What I liked about the guy who dealt with my transfer was his persistence! He also upped his offer in line with Wise which I thought was okay. He just kept keeping in contact annoying at first but then grateful when it came to the transfer as I needed someone skilled with the money transfer.

India and Danny have been great. Moving currency may be easy for millionaires but was my first time and I needed hand-holding. The service was explained and they kept in touch, without pressure, to see how things were going. Because they were first in memory I kept going back to them with questions. On the day of sending the money I called with the current market rates and got a great rate. The process was simple, clear and above all safe.

I live in the US and was buying a house in France when Smart Currency Exchange was recommended to me. They made the transaction from dollars to Euros, fast and seamless. Rory was the trade manager I worked with. He was very helpful in explaining the costs and benefits of working with SCE. The fluctuation in currency prices can make transactions abroad more costly than they need to be, whether in lost interest or rate of exchange. Knowing the details of the exchange is important. When a money wire I sent came in late they stayed in the office to make sure it got to the notary on time. I will be using them in the future and recommending them to friends.

I was moving abroad and needed to convert a large sum of money at a particular point in time, but was never quite sure when that time would be (house sale and purchase is always tricky and uncertain). Danny Cook was my main contact and he really took the time to explain all my options and made sure I understood exactly what I had to do and when. Everything went really smoothly and effortlessly from there on, and it was super-easy to set up the payments online myself afterwards.

Having recently agreed a purchase on an apartment in Spain I was introduced to Smart Currency by my Estate Agent that has been in business for many years. Even so transferring a considerable amount of money these days is always a worry and being cautious I wanted to make multiple transactions to reduce my exposure. My account manager Rhys Nicklin has been excellent. He was very informative from the beginning and detailed my options with currency rates and transfers. I actually made six transactions and was phoning Rhys very early in the day each time to ensure the funds were transferred as soon as possible. Myself and my wife decided to retire in Spain. We found a beautiful villa to purchase and started on the process of aquiring a Spanish Non Lucrative Visa. That was 12 weeks ago and the emotional roller coaster began. An important aspect of the purchase was converting our stirling funds into Euros. After alot of research, we chose Smart Currency Exchange, to say this company is good is a total understatement. I cannot express enough our gratitude to the company and especially to our designated account manager, Danny Cook. Danny's knowledge, professionalism and attention was an inspiration and gave us the confidence to entrust our life savings to a process that was going to give us a new life. With Danny's guidance we purchased a forward contract at a fixed rate that guaranteed our Euro funds when required. As I write this heatfelt review, the remainder of our funds were transferred to Spain 6 days ago by Danny (arrived same day), passports with visa arrived yesterday, our villa purchase completes tomorrow, and in 4 days we fly to Spain to start our new life.

A very positive experience right from the first contact. Took the advice given to forward purchase euros for property purchase in Spain which meant I knew exactly how much was needed when the time came. Rate obtained was better than expected too! We have used Smart Currency Exchange twice in the last few months in the process of buying a house in France. First to transfer the deposit to the French Notaire and secondly this week to transfer the remaining balance. Throughout the whole process Smart Currency Exchange and Baillie Malyon who was our account manager have been amazing. Great customer service, he explained the whole process to us and was happy to answer all our questions. Baillie was at the end of the phone or email whenever we needed to check something.
