Smooth transition from sales to installation.

very fast efficient process,from ordering windows to fitting. very little disruption during fitting. impressed by overall experience. would definitely recommend

I am delighted with the windows .and I congratulate having the two men who did the work .they were pleasant ,nice and did a very professional job with hardly any mess or upheaval Iam coming up 86 years and was worried before the job was done but I needened have Thankyou!!

Extremely poor customer service! Quite a few mistakes made and far too quick to pass the blame to other colleagues or indeed,MYSELF!! Still waiting 3 weeks on for work to be finished. I could go on to list every grievance,but in short...AVOID USING THIS COMPANY...VERY POOR...WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! Only gave 2 stars as the product itself is satisfactory! No stars for St.Andrews Home Improvements.

Two days ago I had a lady on my doorstep who said that there were government schemes in my area for discounted double glazing and that only a large conglomerate - rather than a local firm - could access these discounts . Consequently yesterday my husband and I had a visit from a salesman representing St Andrews Home Improvements who then back tracked on what the lady had said and told us that discounts would come from us advertising their windows for them in a magazine and on a board outside the house. He showed us a demonstration window which we both thought looked so much better than our old ones and was A rated for energy etc. and offered us a good discount down from £13000+ to just over £7000. In hindsight, he did not show us how he arrived at these figures and what the "book price" of each item was and neither did he mark down on the paperwork any specific details regarding the quality of the windows we were paying for. He told us that we would need to pay £199 for a survey for accurate digital measuring of the windows and door and my husband filled in a finance form because we were advised that a fixed sum loan agreement paid up early without penalty would be cheaper by 10% than cash. Overnight I had serious reservations and actually got out of bed in the early hours to read over the paperwork more carefully. I noted that there was nothing on the small print of the loan agreement about a "no fee early settlement" and that on another form the salesman had ticked that we would pay a £90 per annum service charge - and also that the £199 we had already paid for a surveyor was actually listed as "deposit" on the contract agreement. Because of these concerns I decided to cancel this morning but when I cancelled the policy I was told on the phone that the £199 was an administration fee unrelated to the survey and non-refundable. So please - be very wary of St Andrews Home Improvements as if you cancel you will be down £199 for nothing.

NB: Should St Andrew's actually refund the money to me - as they are offering in their follow-up to this review, then I will confirm this in my review - so far though, a week after offering, I have received nothing.

After trying to stop this review St Andrews customer service adviser Colleen replied she had requested that my £199 should be refunded but after 19 days there is no sign of this refund; looking like 'request' denied

I am completely satisfied with my windows and door, the installation was carried out with perfection when finished not a trace of dust was found.9

unsatisfactory with after care from sales team as what was promised prior to installation of windows has not been met. installation team were perfect kept us informed of what they were doing and what still needed done as installation took 2 days. Engineers that came after installation to plaster and put end caps on have been perfect aswell.

This is an attempt to get some reaction from St Andrews Improvements.
We recently had all the windows and doors replaced in our house SA34017 (hopefully this will be enough for St Andrews Improvements to identify me), in the main we are happy with the product, with exception to what I'd call 'minor' issues - I'll explain this later.
The real reason I've rated this debacle so low is because, in the beginning if we ever tried to make contact using the supplied number we could end up with three different companies then get the brush off with another number from people that quite frankly couldn't care less, now originally we made the initial contact with 'Penicuik' so how we ended up having windows by St Andrews improvements - well I cant explain.
During the initial order, after explaining what we wanted and told that it wouldn't be a problem, this soon changed when the surveyor turned up this all changed within minutes of him turning up - so, the order was cancelled straight away as we could not get what we wanted, within a couple of days we had a call from a sales person asking if they could come round and resolve any issues, they did and we tried again, this time it all went well 'different surveyor'. The finish we wanted was a special order so had a 6 week lead in time, this was not a problem. However, getting close to the provisional fitting date we had a call from the fitters to nail down a start date and time, when the original order was made we were told that to get the 'deal' it would have to be done over the weekend so they would get the maximum exposure through advertising on the vans and temporary sign at the end of the drive, so to our surprise the fitters said they were available to start on the Friday, this was agreed and the guys cracked on and completed approx 80% of the work, at this point we found out they wouldn't be back until the Monday as they don't work weekends or that one anyway, so you can imagine my annoyance at this as having cancelled a weekend away and losing money ' an expensive weekend doing nothing' the fitters turned up on the Monday, finished and left. Now at this point I am extremely happy with the work force pleasant guys who did a good job, cleaning up as the went.
My bug bare with this collection of companies is, you have no idea who you are really dealing with, the initial number we used on the paperwork gave us 3 different locations and companies (Weatherseal, Penicuik and finally St Andrews Improvements), also after being told the fitting would happen over the weekend for PR reasons did vans turn up with 'Job worth doing' down the side - yes another company, over the time of dealing with whoever !
I have noticed that if you have had any problems or issues with the process whoever you are speaking to, they immediately blame one of the other companies, along with this communication is a very strong element required with any company - not this one, four attempts so far have been made to report minor remedial work, but, so far they have made no contact I wonder if this is partially my fault for settling the bill straight away - they have their money and have now washed they're hands of us !
To nail my rant down quickly, the overall standard of the windows are excellent, and the fitters fantastic, but, the salesmen are nothing shy of rubbish and as for aftercare - well I've still to witness some.
The basic admin is failing at every level, so for this and this alone please give this collection of companies a wide berth - until they operate under one banner nothing will change.
Sorry for being long winded, but, this looks like it's the only way I can get under the skin of those that are annoying me, and as I mentioned at the start - I only want some minor issues sorting ?

when getting my windows fitted I was at work or I would have said something to the fitters every wall where the windows were fitted had to be repainted as they made such a mess and the interior frames were skimped on as much smaller than the frame that was there before leaving it looking awful the windows were left covered in silicon We also told them we did not want windowcare but they took £90 out of our bank a couple of months later and said we can not have it back I would advice people to steer clear of this company and go with someone like Everest who fitted windows for us and were excellent

Amazing! So happy with price we got and install was seamless and smooth would definitely recommend. Joiner even fixed our bird feeder when he was here. Good doing business guys!

the 2 men arrived on the friday morning my wife dealt with them and she said they were brilliant they came in got our windows out and never left until they had installed our new ones not even for breaks there work ethics was very good we was away on the saturday they came back on the monday and they repeated everything until they were done again. they tidied up there mess as they went alone and were very clean and tidy while working

Very disappointed in the efficiency of the company. What was supposed to be a two day job has taken two months to be completed, because of mistakes in measurements and glass for doors.

Absolutely love my new windows, the service was excellent and the finish perfect. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

At this moment in time I have not had any problems with any of the doors fitted. I would hate to think that I should have a problem so soon after the installation.

Quick survey and installation,but it has taken a few weeks to get snagging sorted. Have to say quality does not appear just as good as previous windows fitted.
