Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 259 reviews, reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently highlight that the application is exceptionally reliable, user-friendly, and makes the entire process of finding a vehicle incredibly fast and smooth. People really appreciate the incredible convenience of renting various cars and practical vans in their neighborhood for significantly lower prices than traditional commercial rental agencies. Some reviewers were not happy with unexpected charges and high additional fees that surprisingly appeared during their vehicle rentals. Consumers noted that expensive insurance costs and extra transactional expenses can drive up the final price significantly higher than initially anticipated. A few individuals also mentioned facing occasional troubles with customer service communication or unexpected technical glitches within the system.

Everything goes fine until the moment…

Everything goes fine until the moment you actually need support, and that's where it falls apart.

There's no way to reach a real person. You only get a bot that repeats the same line over and over, no matter what you ask. When you're stuck in a genuinely inconvenient situation and need help fast, it's incredibly frustrating.

Their website promises immediate help for active bookings. That's simply not true. You're left listening to the bot and waiting hours for a human to get back to you, and when one finally does, they ask you to repeat everything you already explained to the bot.

It's an illogical way to run support. When something goes wrong, you're essentially on your own. Hugely frustrating, and exactly the kind of thing that matters most when you're relying on the service.

It works

It works, you find a car close to your location and contact the owner directly. You6don't have to chase an expensive rental company anymore.

Unfair treatment

I believe those who rent out their cars are being treated unfairly. The payouts for owners aren't that high to begin with. My car hadn't been requested for over a year, and when someone tried to book it while I was on vacation, I canceled immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. However, the next day SnappCar informed me that they would charge a €20 penalty on my next rental. I see this as a total scam. Charging a fee for a cancellation made within minutes for a booking requested only a day in advance is pure robbery. To make matters worse, their customer service responses are incredibly annoying

rude and ignorant support

after few weeks of pursuing support finally received justice and the claim is cancel. Changing rate from 1 to 3. Processes contacting customers required further revision for sure.

To avoid falling into this processes gap - recommended to chat with owner after rental a few times to confirm no fines arrived.

----
Experience goes seamless until it is touched to support. I got notification about a parking fine. The rules of the platform says "SnappCar will handle fine and renter will be charged the amount of fine + administrative fee. For that owner must provide evidence he contacted renter in whatsapp and did not get response"

I was not informed about the fine and warned support about that. While they were reading own terms and conditions - I've contacted car owner, transferred him costs, fine was paid and we started cancelling the fine process.

Today I got response from the Support, I'm just left copy here: " Thanks for your message. We should indeed update our information in the Help Center. This is outdated. Our new process (since March) is to handle any fine that an owner sends us, without first consulting the renter. Apologies for this incorrect information. Yet this doesn’t change the fact that we handled the fine and will stick to the 20 euro admin fee."

So - they are changing own rules when they want and with backward effect.

ps/ But guys, this is does not work like this.. I will sue you in case you try to charge me, I've saved evidences of current terms and conditions, and our chat.

upd: I received charging request for the fine was already paid by owner, I sent him money.. and I'm unable to get answer from the company for this case. I hope layer will fine a way to talk to them
