Speechify Misrepresentation/scam

If it possible to leave zero stars I would do that gladly.

This is the email I sent their support team.

"Hi Speechify, my email is **********

I’ve been a Premium user for 0 days (0 hours, 30 minutes into my trial). I have Speechify installed on Android. I subscribed with Web, and was billed through stripe. I later unsubscribe but it doesn't work cos it shows cancelled on the website but when I open the speechify app it still registers as premium.

My card was also billed $1 (11.85GHS) when I subscribed eventhough you clearly showed that I won't be charged.

Attached below are screenshots of the aforementioned."

I attached the screenshots in the mail. First, I was asked if I would like a discount coupon. I declined and received another email stating that I will be refunded in 2 -3 business days meanwhile all I asked for was for them to change the status of the Speechify app to cancelled, since it reflected on their website as cancelled. I'm waiting for the trial period to pass to see if truly, my cancellation has gone through. I will go ahead and delete the app cos it's left a bad taste in my mouth.

Billing nightmare + useless “support” — refused refund for software that doesn’t work

Speedify has been one of the worst software purchases I’ve made.

First: the product doesn’t reliably work in a real-world multi-WAN setup. The whole reason I bought Speedify was redundancy/bonding. Instead, when any one WAN connection flaps (Starlink being the obvious example), Speedify can drop the entire tunnel across ALL connections, including links that are perfectly stable. “Redundant mode” is supposed to handle instability — in my experience it does the opposite and takes everything down.

Second: the billing/licensing is a mess. They push a “router” license, but in practice it’s not clear what you’re actually getting versus a normal plan. It feels like confusing upsell tactics rather than clear, honest packaging.

Third (and worst): support is awful. Slow/nonresponsive, and when they do reply it’s mostly generic canned responses that don’t address the actual issue. It comes across as outsourced script-reading, not technical support. I repeatedly had to restate the same problem and still didn’t get a real solution.

Finally: when I asked for a refund due to the product not working as advertised for my use case, they refused. So I paid for software that actively made my connectivity worse, and they still wouldn’t make it right.

If you need stability for work calls (Teams/Zoom), or you’re buying Speedify specifically for “redundancy,” I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. In my experience this is an over-promising, under-delivering product backed by poor support and aggressive/unhelpful billing behavior.

Once you enroll in a subscription, there is no taking your money back. The support will gaslight you into thinking they refunded everything, whilst doing none of that. The people talking to you will switch, just to keep the illusion of doing something, but you will never receive your money back.
The service is nothing more but a glorified VPN, which doesn't even work half the time. You want a stable and reliable connection for gaming? Then please, look for something else.

I'm grateful they exist.

My use case was Starlink + iPhone tether with AT&T. I live in ruralish Alaska and unfortunately also have the hobby of playing MMOs, so getting disconnected became infuriatingly common. Starlink had too many dropouts, the phone by itself was more stable but couldn't handle the packet throughput during pvp and kicked me out that way.

Using the service in redundant connection mode seriously improves the reliability. It's not perfect, sometimes both fail at the same time, which tells you how bad it was without this, but I'd say roughly 95% of fails are protected now. There's some performance hit in terms of speed and ping for connecting to their servers, but that's a price I'd happily play to actually get to play the game.

It gives you stats on failovers and data usage and it's correct. My internet is bad, and it's doing its best to compensate.

I got a 80% discount on the 3 year plan for the holidays. $3 a month for this is a very good deal, when the alternative is doing a bunch of home networking, buying my own router and server, and other network wizardry I would have to spend nearly $1k on and dozens of hours of headaches. For a plug and play solution, this was exactly what I was looking for, and I don't think there is any other option, literally. I'm grateful they exist.

It doesn't seem to work at all

It doesn't seem to work at all.

It makes the connections slower than either of the connections individually and it makes my browser think I'm in a foreign country.

Their own internal speed tests give inconsistent results and the streaming check just crashes.

I understand that this is a technically challenging concept - but there's little point in paying for a service that doesn't work.

Well first this service is used by scammers Or owned by scammers.I had someone steal my credit card info. I ask google speedify to correct the the problem. And since the accounts would have the criminals info like name and address ip address. Should be easy to fix and for me to file a police report.
I would not trust or use there service taking your credit card info I also seen where there take money from service members with out there consent.Maybe I'm wrong but why fight the bank and the police over fraud unless you have something to do with it thank and good luck people

Does not speed up your internet

I was mostly interested about the possibility to combine bandwith of two internet connections. One over ethernet and another over wifi. I tested without subscription. Installed the app, connected to both internet sources and tested the speed. According to speedtest.net the speed was slower with speedify on than just using one of my existing connections. So it clearly is not able to utilize both internet connections or there is some obstacles in their server network which yield the combined internet being slower. I ended up unisntalling the app just few minutes after installing it.

Charged for Annual Renewal Against My Consent

Was sent a warning email by Speedify.com that my account would auto renew and I would be charged if my account was configured to auto renew. I logged in and checked my settings to confirm it would not auto renew and was greeted with this message "This subscription will not renew after the term end" Yay, problem solved, glad I checked because I haven't used Speedify in months. Then I receive an email with a paid receipt for another one year subscription along with a $112 charge on my visa.

Not working

I wish I had read the reviews before subscribing, it doesn't work. the idea is good, but only the idea to bind 2 wifi. it never reaches a high speed and it is even lower than a single wifi. I asked for a refund, and they just sent me they needed a screenshot of the internet speed. I will see where that will end and update the review

Download speeds suck, but like the other features

Download speeds suck - I get the occasional burst of speed, but mostly it is slower than my slowest connection even though I scan for the fastest server regularly. Come on Speedify, upgrade your servers and bandwidth!

I have 2 x DSL and 1 x 5G and it doubles my upload speed, so that is good.
If you have an unlimited Mobile plan, why not link that in and get the added benefit...

Also, it does stabalise the connection and provide automatic failover, which is great to have (without extra hardware)

Terribly slow...

This app is called Speedify, yet it is the slowest VPN I've ever seen. While activated, pages take ages to load, I can't even SPEAK on Whatsap with a 500 mbit/s connexion. So I have to cut it off...

By the way, it doesn't have bypass for Spotify and and other services despite asking for it meaning it won't allow it to work.
