Mason from Carlisle branch really went…

Mason from Carlisle branch Stan Palmer Motors really went out of his way to help us. He constantly phoned to see how you felt about each car giving very professional advice to us. Felt we got first class 5 star service and he is an asset to his company.

I wouldnt let them near a wheelbarrow

Made the mistake of buying a car fromStan Palmers Suzuki
from day one I had issues. Eventually they took the car back for over 3 weeks and returned it with scratches on the facia, tyre pressure issues and a radio that comes on intermittant.
Still awaiting a call from their maintanance/management dept. if it exists? I am sorry to say at my age 76 I would not trust them with a wheelbarrow repair. I am at a loss to understand why Suzuki permit such incompetance.

"Free recall" my butt

Took Jazz in for "Free recall" Issue, only to be phoned later that day to say mechanic had thought car had an issue while car being driven into Service bay & on inspection had found brake pads & calipers were required to be replaced, safety critical, so authorised work, only to be presented with bill over £600 when I went to pick up car. Thing is car had service & MOT 72 days earlier (including Pads) at another local garage & had done less than 400 miles since. The car went in with the Deflation waning light on, The car came out with the Deflation waning light on !? As requested I'd run the fuel down prior to the visit. After I'd re-initialised the deflation system I had 7 miles of petrol. I live 18 miles away!

The garage, next door, is always 5p-10p above supermarket prices. Good Job I brought 5 ltrs with me. Point being no mention of warning light or fuel level @ pickup (zero customer service) Also warning light prevents other digital data from being viewed so how was the current correct mileage sourced for the worksheet ?

Bought honda crv

Bought honda crv, love the car but wasn't what I consider dealer clean when picking it up. Got a valeting guy out after finding chocolate stuck in the seat belts, yuck!, he was shocked it came from a dealer like that. In fairness I didn't contact dealer to rectify as in my opinion it shouldn't been given to me in that state, it's the little things. Won't be going back for service or anything there as if they don't clean the sold cars properly, what else gets missed.

Stan Palmer MOT shambles

What a shambles the organisation of this company's service department is! Having dropped our car off for a prepaid and booked 11.30 MOT appointment we were told by an officious receptionist waffling excuses that it wouldn't be ready for collection until late afternoon. As we live 10 miles from the centre we had to rebook. Again dropped the car off for the allotted time- it was 30mins before testing
even began. Finally got the car back some 90 mins later!! The mechanics and valeters were thorough however.

Stan Palmer Carlisle are great!

Bought a second hand car from Stan Palmer Carlisle. Meg sorted everything for me & was a pleasure to deal with. I was buzzing to buy a car from a woman. We need more women in car sales!
I love my car and I would definitely come back to Stan Palmer. Thank you!

Poor and expensive service experience

Took my Honda CRV in for a service under a Honda service contract (which would be free/already paid for)
I requested the service be completed as soon as possible as I needed to visit my wife who was in hospital.
I also requested that the very annoying tyre deflation warning light be looked at as it was coming on wrongly after approximately 40 miles of driving, after resetting.
The service showed worn brake discs and pads. As this was a safety critical issue and I was due to do a lot of miles I agreed to have them do this work. I was quoted one hour and £546.52
2 hours later I was still waiting and increasingly desperate to set off to see my wife.
Cost of disc replacement? £706.16 (£588.47 PLUS VAT!!) Lets ignore the £41.95 discrepancy in the quotation. Quoting without VAT (and not indicating the quote does not include VAT) and then adding the VAT to the job to a member of the general public who would not be able to offset the VAT is pretty much fraudulent to my mind. If I buy a cup of coffee shown as £3 I would NOT be expecting to pay £3.60 when the bill comes!
I paid quickly and left.
No promised internal valet or car wash performed due to time constraints.
40 miles later... Tyre deflation lights come on!
I also now have a minor rattle in the rear right wheel.
Shan't be using again.

Bought a lovely VW from Adam at Stan…

Bought a lovely VW from Adam at Stan Palmer delighted with the car. Looking for a little advice but Adam meant to be Salesman refusing to return my calls this month and last month! Customer Service Zero will never recommend or deal with this garage again!

Zero customer satisfaction.

We bought a second hand Isuzu truck from Carlisle and have had constant issues with it since. Stan Palmer did look at the truck once and condescendingly told me there was nothing wrong with it.
We are left with a truck which, to make good, we have to spend a load more money on. Stan Palmer ignore our emails and have seemingly wiped their hands of any responsibility.

A painless experience when buying a car

Bought a Subaru from the team at Stan Palmer Ltd (Carlisle) recently. The whole process was suprisingly painless, the negotiation reasonable and I found the staff very wilco in all areas (they even lent me a vehicle until my new car arrived). I would certainly recommend them to anyone who is considering buying a 4X4 in the North West. My recent dealings with car dealers has been very stressful and the customer service has been shocking (see my other review - Border Cars). The people at Stan Palmer have shown a real understanding of what customer service is really about.
