Overpriced and a complete let down
This restaurant looked promising. Once the food arrived everything changed. The pizzas were bland. The sauce had little to no taste at all and the size of pizza for the price left much to be desired. We had to lace our food with chilli oil to give it any taste at all. I recommend you do not eat at this restaurant as it will leave you extremely disappointed. To top it off they add a 13% service charge, which is extremely disgusting considering the pizzas were just over £15 each. Very disappointing.
We travelled from Leeds for a few days…
We travelled from Leeds for a few days last year and had the most amazing time here So much so that when we returned to London today we were looking forward to the same.
Please don’t be misled by the “family restaurant “ hook on the website. It has changed hands and it is laughable. Long waits, bread you can hilariously knock out a tune on the table with whilst you wait for service. Also be sure to read the other reviews whilst you wait….and wait. Chase the drinks you ordered 40 minutes ago…go make your own dinner!!!!!
Spaghetti house, before you answer saying these reviews help you learn, you’ve had more of these same awful reviews than there were hairs in my chips and yet you’re not learning.
Don't go there.....
Don't go there.....
we have been inside to eat at this restaurant, we were treated as if we were an inconvenience, the restarant was dirty and the waiter was angry and rude. On top of this, one of us got samunella poisoning and therefore missed his flight the next day.
A crappy restaurant.
How times have changed
As a young lad my mum and dad used to take me to this chain. Wonderful! Now long retired I took some old colleagues out to the Sicilian Avenue branch. Sour faced and sullen staff. Poor food . Charged 13.5% service ( not really discretionary unless you want to make it an issue in front of friends) This particular branch I hope is not representative of what used to be the quintessential Italian experience, especially the Goodge St branch. If this Holborn venue makes any money they do not deserve to. Note to management. Have a clear out. Learn from Prezzo, Bella Italia and just about anyone else. You are too important an institution to allow such decline.
No manners
No manners. Rude customer service at Bond Street Venue. Couldn't get along from the very first minute. Decided to walk away
It was my first time coming to…
It was my first time coming to spaghetti house, I ordered a scoglio, which a lovely waitress recommended, she was very helpful and made my experience amazing
Absolutely Shocking Service
My husband and I visited this restaurant on 30th September 2022. Having booked over a month before our visit we were really looking forward to it. We had tickets for the theatre and chose this restaurant as it looked lovely.
How disappointed we were. There wasn’t anything that was good!!!! The food was bland & tasteless. It was awful!!!! The service was diabolical and when we complained we were told that it wasn’t their fault as they were understaffed!!!! Absolute rubbish as the staff were standing around a lot of the time doing very little. They didn't even come to our table once to ask if everything was ok. We asked to be moved and were totally ignored. I informed the manager that I didn’t want to pay and that I was 'paying under protest' he just gave me an email address to complain to. I have since complained and heard nothing!!!!! I will now be taking my grievances to the Retail Ombudsman and I will make sure that I review this restaurant with the negativity they deserve. I have never had such poor service and food in a restaurant before like this one!!!!! We actually left half of our drinks as we couldn't get out quick enough. Avoid at all costs!!!!!
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever
The waiter’s attitude towards us, cannot explain how unprofessional and sarcastic.
Quality of food- disappointing, everything looked like expired, salad expired, veal meat had a dark colour and awkward smell, sides oily and cold etc . Did not touch any of the 5 dishes that we’ve ordered and we just got ignored by everyone there like nothing happened. Do not go there if you don’t want to ruin your day and go home hungry and angry or with a food poisoning.
Never ever will go back there!! Shame on you!
Food Poisoning Covent Garden
I got really bad food poisoning from the Spaghetti House restaurant in Covent Garden. I wish I had checked the reviews before I went as the service was as awful as the overall experience. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND THE DAY IN YOUR BATHROOM
I went here for lunch with my friend…
I went here for lunch with my friend today, was very disappointed and underwhelmed, the food arrived luke warm, the dessert arrived and it was wrong. Lastly, most horrifying is that when the bill was brought over he also brought over the card machine, didn't show us the bill and told us the amount, then gave the bill afterwards. I definitely shall not be going back here xx
Food good but service was below par!
Nice looking restaurant, great food but service was lacking. Because of the busy location we felt rushed and when the waiter brought me a drink I hadn’t ordered he tutted like I was unwelcome! Needless to say I didn’t pay the discretionary 12.5% service charge.
