Hearing aid choice

During my audiology appointment I particularly asked for small silver hearing aids but was told that only grey or pink plastic ones are available on the NHS. This is not true. Silver hearing aids are available on the NHS - just don’t go to Specsavers.

The arm of my spectacles had fallen off. I took it back to Specsavers, Cumbernauld. It was quite busy and I had to wait to be served, but the customer service given by Melissa Lewis was great. Well done. She checked the computer and advised that my glasses were still under warranty and made the effort to fix them. Thank you.

Bideford store - usual poor service, avoid.

Booked eye test online, did a nearly 40 mile round trip to be told I would have to pay for the test despite being over 60, as I was not due for another 2 months - no mention of this when booking online or the confirmation phone call.
While waiting for the manager another customer informed me she thought they were useless, and I have to agree.
Shambles of a place, very unprofessional.

Totally frustrated

I will make this concise.
I purchased two, in the ear, hearing aids for £1500.
I am a regular visitor to S/Savers because my ear pieces are failing me. I am just about to have my 12th set! This of course is time/cost to me.
I can not complain about the audio director and his staff and the efforts they have made. My complaint is about the manufacturer of the pieces and the inability of S/Savers to put any sort of pressure on them. Yes I get a new set( I sometimes wonder) but not once, despite requests, have the manufacturers disclosed what the regular faults are. I wish to know as once I am out of guarantee if the pieces fail, which I am sure they will, am I going to be told -“sorry you need a new set”, £1.500 please ? Am I asking too much? Surely S/Savers should have a better rapport with the manufacturer. I should add that the Director has tried everything he can by giving me a free upgrade, and a free set of rechargeable pieces, but I wanted pieces in the ear and not visible for which I paid £1500.
Anyway, frustration rant over - oh yes, my latest replaced piece some two weeks ago has failed twice. I give up

Home visits for Hearing aids

Home visit for earing aids for my grandma have been a total waste of money, time and caused my gran so much stress. She has had them 5 months and has had to wait 1 month between appointments. When I mentioned a refund the guy said she only has 100 days for a refund but she has complained since receiving them. He had no empathy with a 93 yr old, spoke to his computer in a mumbled voice and seemed to get angry with her responses. He changed his tune when I mentioned section 75. I wish I had been with her at previous visits. Would not recommend at all.

Specsavers Audiology Thame.

Specsavers Thame.
They sent my hearing aids away for repair. When they were returned to me they had the same issue as before. I was pretty sure the audiologist wasn't listening to me and now I have to go back and start again. I can't get a repair appointment in Thame for a month so I have to drive to the next town but still wait a week. They seem to be just interested in selling. Aftersales is just something they're compelled to give.

Bought an expensive pair of glasses in 2022 costing over 250 pounds after 2 years the frame broke I went into specsavers they said they couldn't repair the frame and offered me a half price replacement they ommited the fact that I would need to purchase new lens at 215 pounds which they offered to discount to 107.50 my original lens was fine it was the frame they didn't stock they conveniently let many frames go out of stock after a year so you have to buy new lenses it's a rip off to be honest

I recently visited specsavers for an…

I recently visited specsavers for an eye test and lens check which cost £50. Having been told my vision had changed I was offered a lens trial. I collected my trail lenses a few days later but they didn’t seem right. I made another appointment to sort them out where I was told I had astigmatism in my one eye and they had tried to mask this with the lenses that they’d ordered me. I was then told that I would need a special type of lens for this and it would cost me another consultation fee of £25 and I’d have to pay for the lenses ordered. I’m absolutely disgusted that I was not told this in my initial eye check and given an option to trial the “special lenses”. When I questioned it I was told nope you’ve had your free trial and basically tough. Then I asked if I could have my prescription, the response I got was you can have the prescription for the lenses originally trialled (which is wrong) but not the correct prescription for what I apparently need. I cannot believe how uncaring and insensitive the staff were stating rules are rules when the so called rules were not even explained to me. So now I am left with blurred vision, the wrong prescription and no way to sort this out unless I pay extra. Well my money will certainly NOT be going to Specsavers!

Specsavers Advance Super hearing aids

My 86 year old mother bought a pair of Specsavers Advance Super last year. My husband downloaded the app to her iPhone as she’s having problems hearing the iPhone and tv. Might as well not bother. TV tuned in but iPhone can’t be connected. We paid just shy of £2000. Waste of money. My husband has just been fitted with NHS blue tooth hearing aids for free. The app they work through allows him to connect directly with his iPhone and via his loop, the tv. Unlike my mum’s hearing aids, he can still hear the tv when it’s turned down to silent. The app can be altered to suit different settings such as restaurants and they can attach to public loop systems.
Absolutely disgusting that the free NHS hearing aids are so superior to Specsavers £2000 private hearing aids. Never again will we go private for them.

Specsavers Advance Premium Hearing Aids

Specsavers Sydney service was excellent - their hearing aids Advance Premium hardware is useless.
Phone calls only speak in one ear with android phones.
Human voices sound more like dogs barking than human voices. Need to first remove earphones every time and then call person back when receiving a phone call. Don't waste your money on the Advance Premium earphones.

A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME

Turned up for my appointment on time. Waited 15 mins after my appointment time. Was thanked for my patience but I said I would only wait another 5 mins. The lady went away and came back saying nobody would be available for 10 mins. This took me to 25 mins after my appointment time. I walked out and reminded myself that was why I stopped using this company several years ago. Far too many patients crammed into too short a time span for the number of staff. A total waste of time.

Unreliable Charging for Hearing Aids

My partner has Specsavers hearing aids and while she is delighted with hearing aids, charging them is a nightmare. The aids slot in to the charging box to make a touch connection. Sometimes they connect and sometimes they don’t. Even when the indicator lights show they are charging, often they don’t. Sometimes they show they charged in the middle of the night but in the morning they are only part charged. The charging system is just not reliable.

Specsavers Bar Hill

Quite honestly the first experience and initial test by the lady at Specsavers was good.
However when i went to collect my hearing aids, the gentleman that i saw was pretty terrible, he just wanted me gone, and there was little to no briefing on how things worked.
I was expecting to be asked to come back it a few weeks to see how things were going, bearing in mind that i just spent £2000 with them.
But no! their after sales service is non existent. All they want is the money, and don't give a damn about after sales.
