Great way to borrow or lend your car especially if you don't need it. Cheaper than regular car rental agencies

Simple, quick and easy to rent . It was perfect for what I needed to move a student's belongings.

I had a terrible experience with a booking. I arrived at the car for an urgent appointment only to find it had a flat tire and was undrivable. Instead of helping me find an alternative, SnappCar simply cancelled the booking and left me stranded.
To make my appointment on time, I had to rent a last-minute car from a competitor (MyWheels) which cost me significantly more. Despite explaining this urgent situation to support, I was offered a measly refund and an apology.. When I asked for a fair resolution to cover part of the extra costs caused by their community vehicle's failure and their dismissive support I was told "Sorry we can't give you better news, but have a nice day anyway."...
I expected better accountability from a platform that claims to be a reliable community. Very disappointed with how dismissive the support team (Jan/Jeff) has been.

I had a very disappointing experience with Snapcar.com. What initially seemed like a convenient service quickly turned into a frustrating and expensive ordeal. The base price might look reasonable at first, but they add extra costs for almost everything.
I was charged additional fees that were never clearly explained upfront, and it felt like they were looking for any excuse to increase the final price. Small things turned into unexpected charges, making the whole experience feel unfair and misleading.
Overall, I would not recommend Snapcar.com. Be prepared to pay much more than you expect, and double-check every detail if you decide to use their service.

I started renting out my car on SnappCar with a lot of optimism. The first few rentals actually went smoothly, and I felt this could be a reliable way to earn some extra income. Unfortunately, over time, the experience has become increasingly frustrating due to repeated system issues and lack of proper support.
One incident in particular made me seriously question the platform. A booking was properly checked in, and the renter had the car. He requested an extension, which I accepted, but when he later cancelled the extension, the entire booking disappeared from the system while the car was still with him. This meant there was no active booking, no proper check-out process, and no clarity on insurance or liability. This is not a minor bug — it is a serious system failure. Luckily, the renter returned the car, but this could have easily turned into a major issue.
After the return, I discovered that the renter had smoked in the car. There was a strong cigarette smell and even ash traces inside. Instead of getting proper support, I had to handle everything myself — arranging cleaning, following up, and trying to recover costs. This added more time and effort for something that should have been straightforward.
There have also been repeated issues with fuel tracking. Even when the tank is full, the app shows incorrect percentages (for example, 83%), which leads to unnecessary disputes. I have reported this multiple times, but the issue still persists.
Support has been another major problem. I submitted a traffic fine — no response for over a week. I submitted a fuel dispute twice — no response. Each time, I had to follow up again manually. It feels like you are left on your own unless you keep chasing them.
Earlier, I also had issues with the keyless system. SnappCar acknowledged the problem and agreed to refund certain fees, but that refund was never actually paid. This further reduces trust in the platform.
Another point I genuinely do not understand is the pricing structure. If I set my car rent at around €29, I receive about €20 after deductions. SnappCar deducts service fees and insurance from my side, but at the same time, the renter also pays service fees and insurance on top. This raises a simple question: why is insurance charged from both sides? It feels unclear and potentially like double deduction.
At this point, I am spending more time dealing with issues, support, and disputes than actually earning from the platform. What started as a simple and promising experience has turned into something stressful and inefficient.
Because of these ongoing problems — system instability, lack of support, unresolved payments, and unclear pricing — I am now seriously considering stopping with SnappCar and cancelling the keyless agreement altogether.

Terrible customer service! They are very quick to take your money and charge you 10x the rental price as a deposit for possible damages, but they don’t pay it back. It’s been almost two weeks and I still haven’t received my deposit despite constantly being in touch with their incompetent customer service. Scammers.

The communication with customer service and also with owner was good and fast. Although one owner gave the wrong info regarding location of the car and didn't reply to my messages. But another owner was very friendly and quick to reply.

It works quite well and it is cheaper than normal rents, but there are quite a few hidden costs:
- Extra charge for taking abroad that's only shown when checking out
- 10% SnappCar fee on extra kms that's only revealed after you have finished the journey

Snappcar locked/inactivate my account without notifying me. I contacted support and they told me that I am not able to enter the account anymore. They did nothing about it, they didn't even try to get me back in. It felt like a slap in the face.
The reason for the lock out is that i had to pay 250 euro's for a car damage. After I payed and everything, they just locked me out, no notification, nothing at all.
For this service I give it the baddest of all, nowhere ever did they treat me like this.
