This service is awful

This service is awful. They're the only company who will license covers without a recurring fee and they SURE do take advantage of that fact. Slow processing times, constant bugs on the site, ludicrous restrictions on things like art & title (which other distributors don't do), and poor support. Do NOT use these guys. Just put your covers on YouTube, this isn't worth it.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I have asked for them to delete my account and they flatly refuse. I have no active tracks with them and one track that is just sat there but inactive.

The response I got was “ Due to the nature of our platform, we like to keep tracks around! This means that, while we are happy to remove an album or single that you've created, we are unable to remove tracks from your account.”

Simply not good enough and is a flagrant breach of privacy laws and the right to be forgotten. What are these companies using our music for that they are not telling us about? Why do they need to keep your track even if it hasn’t been distributed?

My experience has been positive. The cover song licensing is very affordable and they even gave my music a share from there social accounts which was a nice surprise.

fraud apple, tidal, deezer

I have been using soundrop for 4 years and I have questioned the service for the past 2 years, from apple revenue, tidal, deezer and youtube they don't give revenue, for no reason they don't monetize and royalties aren't given, this is a form of fraud theft, because so far it's only spotify and facebook but for other platforms there is no royalty, some friends also use other streaming platforms such as tidal, deezer but what is included in the stream is not given. as this company is a child of cd baby they earn $6M profit no wonder they are crooks, thieves.

Service worse after asking for upload fee

This is the second time a release has been delayed. I uploaded everything over two weeks ago and set the release date for today which is plenty of time according to their website. Not only is it not live on Spotify (probably THE most popular platform) it's not even up on YouTube when soundrop has it listed as live. Seriously what is going on here? And now it costs money to upload when their service is worse than it's ever been??? This is the last time I will ever use soundrop for music distribution. Totally and utterly unprofessional. You have ONE job to distribute music and you can't get that right.

It's just way too wonky

It's just way too wonky, releases won't get out on time and they lie about you being able to change release dates manually, pretty much it locks the release for the entire process. Support is useless. Its cheap and good for covers, but it's way too frustrating to try to use for regular releases.

Stay away at all cost

They literally talk over half a year to take down music (maybe even longer as it is still not gone from every platform). The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. They will assure you that stuff is done in 2-3 days and then it takes several months without any information. How about you stop lying to me and just give me a realistic estimate? well they basically stole my music as it is impossible to remove it now. I should never have left distrokid and I will return to them now. At least they have a working platform.

Unusable mobile website

Uploaded and PAID for a song. PAID to upload! (???)
The website is absolutely ATROCIOUS on mobile, even exiting for 5 seconds will reload the page. This could just be my RAM, but its 100% Soundrop's fault that ALL of my track info (artist, wav file, etc.) gets deleted and restarted when the page is reloaded. Rediculous considering millions of websites save in real time, its not that hard to do! Do you need a new developer? Support is awful. I filled out all required fields and got to the very last step (lock & distribute) but upon clicking this it just closes the popup and alas, nothing happens. The help buttons (?) do not work on the mobile site (dont tell me you dont fully support mobile devices, bullsh!t. This site has been around for a couple YEARS this shouldnt be an issue. 1 star.

Good distributor

Great distributor. I made the mistake of setting a date too early and that's why it's still processing. I've used Soundrop in the past and had no problems.

Whatever you say.....I am still with Soundrop for reasons

Whatever you say, I still with Soundrops with pay $0.99/song although I have PRO plan somewhere else I could have used so I am torn in between great services of places that I am using. Each of them has their own unique services that I like so I use both places although I pay extra $. Other places I like is that I get to sign/sync placement my songs with them :-) which is very sweet that they discovered me. Things I like Soundrop are: 1/ My songs are on all music platforms forever (if I died, you never know when :-) I know my listeners can still listen to my songs I just want to be honest). 2/ I always have real human chat when I need them, also they email me with their suggestions you can tell because they are not copy and paste :-), they really put their thought on emails when they send me 3/ Monthly money wire to my account every month on time 4/ Raw nice report send to my email every month by country, by channel, by song etc... 5/ They send me confirmations on stores after they sent my releases and songs release on stores within 5 business days.

