Solid Rock is the business

Solid Rock is just what this company is. Like many we needed to upgrade our broadband/WiFi to get it to all areas of our home including the shed at the end of the garden. Within minutes of speaking to the engineer I knew I had struck lucky. A visit was quickly arranged, the engineer attended promptly and explained in words I could understand what was needed. I ordered the parts and the engineer returned today to complete the installation. Job done, even a day early, with complete professionalism but also with care and kindness and at a fair price. My IT experts for life now.

Quick and helpful

Very happy with Solid Rock! The team got back to my enquiry very quickly and offered a home visit for the next day. The engineer was friendly and helpful and explained step by step the data recovery service he was carrying out on my MacBook. Definitely recommended.

iMac graphics card replacement…

I needed the graphics card on my imac replaced and the advice I received from Solid Rock IT was exceptional. I was actually advised against this due to the age of my imac so they were effectively turning away business based on their honest expert opinion. As I had data I needed to recover I decided to go ahead anyway and was extremely satisfied with all my dealings with Solid Rock IT UK. They proactively kept me informed when I had to reschedule my appointment and were very accommodating working back late due to my availability. The engineer was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable and the work was carried out to a high standard. Their price was competitive and the customer service was superb as mentioned. I would use Solid Rock IT UK again with no hesitation and highly recommend their services.

I needed to upgrade the hard drive in…

I needed to upgrade the hard drive in my iMac to an SDD. The engineer arrived on time, was very friendly and engaging, and stayed until the job was done and I was happy. Computer now back up and running and so much faster! I wouldn’t hesitate to use Solid Rock again and recommend to friends and family. A very professional service.

Kicking myself for not calling Solid Rock sooner!

Kicking myself for not sorting our WiFi sooner!
The team at Solid Rock providing a discreet networking solution across three floors or our house to ensure we had a seamless connection everywhere.

They have helped us remove the single biggest cause of anguish in our household so I can’t thank them enough. They were super responsive and very personable from the first contact, during our network installation and even afterwards. From first survey to installation it only took 10 days.

Solid gold computer help

I've have called in Solid Rock twice once for a problem setting up a new computer and this week when I woke to find all my files had apparently vanished. The engineer I spoke to was incredibly quick to understand the problem and rapidly find a solution. They are a pleasure to deal with - friendly, efficient and jargon free. Highly recommended

First Class Service

I’ve had two first class services from Solid Rock IT:

Sept 2020:
Foolishly I had neglected to have regular health checks done on the desktop that Solid Rock IT repaired in early 2019. I contacted them again this week when my desktop unexpectedly gave up (it would not restart or respond to any of the DIY steps that Mac suggests on apple support). The Solid Rock IT Team were very quick to respond to my request for assistance and sent an Engineer to assist as soon as possible. It turned out there were issues with the Mac operating system that I’d recently upgraded to alongside a corruption of my user profile. Not only did the Engineer sort out the problem with the desktop, he also reformed my profile and enabled access to all the data I’d been worried might be lost. I also decided to upgrade the hardware on my laptop which had been running too slowly, this was installed quickly and the machine is working like a very different and newly purchased model - this is a far more economic way to upgrade a laptop and having it done from the comfort of home is also so much easier. Thank you Solid Rock IT.

Early 2019:
In a panic as a work from home freelancer on deadline I googled for Mac repair near me - thank goodness for the power of the search engine and the fact that it showed up Solid Rock IT! It was literally 2 mins before their listed closing time on a Friday night and they answered the phone (they could have just signed off for the weekend!) - the Engineer talked me through what I needed to do - and then we made a plan for a home visit (actually it turned out to be a couple of home visits and they flexibly worked around the commitments I already had ). Not only did the Engineer salvage my work, he did managed to install the upgrades on my computers that the devices had been rejecting (turns out there was a fault that he fixed that I just couldn’t have done myself) and then he health checked and troubleshot my desktop which is now working better than it has done in years.

