Spotify Support: 3 months of lies and GDPR violations.
I've been fighting since Dec 23rd, 2025. Spotify Support disabled my account for no reason and promised a library transfer (Ref: 40322278) to a new account. I followed every instruction, but they let the 7-day technical window expire due to THEIR OWN internal delays. Now, they are using GDPR Art. 12 as an excuse to stall for another 30 days while withholding my personal data (350+ songs). This is an absolute disgrace. Negligent, incompetent, and disrespectful of EU consumer rights.

Unfortunately my account got hacked and was accused of making illegal copies outside of the app., they suspended permanently my account without even given me a chance to explain
And was judged. Very, very unfairly. The worst part of it I t they haven't even got the decency, but it's a reply to my emails and send me automated responses, luckily, I have Apple Music, and a few others that are probably better as far as bigger selection in music. And on this basis, I do not recommend Spotify. And if I could give them a lower star, I would overpriced and stink customer service. That's what you get

i really love spotify but the fact that my whole account got reset, my playlist was refreshed with songs i had never heard of, and to complete that, the support team took forever to reply. i understand that they are dealing with multiple people at the same time, but please, hurry up! im still bummed that i haven't been able to get my account back. im VERY disappointed and sad spotify. :'(
Advertisements in podcasts on Spotify Premium — unacceptable experience
I am a paying Spotify Premium subscriber, and I still hear ads when listening to podcasts on the platform. The expectation of Premium is an ad-free experience, and this includes podcasts.
These ads interrupt episodes, sometimes before they start or during playback, even when downloaded for offline listening. This feels like misleading advertising from Spotify and reduces the value of the subscription.
I understand that creators may include sponsorships, but ads inserted by Spotify dynamically — especially for Premium users — are frustrating and contradict what Premium is supposed to offer.
Please clarify this policy and consider providing an opt-out or clearer communication about ads for podcast listeners who pay for Spotify Premium.
Many other users have shared similar frustrations, so I hope this feedback helps bring attention to it

I wausing the standard premium (R69.99) then when it was time to make the payment, Spotify didn't withdraw like usual and canceled my premium. When I went to make the payment it offered me Lite (no offline downloads) at the price of premium and then premium is now (99.99). I've been using it for more than 4 years and these new plans are absolute nonsense. I won't pay 99.99 just to download and listen to music offline

Absolutely dreadful. 0 stars if I could. Been a Spotify customer since 2009 and I'll never be back. Unable to change my country to my home country after being outside of the country for more than 2 weeks. Unable to set up a new premium because my bank account from my home country doesn't match the country I'm traveling. What a piece of trash all is this.

I’m genuinely frustrated with Spotify…
Didn't want to write a review about this but I’m genuinely frustrated with Spotify right now. I signed up for Premium Duo before the cutoff date, and now that my subscription lapsed, there’s no clear or fair way to get it back. It feels misleading to say users are “eligible” but then quietly remove the option once a payment fails or the plan ends.
Loyal customers shouldn’t be penalized like this. The Duo plan worked perfectly for people living together, and removing or locking it behind confusing policies feels like a cash grab rather than customer care.
Transparency matters. If a plan is being discontinued, say it clearly. Don’t hide it behind fine print and technicalities. Really disappointing experience from a platform I’ve supported for years.

Let me explain it this way: When I choose to open the app, that means I WANT to listen to music voluntairily. It's the only reason I open the app. So there is no need to throw things at me, screem, suggest, try to convince me etc etc etc. What an anoying app. Can I PLEASE just in all peacean quite find my songs and listen to them !? Listening to music is something I do to relax. Finding music on Spotify is one of the most irritating and stressing things I have ever done on my phone. So that is simply not an option. I am bitterly disapointed I had expacted a lot more from the Swedish.

We pay for Premium. But all kinds of Audiobooks and podcasts are not accessible with Premium anymore. Dont call it „Premium“ then. Call it „a bit better than crap“

Being an Artist Makes it Worse
Worst platform for music distribution too. You can setup the dates you wish for release, but Spotify will still release them when they deem possible. I've had a handful of songs not release at the specified time and all I was told was "We haven't received the metadata." all the while every other streaming platform had it up. Hmmm. Spotify is a scam.