Soundrop don't have lots of stores like others but they are adding in, they don't have all services like others so depends on how you think important for you to use their services. If any changes on their services, I will update you guys.

Eh where is my money, where is my album....?

Eh, I set up many albums with them both when they were free, and now as they charge a small fee. they're usually very quick, but with my latest album, it's a mess, and after asking for a refund I haven't received one ....yet. The stats system is kinda off, they show a world map where all the countries are listening to your music,,... $20 here in France, $12 here in China,,, but you never see that money. I don't think s.d. is even aware of this, and now that I wrote this they'll probably delete that stat tool.... I never cared about the money much I just wanted to get my music out there, which worked, again up until my latest release... please refund me, so I can go back to cdbaby to release the album. Thanks.

My bad experience with Soundrop

I was using Soundrop since 2020. I never had issues with their tech support or problems with my releases.
Sadly starting 2022, my releases were delayed by 3-4 days which is really annoying when you already made your whole planning on your social media.
Then in this month (July by the time i'm writing this), I had a problem with my release because of matching audio (it was because I was using a sample pack acapella) and I said "okay i'll just message support since they usually take a day to answer", but I never got a response until this day (July 26th, 2022).

I tried to get an answer by using the live chat, but when I tried to, the bot said that "it wasn't available" not even on the business hours or days.

I also tried to get an answer via Twitter but the person behind the account told me and I repeat "Hi there, what's going on? Note that this is the social team, which is different from the support team." Meaning that they couldn't help me at all.

It's sad because I'm in love with what Soundrop offers against its competitors which are: Small fee to distribution, no extra fee to have your song up on streaming services and no YouTube networking (which is helpful for me because I want my music to be 100% free to use). But this bad experience of not getting an answer by the support and the excessive amount of time to approve a song is a super red flag to me.

In my humble opinion, go search another platform.

So far so good for me. Pay on time, nice monthly statement and more

I have been with Soundrop since 2019. They are fast when delivering to stores, it’s about a week for most stores though they have less stores but they are adding in more stores. I also like their email notification to tell me that my songs are released. The only store did not go thru was the Pandora. I think I submitted myself, it went thru and Pandora is in Soundrop report for me as well. I always get paid on time or few days earlier which is a sweet surprise😃. I like the way they send my payment directly to my PayPal or bank. I also like their raw materials statement which they email me monthly. I know some people do not like their report but I do because I use their raw report to export to excel to PowerPoint for my own chart. Raw data is pretty cool by store by country by song etc… it is very clear report. I like the raw statement just the way it is; besides I just know they process the statement manually; I appreciate their human report😃. I often get their email response between 48 hours. I usually email them if I can’t find any tips from Sandra bots. They used to have the human real chat, not anymore; it may be shortage of staff during pandemic; but email works just fine for me. I will update pro and con along the way but so far so good, no complaints😃

Simple procedure, but niglecting and NO REPSONSE.

The procedure is simpler than other sites for releasing the cover songs.
However, they neglected my songs for a month and didn't respond at all.
You will face only the auto response. Which means you won't be able to get paid at all even if something would go wrong.

I was using soundrop for about 4 years…

I was using soundrop for about 4 years so i was a loyal user who chose to use their service as an outlet for my creativity until today where i received over a hundred emails notifying me that i had been locked out of my account and all of my music that i have ever released will be taken down and i will not recieve any revinue for my recent work (one track got over 250,000 plays). over my 4 years of being with them i have probably had over 500,000 streams but no more than £40 (gbp)
STAY AWAY. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR WORK AND THEORETICALLY BURN IT WHILST NOT PAYING YOU.

Devistated would be an understatement...

Their support is absolutely terrible

Their support is absolutely terrible. As long as there are no issues with your release, then Soundrop is fine. I've used Soundrop for a couple of years now, and it's been relatively smooth. But recently, I had an album go unreleased for 2 months. So this was my first run-in with their "support". Over the course of 2 months, I reached out to "support" on a weekly basis, and I received ONE response, about a month later. And they didn't even fix anything either. Eventually, the issue just solve itself, but I was still left completely in the dark and there was no communication whatsoever.