For both times: The Engineer was personable, professional and knowledgable and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Solid Rock IT’s services to anyone.

The guys from Solid Rock lived up to their name

The guys from Solid Rock lived up to their name in repairing my malfunctioning computer. They arrived promptly and quickly identified a number of possible faults that could have been causing the problem. Much to my relief, having sorted these out one by one, they left the machine in good working order again. I would confidently recommend their services.

The engineer did a great job

The engineer did a great job. Our Wi-Fi is transformed ! We were struggling with our Wi-Fi in our London house. Despite it being ‘guaranteed ‘ by BT it didn’t really work in many areas . Through adding disks and a wired connection the engineer has now ensured we have Wi-Fi everywhere . Good job .

Absolutely brilliant service

Absolutely brilliant service, I could not be happier. Lovely guy who came out to fix my broken laptop, very friendly and got the problem fixed fast. Very reasonable price and they were able to send someone out so quickly. I’ve used several companies to repair broken devices and equipment over the years and they were by far the best.
I would absolutely recommend their services to anyone.

Horrible service

Horrible service. Was promised an appointment on Saturday, which then changed to Tuesday, then again to Wednesday. I had paid a deposit for the keyboard part I required and was told to pay the labour costs upon completion.

When my laptop was handed over, the spacebar was still fully operational. However, when it was returned back to me...not only was it not fixed, the spacebar has stopped working altogether. The technician assumed the job would only take 5 minutes and was held up for longer so consistently made rude jokes about him not getting paid because nothing is fixed.

It was my assumption that the technician had tried to fix the spacebar, but was unable to so returned it back to the standard I handed it over in. The technician required full payment EVEN THOUGH NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. In addition to this, I had to pay a £40 deposit on a part that ended up not even being used...and had to on my own accord, suggest the part be returned so I could be refunded.

There’s no other contact at this company, than the technician himself. Scammed out of £85 for a service not properly performed.

100% would not recommend.

This MacBook has the butterfly keyboard clip and the customer tried to replace the spacebar and totally damaged the keyboard. The enquiry for service didn't include details about the onboard LED light and retainers that held the keyboard clips in place being broken off during the DIY repair attempts by the customer.

The customer sat next to the engineer during the entire service so they could see the nature of the issue at hand.

Our engineers always have a genuine desire to help our customers, which is why we exist in the first place. We did everything possible to rectify this severely damaged keyboard, but it wasn't possible to save a lost cause, it was too far gone so nothing else could be done, regardless of our good intentions and expertise - the keyboard spacebar mechanism simply kept falling apart and the customer saw all of this, so there were no surprises on their side.

The engineer then advised the customer that they will need to replace the keyboard if they wish to use the spacebar going forward.

We always make every effort to help our customers and offered to return the replacement part so the customer wouldn't have to pay the full repair cost. There was never a moment of argument or exchange of rude remarks between the customer or engineer and we close out the service session with each being happy about the time taken and an appreciation of the fees charged, which the customer gladly paid.

It is not our style of doing bad business or treating our customers unfairly, so most of the remarks mentioned in this feedback are totally untrue and not directly written by the customer - here's why:

On the following day, we received a call from a person claiming at first to be the father of the customer, then after coming back on the call, he claimed to be the boyfriend. When asked how we can help, there were lots of rude remarks, swearing and verbal abuse towards the engineer - it was necessary for us to end the call after explaining to the caller that we do not tolerate abuse in any form and that he could be reported.

Looking at the content of this feedback, it is clear that the customer didn't wrote this review, but somehow the second caller felt like he should make a case when he wasn't at the onsite location of the service in the first place.

Natasha, you know the truth about the service, everything that happened during the session and how we tried tirelessly to help you, so this testimonial hit well below the belt and you should not condone anyone using your name or personal details online for misrepresentation or false claim, as this could affect your reputation in the future.

Hopefully this provide enough clarity and highlight the truth about what really happens.
