't go back.3 stars being generous
Waterloo branch
Appalling Customer Service
Terrible an awesome customer service. Using a buy a gift voucher we booked at Nottingham cornerhouse for 5pm on New Year’s Day. We do book through but a gift but checked on the restaurants website and google, both said would be open and their online website was excepting bookings between 5&6pm. We booked for 5pm only to show up and the restaurant was closed. We tried to go to the other slug and lettuce around the corner and they refused as we didn’t book through them. Called customer service this morning and the lady simply did not care.
This was meant to be a special meal on New Year’s Day and we landed up having a mediocre subway.
Whilst I can’t recommend the food as never had the chance to taste it, and no ones seems to care, I give them 0 stars purely on very very poor customer service
