Despite a couple of blips (a change of installation date due to sickness and a fitting issue) I found this company a good one and was very happy with the work and result. The manager phoned me about the second issue and fully explained, going the extra mile to ensure my installation suited my needs. I can't speak highly enough of the installer, Mark. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, cheerful and a perfectionist in his work. He arrived promptly at 8am and actually worked steadily throughout for the 11 hours it took , not stopping for lunch and without tea breaks, taking a drink whilst continuing, and clearing up efficiently and thoroughly. I can't recommend Mark enough, and if he is an example of their installers, Smart Energy is certainly the one to go with; he is a credit to the company. I am assured I will receive reminders when a service is imminent, and can either go with my regular engineer or with Smart Energy, unlike some companies.

It started great.
Due to the hours I work, they arranged a video call to give me a quote and then when I decided to proceed; they sent out their Heating Manager to double-check everything was correct. The installer on the day, Dave, was great too, arrived when he said he would and left no mess when he had finished the job.
However, that is where the good points end.
Due to the location of my flue, I was told that scaffolding was required for the new one to be fitted. I was okay with this and happy to pay the extra £360 to ensure the job could be completed. However, when installation day came, the company Smart Energy used for scaffolding just went on the roof with a ladder. They were at the property for no more than 10 minutes. I thought, "Great, no need for the scaffolding. That will save me some money!" I was wrong. I was still charged the complete £360. When I enquired as to whether they could discount this due to the fact no scaffolding was put up I was told that they are charged the same rate for any job, no matter whether they actually put the scaffolding up or not. Obviously being the scaffolding contractor for Smart Energy is a very lucrative deal!
A few weeks later, they gave me a call to arrange for their Heating Manager to come and sign off the installation. This was arranged for a time that fit in with my working hours. I rushed home on the day to ensure I was there for the agreed time, however, the Heating Manager never showed, and no one from the company contacted me to tell me that it would not be going ahead.
In my opinion, they are great in the run-up and on the day of installation, but as soon as you've paid your invoice (of over £2k) their aftersales is poor.
I would not recommend this company and will not use them in the future for my boiler servicing.

Five star from start to finish. Chris was excellent on the phone, giving very professional advice and an extremely reasonable price which was lower than their competitors. Further to this, a person came out to give an in-house survey of what was needed. On the day, Daryl the installer, was outstanding and we are very pleased to have hot water and central heating back again.
Cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Chris extremely helpful with arranging quote to match my needs followed up by a prompt response from Louise in the office once I had made my decision on best time to book in. Darren then arrived to fit the boiler. Credit to the company a punctual, courteous, hard-worker who made sure everything was clean and tidy once finished. Top company, had a new Worcester Bosch boiler installed by Smart Energy WM. Brian the surveyor came round bang on time for the appointment. Brian was really helpful and gave us a few different options and advice on our options. No sales pressure, just good advice and available options. He left us overnight to mull over our choice and advised Louise would call us the next day to check if we wanted to proceed. As promised Louise called the next day to discuss finance options and take a deposit, she was really helpful and we placed our order. It was a very smooth process. Within 30 mins we had a date for our work to commence. Again as promised the engineer Tom called us en route with a ETA and arrived on time. We were a little concerned as we have a light coloured carpet in the hallway but as soon as Tom arrived he covered all the carpets in the areas of works with a product I’ve not seen before, called roll and stroll, it’s a thick sticky cling film carpet protector which was great. The installation went very smoothly and the electrician arrived in the PM to install our Hive and he very patiently showed us how it works. From start to finish Smart Energy were brilliant and I would highly recommend them as a trustworthy company. Keep up the good work guys and thank you.
We would highly recommend Smart Energy, on the installation of our gas combi boiler and radiators. Smart Energy were very polite, helpful and informative from start to finish. Also extremely pleased with the final finish, the boiler and radiators work perfectly.
We were so pleased that our daughter also used them to change their boiler etc.. A very big thank you to Steve, Matt and Smart Energy a job well done.

Excellent engineers who went above and beyond to meet our high expectations. Lee and Chris were very accommodating and made themselves available for any queries. The only negative was the ICT systems which caused some confusion with automated emails. Overall I would give smart energy 4.9!

A brilliant company! We were losing hope on getting a new central heating system after so many quotes and misinformation but our faith has been restored.
6 radiators, new gas pipework throughout and a new boiler installed within two weeks for a much cheaper price than we had previously been quoted.
Brian came round and went through everything in detail, giving us a detailed quote and answering any questions. When we went ahead we explained the urgency and Smart Energy managed to fit us in the next week. We were informed when the engineer would come (first to measure up and finalise details and then to install) and kept updated during every step.
We also ordered column radiatiors from another company which were delayed, but Smart Energy simply said they would come back and fit the new radiators with no extra charge when they arrived which saved us alot of worry.
The company is fantastically organised and effiicient. Thank You to Lee, Steve and Brian.

Full central heating replacement. Very professional and organized. We decided to supply a couple of our own radiators and were let down last minute by the supplier. Lee and the team were very understanding and worked out a solution to install the rest of the system and return free of charge at a later date to fit the missing radiators. Really happy with the final outcome!

Terrible communication. I approached this company for a quotation for loft and underfloor insulation as part of the government incentive for improving energy efficiency. I had a surveyor call at my property three times, measuring up, took time off from work on each occasion, for the same measurements to be taken. I eventually applied for the grant and was awarded the grant amount, a date was given to me to start the work, only for this to be delayed, meaning that I had to request an extension to my grant. Finally, to be told a further survey was required after the grant had been awarded and on that survey, told that I couldn't have the work done as the original surveyor had been a student and didn't know that the improvement did not qualify for a grant. Communication was terrible and I am glad that the work never actually completed, as judging from the initial contact, I can only imagine the work would have been of a similar standard.
I have read the reply provided by Smart Energy and unfortunately, I don’t see any right to reply. As their reply to my post states that my proposed work no longer met a criteria. Why was that? I was told that a room in roof should have planning permission, this is not correct as my local council confirmed that the room in roof falls under a permitted development free from planning application approval. They said that a room in roof should be a liveable room, finished and decorated. Actually, a room in roof simply needs fixed stairs and ventilation to count as a room in roof. This company have completely wasted my time.

I had the best experience with the boiler engineer who came to fix the boiler in my house today. He was very friendly polite and down to earth person. I couldn’t expect than anything from what he did. He left the place very neat and tidy after his job. Superb finishing touch.

The whole process of having the insulation fitted in both lofts within one day was carried out by a very professional team. They were all very friendly and always double checked on specific areas in the two loft spaces as to our requirements. We cannot praise the whole team enough from the first visit by Martin (the surveyor who provided good advice as to the way forward) to Olivia in the office and to Tom & Lee during the installation process. We would not hesitate to recommend Smart Energy to anyone wishing to upgrade their property insulation. Thank you.
