Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 24 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall with these products. Consumers frequently encounter major durability issues, such as tool bodies cracking under light pressure, blades going blunt immediately after first use, and hardware components failing completely after minimal wear. People also express deep frustration regarding incompatible battery designs, missing features, and replacement parts that simply do not match previous models. Some reviewers were satisfied with specific items, noting that certain tool kits and hedge trimmers perform very well during projects. Others appreciated the robust design, solid value, and long-lasting history of using these brand products over the years.

I’m really disappointed with this Stanley toolbox. The plastic feels cheap, and after only light, normal use it snapped like it was made to break. I wasn’t overloading it or abusing it—just carrying... See more

Bought a Stanley drill that is supposed…

Bought a Stanley drill that is supposed to come with free battery and 3 year warranty when you register. I registered it in September but still no battery despite emails back and forth. Drill itself seems OK so far, not to sure about flimsy reverse switch tho. Compared to my well worn very 2nd hand makita which still seems solid the switch on the Stanley feels awful.

Good value, let down by poor customer service.

I bought a FatMax drill and was very pleased with it until the chuck seized on the last day of my three year warranty! Emailed Stanley customer service to record what had happened (although it did take a while to find the email address). Got an automatic acknowledgement but no further response. After more emails and a letter to customer services I wrote to the General Manager. Customer Services rang me and arranged a repair which was then carried out swiftly and efficiently. Faith restored? Hmm, not really. I still think their tools are decent quality and good value, let down by poor customer service. If they had not eventually carried out this repair I would probably have made this a one star review.

Surprise, it's rubbish.

I bought several tools because they used to have lifetime warranty, not any more. It's understandable because their tools are now crap, worse is they know about it, that is why they don't have an email address on their uk website.
Avoid, Aldi/Lidl tools are way better (cheaper and have a 3yr warranty), Stanley has 1 yr and terrible customer service.
Any review that says otherwise has been done by Stanley themselves.

Bought a stanley fatmax

Bought a stanley fatmax, supposed to get a free battery, claimed, registered ,received confirmation of email of the free battery which shid be with me within 30 days, rang after 30 days, they say they have no record of it, sent me forms to fill, filled and returned, didnt even send me a confirmation of returning those forms, had to ring them again, still say its with the promotion team.
Totally and utterly unprofessional, lazy and cant be asked response from Stanley customer support.
They attitude seem as though they are being forced to do what they have been asked to do in their job.
I did not expect a company like Stanley to have such low standards.

Customer Service Nightmare

Called about my Stanley Maxlife 369 Tripod Flashlight. After holding 25 minutes this rep with a lazy voice took my information and told me she'd transfer me to someone who could help me. She transferred me to a totally unrelated French tool manufacturer's customer service line. When the next representative picked up I was told they didn't carry Stanley products let alone my flashlight. Horrible customer service...

Spoiled by the impossible-to-obtain 3 year warranty

Spoiled by the impossible 3 year warranty registration, this otherwise good tool has been misrepresented. If an item has a three year warranty then that should be it. Simple! But Stanley require the production date to be registered, and on the tools I own it’s impossible to read anything but the year, and that’s barely discernible. Because these are American tools, they can get away wit( this but I feel there should be a way of making them stand by their guarantee. It’s never a good way to start a relationship with a manufacturer, when they con you before you’ve even used the product.

My personal experience with Stanley…

My personal experience with Stanley products go back a long way in my life I remember using a metal measuring tape. I was helping my dad around and would use it to measure different lumber and metal pieces. The measurements were always exact.

Not the same company

Stanley tools used to be the name in high quality tools that would last for years. Recently bought a screwdriver and attachment set only for the blades to twist & buckle almost instantly upon use and now is unusable and have to go & buy a replacement. A little bit of online research later and guess what yet another company owned by Spectrum Brands and made in China out of some cheap inferior metal. Yet another good name ruined.

Stanley TRE550Z Heavy Duty Electric Staple/Nail Gun.

To start off I gave Stanley a hard time in my last review as you get NO staples or nails or anything, not even a sample.

To balance that out now, here is my review of the actual staple gun. Like most products, mixed reviews from others about reliability etc.

I bought it because it said it was powerful and I needed to staple into hard wood to recover some seats. Manual stapler wouldn't touch it. I figured since I was quoted £20 per seat to have down professionally and the Stanley was just over £20 give it a try!!

Excellent. I admit I was only using the short staples (Once purchased separately !!) but the highest setting was actually too powerful. Used about 500 staples with no problems or jams.

Very impressed. Have covered all my seats for £20 and still have an excellent staple gun for when I need again as my manual one is hard work.

Give credit where credit is due....
