Annual service overcharging

I booked my bike in for its annual service via the online booking system, and at the time of booking I was quoted £284. When I returned to collect my bike after the service today I was asked for £100 more than the original quote. After querying the cost I was told that the quote was an 'estimate'. Nowhere on my confirmation email does it state that the booking price is an estimate. At the time of booking, Triumph's online booking system asks for the VIN number of your vehicle, and the mileage, so it should know exactly what work is involved and quote accordingly. After much discussion, all that was offered to me was to slightly reduce the cost of the work, still leaving me with a hefty bill of £350, £66 more than originally quoted. I would have expected them to honour the original quote, and for them to take up the misquoting issue with Triumph. Very poor customer service.

The goose that laid the golden egg.

I purchased my bike here in 2018 and have trusted them to carry out all my repairs that I haven't had time to do myself. However, after coming off 07/2024 and having the bike dropped off. Apart from a broken brake lever and an electrical fault, I pointed out to them that it was most likely an issue with the earth connection to the headstock. They insisted the bike needed a new wiring harness and proceeded to replace it. Together with numerous other unnecessary matters that they deemed needed replacing, I gave them the go-ahead, as the insurance had already sanctioned it. Upon collecting the bike six months later, I found that various issues hadn't been addressed, some of the accessory installations had been short-circuited, the tracker wasn't working, and the electrical problem, which required a new wiring harness, hadn't been fixed. I did ask them to return the old wiring harness to me, as I'd suspected that the issue was, as I'd pointed out to them in the first place, related to an earth connection to the headstock. I returned the bike to them with the tracker issue, and they diagnosed that the tracker harness had corroded, needing new connections. £250 later, I got the bike back with the tracker working. (The tracker cost £200, including the installation when new.) With a suitable short length of wire, I connected the bottom yoke to the frame, and the problem needing the new wiring harness instantly disappeared. I'll have to be desperate to take my bike back there again.

I booked a test ride on a 900 speed…

I booked a test ride on a 900 speed twin online and received an email confirmation. The point of contact given was not available on the day despite me arriving on time. I did get to take the bike out and liked the machine, I asked for a px price on my existing machine and the salesman told me he would refer it to the sales manager who would be in touch. Just over a week on now and I have not heard anything from them. I have now purchased from elsewhere.
I would not be a very happy man if I were director of Staffordshire Triumph!

Had my Rocket 3 serviced and updated recently by Staffordshire Triumph. From the moment you arrive until you depart - you are treated with respect. Great selection of Motorcycles, comfy chairs, catering outside and hot drinks on tap. Keep up the good work. I travel from North Wales to Stoke - they are that good.

Would’t have happened at Pidcocks!

Called in on a Friday, early afternoon, to look at bikes and they had what I was looking for, a Tiger 900 Rally Pro., due to injury I wasn’t on my bike, however I discussed with a Salesman that I had a part exchange and he stated he would email me a document to complete with details of my bike and to forward photos so they could get an underwrite on it. The document wasn’t there on arrival at home and the following day (Sat) morning I rang to speak to the ‘said’ salesman, he was busy so I was told by the call recipient that he would pass a message on and to expect a call back. Late afternoon i still had had no call back so I rang again and managed to speak to the sales person, he told me he had sent the email again as apparently he had missed a letter off of my email address, it had now arrived, I stated that I would complete and send back which I had done (replied to the salesman’s email) and sent by 11am on the Monday morning, i heard nothing over the next two days, not even an acknowledgment of receipt of the photos and details so I emailed again on the Wednesday morning by 9am, here I am another four days on, nine days since my visit and no valuation, no acknowledgement of receipt of details, no call at all, just ignored, not good service! I have been a customer of Pidcocks for years and they had a great sales team and service team, friendly, responsive, interested, just how a sales and service business should be, disappointed that Stafford Triumph doesn’t meet those exacting standards!

The sales staff completely lost interest once I'd paid

I bought a Kawasaki Z900RS from Staffordshire Triumph in Nov 2024. The bike itself is fine, but the most disappointing thing was that the dealer's sales staff seemed to totally lose interest in me, the bike and its delivery the moment that I had paid (in advance) in full. From that moment onward, I had no further information from the dealer. They handed the bike to a third-party private delivery person - a "man with a van" - but refused to give me his name, his company name, his phone number, or anything beyond a first name. I asked for an approximate ETA - they 'didn't know' (and couldn't be bothered to find out). So, I waited on tenterhooks to find out whether or not my bike would actually arrive on the expected day, or at all. In fact the delivery was good and the driver was helpful and pleasant. But even 10 days later, Staffs Triumph had not contacted me to check that all had gone well - the lack of interest, post-payment, was total. I just hope that I have no need to attempt a warranty claim with Staffordshire Triumph. I definitely won't be buying another motorcycle from them.
