Expensive & the worse coverage…
Expensive & the worse coverage imaginable. This is a lousy company out for their own gain.
Don't do it!
Stay away from State Farm! The absolute worst experience I've EVER had with an insurance company. They are overpriced and you won't get any service from them. I haven't been able to get them to do anything for me concerning my policy. I'm told they will send me my auto insurance ID by email...they don't. I'm told they will send me hard copies by mail...they don't. I CANNOT access my account on their website because I'm continually shut out... the bots won't recognize my login info and won't allow me to reset my password. I'm SCREWED! I'm canceling my auto policy with State Farm ASAP. I'll need to go to a local office to do this as there is no other way to communicate with them. State Farm is rated just slightly above the Lucifer and Trump Liability Consortium. RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY!
State Farm is BY FAR the best insurance company.
I have been a State Farm customer for close to two decades - covering auto, business, home coverage. I have had one great experience after another. Whether it is working with my home office in Huntington Beach, CA or with adjusters and other customer service representatives over the phone, I have received the best rates and outstanding customer service. Recently I had a claim that was fraught with complications and nuances and dealing with another parties insurance company. For well over a year and a half, State Farm worked diligently to get me a fair and just outcome from the claim. Every person I talk to in person or on the phone is always professional, knowledgeable and polite - and more than anything is ALWAYS looking out for my best interests. I have had exactly the opposite when dealing with other insurance companies, unfortunately. I recently converted a family member who lives in another state to SF. In short, for one of the largest players in the insurance industry, I have always felt like I receive the best rates and service; and that I am a valued customer.
Want to pay two to three times the…
Want to pay two to three times the amount of competing companies? Then get State Farm. If you want agents who misquote you and then price-hike you, go with State Farm. If you want an agent who doesn’t actually work for the company but is a hired temp who works in a different state than your actual office, GO WITH STATE FARM. If you have even half a brain, go almost ANYWHERE ELSE. I was paying a bit high on my wife’s Jeep Renegade. I’ve had literally one ticket in nearly 15 years and one accident that I could have avoided if I chose to die, and that was 10 years ago lol. I have a normal credit score and am vigorously working at that. I was paying almost $300 a month, and when I added my Jeep Gladiator Mojave to the policy, they lowered the Renegade and homeowners insurance but charged me nearly $200 more a month. It’s my own fault for not being more diligent about switching. I’m on SSDI, so it’s not easy to just switch policies because of money timing, and, well, that’s my responsibility in our marriage. But I eventually switched to Progressive, and they are charging me $128 a month for the entire policy. GEICO wants to give me a policy for $115 a month, which I’ll be switching to. But the moral of the story is that State Farm is a rip-off, and their “agencies” are an embarrassment when they have people working out of state like they do. That shouldn’t even be legal. So honestly, F State Farm — they will never get a cent from me again.

I was in an accident on 12/2/25 and the State Farm client was at fault. The only communication I’ve had with State Farm has been initiated by me. After the first 3 weeks after the accident I finally reached someone (my claim rep was apparently on vacation) the rep I spoke with said they approved my estimate (which I still have not received a copy of) and he stated he would contact the repair shop and let them know. 2 weeks after that, my claim rep returns from subbatical and finally calls me. He states my car is totaled, like what?!??. Now, after calling numerous times, here it is almost 2 months later and I still have ZERO information. State Farm is the worst insurance company I’ve ever felt with.
If I could give them no stars
If I could give them no stars, I would. I was in a car accident with a Lyft driver. I was the passenger. I called Statfarm to find out who the claim specialist was for my accident, so I can ask them to return my attorney's call. I was told Michelle Wright is the person handling my claim, and I was transferred. Once I spoke with her, she was rude, unprofessional, and downright nasty. I asked to talk to her supervisor several times, but she declined and hung up on me. I know that, with me having an attorney, she cannot speak to me. I just wanted her to return my attorney's calls and/or emails. On top of being rude, she lied about the little information she did share. She needs training in customer service and professionalism. She is rude and nasty and should be fired!
State Farm shafted me for claim…
State Farm shafted me for claim 33-84Q0-81F. Will never deal with them again.
STATEFARM ARE CROOKS!
worst insurance company on earth, someone ran into me from the back, while i was taking a legal turn, the adjuster said its both our fault, i sent a video showing the other driver rushing to take the same turn and hit me, i had a witness (pregnant woman in the car). why do we pay insurance companies if they don't take it on them to do our repairs, they are scammers, DO NOT DEAL WITH STATEFARM
I got T-boned by a State Farm insurer…
I got T-boned by a State Farm insurer and she was at fault and got ticketed. I have been JACKED around from the beginning from the adjusters for my medical, lost wages, truck damage to the loaner vehicle to where I need to get legal counsel involved. What a JOKE of an insurance company!! I recommend to anyone that has to deal with State Farm get an attorney!
Scam business.