Had a meal in the Westfield Shepards…
Had a meal in the Westfield Shepards Bush restaurant last night.
No pizzas, No dough balls which we were advise of on entry but my Lasagna was less than half the usual size and my wife spaghetti with spicy tomato was a joke.
Asked by the waitress if the meal was ok and when we said no she simply said …, we you have eaten some of it so it can’t be that bad.
12.5% service automatic service added which they wouldn’t reduce so if you fancy a crap meal with rude staff and waiting ages for one of the two drink then waste your hard earned in this terrible restaurant.
Possibly the very worst food ever
Possibly the very worst food I have ever had in any place ever. It would have been better to have bought spaghetti carbonara at Marks and Spencers and ask the restaurant to heat it up.
Visited Woodstock yesterday evening.
Visited Woodstock yesterday evening.
Food is not with the price , nothing like. Customer service was OK but could be better
I visited spaghetti house on bond…
I visited spaghetti house on bond Street, Woodstock, if I could I would give them minus, horrible customer service and the food. To top it off whilst I was there I overheard a conversation with boss/manager and a staff member and It was shocking. they were treating a staff member different because they was not from thier homeland.
Had an amazing time
Had an amazing time at the spaghetti house on sicillian avenue, the waiters were super attentive and the one who looked after us was probably the best waiter I’ve had in a long time, super funny and engaging and didn’t miss anything at all, food was great aswell which I don't normally expect from chain restaurants, but this one blew me away.
Now it wouldn’t be a review without the negative points, as we’re only allowed to dine outdoors it was cold, outdoor heating is needed and my girlfriend told me the toilet was too small(had to stand on the seat to close the door) but to be honest it didn’t really bother us at all due to having the amazing service and food.
Mediocre Food, Awful Service
The food was OK but nothing special. My kids were all happy with their pizzas and my wifes pasta seemed OK, my starter (tomato bruchetta) was very salty though but the worst bit was my main course. I had the mushroom pizza which sounded lovely on the menu - wild mushrooms, gorgonzola cheese and truffle oil (which I love). Unfortunately rather than a drizzle of oil for flavour this this was swimming in oil, with large pools of it all over the pizza, which whilst I love the flavour of truffle oil just made the texture of the whole pizza awful; oily and greasy. None-the-less for the price I though the food was OK, until I received the bill.
I'd chosen to eat there because there were advertising a half price speical offer (part of the governments Eat Out to Help Out scheme). When the bill came the discount was wrong, I checked the maths using my phone and realised they'd applied half price to mine and my wife's meals but none of the kids food. I assumed it was just a mistake which would be easy to fix but the following series of events was where the customer service just became appauling;
- The manager in the restaurant wasn't able to explain why the discount was wrong, after I explained it to him he still seemed lost and over his head and just told me I'd have to pay and contact head office who would check it and refund any overcharge
- I reluctantly did so, because I was on holiday and didn't want to waste my time arguing
- When I emailed their head office they said that childrens meals weren't included in the offer. I sent them a link to the government guidance which made clear they were and they replied that they'd decided not to include them. Aside from the fact they aren't allowed to change the schemes the first I heard of this was the day after I ate there as it wasn't mentioned on their menu or anywhere in their posters for the offer.
All in all I wouldn't eat here again. The food isn't awful but isn't anything special and certainly not enough to make up for the poor service and the fact that they charge you more than their menu and advertising says they will. I wish I'd read all the other
reviews when deciding where to eat so I'd known to go elsewhere!
Awful place avoid at all cost
Awful place avoid at all cost. Staff are miserable like there dog has died and I’m not being funny if you don’t like your job leave simple and that big dope with the glasses is deffo in wrong job. Took ages for food to come and even served people who came after us with food before even asking for our drinks order. Never again will I go there. It’s also freezing cold no atmosphere and seats are like a park bench rock hard. The place needs a shake up !!!! Wake up owner before your business goes to floor.!!!
Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience. Took for ages to seat me. Took ages to take order. When my sparkling water coffee finally appeared there was no apology of time it took. Then had to ask for bread as they never asked. Finally food arrived Luke warm and tasted of nothing and I mean nothing just some tomato sauce stuff over some spaghetti. Also like a child’s portion, lucky I ordered bread. Also froze and whole place was Not properly heated even staff said it was freezing when I paid my bill for just one, me of £26. I have no idea how this place has been open for as long as they claim absolutely amazing. Not once did any one apologies.
