Hired tower scaffolding. Delivery and pick-up went well. One or two components showed sign of wear but it did the job fine and could be erected by one person. Price was good for the project.

I placed an order on Sunday and cancelled Monday morning. I was advised a credit would be applied in 3-5 days. Rang on the Friday and was advised “it’s been processed. Give it another day or two”. I rang the following Thursday and was transferred to a dept who took my card details. They said “we don’t store card details so the only way to issue a credit would be to take your card details and credit back”.
If I hadn’t persisted, I wouldn’t have received my money back. Frustrating but sorted due to my persistence.

I hired the piece of equipment for 1 day, it was delivered at 1pm and the delivery driver informed me that they wouldn't be able to collect the equipemt on the same day. I then had to store the equipment over night which I wasn't planning on doing. 16:30 the next day I got a phone call saying they wouldn't be collecting my equipment again. Eventually on the 3rd day they came and collected the equipment. I am still waiting on my deposit to be refunded (7 days after I hired the equipment) I am also yet to find out whether they will be billing me for the two extra days where they weren't able to pick it up. Aswell as all this the equipment was supposed to come with a full tank of fuel however it when it arrived it had a tiny amount in.

I needed to hire a concrete grinder to prepare a garage floor for painting and found Speedy via Google.
From the first email to the last they were extremely helpful in answering any questions I had to ensure i had hired the right equipment for the job.
I used the delivery and collection service as it was very reasonably priced and I would 100% do so again as they delivered and collected on time send messages to update along the way.
The driver couldn't have been more helpful when it became clear on delivery I had forgotten to order a 110V transformer and leads calling into the depot going above and beyond to get one of the staff members who lived near by to drop it off on his way home at the end of the day.
Will 100% use Speedy again for any future hire needs after what was a 5 Start service.

Awful from start to finish. Charged 6 weeks hire with no communication to say the scaffolding was still there after a faild collection? . Phone call wouldn't of hurt. Then aftercare ridiculous. Money grabbing through terms and conditions ! Avoid this company

I'd like to comment on a superior service from Alfie (SpeedyHire Southampton) who when we recieved the wrong tower, immediately returned and brought the right one back in under an hour as he understood our dilemma with needing to use it immediately. His service and helpful attitude is much appreciated and we will use SpeedyHire Southampton in the future because of it.

Equipment arrived in time. However, very poor communication for delivery and collection. No way to track any of them, not even via the app as they say.
I received a vague SMS on a Friday saying I was next for collection, so I left work early to be home — but no one ever showed up. By 5:30 PM the offices were closed, and I was left with no way to follow up, aside from the emergency customer support who offered zero help or explanations.
I had to lift and position a heavy item for easy pickup, only to be stuck storing it over the weekend, which was never agreed upon. Frustrating experience as I did not anticipate having to find space (and the responsibility) to safely store the equipment for another whole weekend.

I hired a floor sander for the second time, as the firs time the machine broke on day 2 and couldn't finish the job, Within 1 hour of sanding, the machine today also stopped working. I brought the machine back and they couldn't fix it. Everyone was super nice, trying to find a machine in a different location and finally there was one in reading , but this was 3:30 and they close at 5. Shoutout to Zoe for digging and finding any posible alternative for me. Thanks to her and Alfie from speedy Southampton , whom offer to pick it up and get his time changed, I wouldn't have been able to finish the job. He was super nice, message me with updates and delivered the machine straight to my house at 18:30 when he was supposed to finish at 5. Thank you so so much! (this one works, and better than the previous two as well XD)

Would not recommend for skip hire. Hired a skip ready for a kitchen renovation. Originally, I'd hired the skip to come on the Friday so that it was there ready for the works which were starting on the following Tuesday. They called a day or two before the skip was due to arrive asking if they could drop it off on the Tuesday. I agreed but only on the basis that it was dropped off first thing as it would be needed right away for the renovation - I was told this wouldn't be a problem. On the Tuesday it still hasn't arrived by 10am and works had already started. When I called, they said it would arrive between 11-12. By this point I already had a lot of rubbish which needed to go into the skip. At 12:30 the skip still hadn't arrived and when I called they said they had just left so it would be 20 minutes. It finally arrived at 1:45. I'm pregnant, and the whole point of hiring a skip to arrive before works started was that I wouldn't have to do any heavy lifting. This left me in a position where I had to clear the renovation work myself into the skip. I submitted a complaint and received no response. Terrible service.

This company is sub contracted to Thermaright (a machine hire solutions provider). The company phoned me a day before delivery of a cherry picker informing me that the model I wanted was not available and could they deliver another.
I replied that that was fime providing it was an off road vehicle similar to the one I wanted.
The cherry picker was delivered next morning when I had informed them I wouldn't be home until the afternoon.
Next day was Good Friday weekend and we had a window of opportunity to paint our building.
Unfortunately the cherry picker was not designed for rough terrain so we could not complete our job.
I called first thing on the Tuesday morning (after Bank Holiday) to ask for a resolution (we had paid £594). Five days later I have still no reply.
I would really like another Cherry Picker like the one I ordered originally so I can book labour in again to complete the job.
After the initial response from Thermaright I am still awaiting a response. It would seem that Thermaright are struggling to get a response from Speedy Hire