I’ve had my policy for several years now, with zero claims or accidents. My car was totaled due to be t-boned. I was given a rental as I have $1500 rental coverage on my policy. State Farm notified me that my rental would no longer be covered a week after the car was totaled. Nowhere near my “coverage” limit. I’d use any insurance company over State Farm.
Best rates and service
I cannot find anyone with a better rate. I have had claims and all paid well enough. I don't know why others are having issues. Simplt wonderful in Sebring Florida with Jack.
State farm scams and harasses people, avoid!
I have GEICO, and I am perfectly happy with Geico. Then I was involved in an accident and all of a sudden Statefarm is calling me, unsolicited, and the agent convinces me that I have to get their policy. I am barely awake, the woman woke me up, the accident just happened, and I thought that perhaps Statefarm was working in conjunction with Geico or something like that. So I pay Statefarm $539 to start the coverage and get them to cover for the rental, and then I'm very confused why I have 2 policies I am paying for. So I ask my brother in law, and he says it was some kind of some that I need to call Geico. I do that, and GEICO says if Statefarm called the only thing they had a right to do was discuss the accident with me, not push their services. So then I call Statefarm, spend an hour on the phone with them, they do not let me speak to a supervisor, but they do cancel the stupid policy and say refund will be issued. They tell me supervisor will call me back. I waited a day, they did not. I spent an hour and a half on the phone trying to get one on the line, huge waste of time. And worst of all even though the policy was real and I had the first name of the agent who harassed me they didn't have it in their system who the agent actually was. Unbelievable. Do not work with them. Plus their rates are actually one and a half times higher than Geico. Stay away . I have had Geico for 2-3 years, zero complaints and state farm just scammed me in a day, simply awful, and no repercussions for the agent in question....!
Very disappointed at a not at fault…
Very disappointed at a not at fault claim. They drag their feet to communicate, reasonable pay out, just everything in general. They are fast to take money and slow as molasses to pay it out. Well I guess it’s time to start looking for an attorney.
I have been waiting for over a month…
I have been waiting for over a month for agent Chris Wilson to update the address of my 3rd party of interest on my renter’s policy. I have talked to him and provided him the info twice, sent a message on the app, called again and spoke with a rep in his office while Chris was in the background saying be would call with the update within 24 hours. Agent Chris Wilson, called me the next day and asked me for the same address AGAIN, after I personally had already given it to him, his rep, the website and an email! I log onto the app 48 hours not 24 and the info is still not updated. My previous agent retired and I never had an issue with the 9 plus years I dealt with him. I could text a request to my previous agent and the update would happen immediately, like within that hour of sending. I started the process of getting quotes from different companies on yesterday. This is ridiculous.
They're a scam company
They're a scam company. Push you into a claim, but pay nothing. They came out after I already fixed the roof and repaired the inside with plaster and then said I needed a new roof. Then they send me a check for a thousand dollars. Sent it back. They came out again and sent me a $5,000 check. All they want to do is repair. Stay away from, Laura Dietrich, Amber Lafata, Jesse Hunt, Ada Lawrence, Daria Taylor, Kenneth White and Chantel Nowell and claim manager Ryan. SCAMMERS!!! Dealing with these losers since August 2024!!!!!!!!!!!! CUSTOMER DISSERVICE.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service, problems are NEVER solved, terrible service whatsoever.. DO NOT RECOMEND.
They have increased everybody's…
They have increased everybody's premiums throughout the world homes and vehicles
However, they have gone 22% backwards paying repair shops to repair your vehicle and contractors to repair your home.... We are forced to take shortcuts or refuse the work completely
State Farm is horrible
I have been a customer for over 50 years. State Farm has taken my money religiously and I have never asked for anything until now. My car was rear ended and the driver of the other car admitted he was at fault. I chose to pay the $250 deductible and be reimbursed. Now 6 months later I have called Ed Hart the person I send my money to, to find out where my $250 is. He is either out of the office or on another line. His lackeys in the office told me that I needed to speak with a sub…. A Mr Craig Cox from State Farm called me and more or less told me that there was nothing he could do because the insuring company was out of Canada and that lawyers were handling it. I tried to explain that I was customer for over 50 years never late with a payment but Craig Cox was more interested in letting me know me how long he was with the company. Such customer service. I hung up.
Right before christmas
Right before christmas, I got into a car accident when I hit a deer. It hit my windshield on the passenger side and did demage to my driver side. I called state farm and dropped the car off. It's been 4 weeks and I'm still waiting for an update. The auto place got an estimate, started the repairs and noted more demange underneath. That was 2 weeks ago. I am still waiting for state farm to go back to the shop and do a supplement. It shouldn't have taken this long and I'm extremely disappointed in this company. I usually have no problems.
Never would I ever recommend State Farm…
Never would I ever recommend State Farm to anybody or ever have a policy with them. They really don’t care about anything but themselves and their money. It’s disgusting. Please please please if you can avoid going with them for anything. Don’t do it. Go with another company.
