Emma Darley has a kind and caring manner whilst also being professional and thorough. She listens to understand and was there to support me every step of the way. Whenever things got tough for me I always knew that Emma was there and I could contact her for advice at any time.

I had terrible time with this company. I found them extremely overpriced and they seemed to add random costs Willy nilly and refused to justify what them costs were for until I paid for it first.

I was also once charged 25 pound for replying to an email ‘no’ which would be funny if not so expensive.

This was after I told them not to email me anymore as each email and response was costing over £50 which I Could not afford when they were sending several a day sometimes.

They once added a large charge which was a ‘file review’ when I asked what was reviewed they could not tell me anything specific.

I found them to be an awful company to deal with. They left me feeling suicidal with their overcharging and I had to sell my car to pay for their costs which just spiralled up and up even when I told them to stop contacting me and working my case.

I have been represented by Danielle Hutchinson, having had a very bad experience with another firm at the beginning of my second child proceeding case.
It is obviously a horribly stressful, gruelling and draining experience. Danielle has however helped ease some of this stress, by being exceptionally organised, thorough and responsive. Danielle was particularly supportive face to face on the court hearing days and I felt heard and understood by her. Danielle wrote a very good position statement using all the facts I’d gathered over 4 years. She even postponed some annual leave to ensure she could be there on one of the hardest days. I emailed after the hearing to say ‘thank you for your amazing support’ as she really did make me feel like she was on my team.
Obviously the whole thing is bittersweet as there are never really winners in these types of cases. Danielle has remained pragmatic, calm and positive about the things we could achieve for my child though and I’d definitely be represented by her again if I had to endure this awful process in the future.

I had the pleasure of Charlotte Newman working my case. I can’t recommend her enough. I called completely clueless ready to leave my home with children in tow until she advised me of my rights and how to get these in place within 24 hours. All my ordered were granted. Charlotte has a reputation for getting things done and her name comes with clout to the point my ex partner changed his 3 times. She was not only available legally but was there to support me emotionally when needed. It was a nasty situation with the other party being underhand but Charlottes experience and knowledge was something they couldn’t match. Would highly recommend. She is efficient and effective. As an experienced lawyer, I took considerable time and care in finding the most talented family lawyer possible to represent me. Charlotte Newman was recommended to me by a very senior family lawyer.

I was recommended to this Firm by a friend in the legal profession. Therefore I thought I was in safe hands with senior solicitor Shanika Varga from the Leeds office. My initial consultation with Shanika seemed promising and I decided to instruct her to act for me.

Once you have instructed this firm they ask you to pay a £1000 up front which they put on account and claim they will only use it for legitimate work. However they run up the bill on pointless emails phone calls and other pointless work. In my case Shanika Varga had two options. She did neither and managed to spend over a £1000 on emails and phone calls. Once I saw my bill and realised what she was doing and raised concerns she tried keeping me in the dark about the process so I wouldn't be able to do the work myself and progress my case. As a result I made some errors in my case. I managed to rectify these errors to some extent by taking advice from a new solicitor at a cost of £180 but I lost a £1000 to Stowe Family Law for further delay and further problems in my case. DO yourselves a favour and use a law firm that doesn't ask for a £1000 on account up front. That way you can keep track of the work you are paying for and make sure they're not ripping you off and wasting your time at your expense.

Julian Hawkhead and Alicia were so reassuring and professional. After my initial consultation with Julian I felt encouraged and expertly supported and Alicia kept me fully informed in a kind and efficient manner throughout, culminating in a perfect result!

Having found myself in litigation that I had tried to avoid Charlotte Newman began representing me both on the children’s and financial matters.
Charlotte was reassuring from the start and extremely sensitive and alive to the way I would like to deal with matters. Absolutely amazing to deal,
