A note on the COVID-19 pandemic

We hope you are staying safe during this challenging and unforeseen time across the globe. We would firstly like to thank you for your patience and support as we work to respond to the thousands of individual customer queries, booking amendments and refunds.

We would like to note that due to Coronavirus outbreak, we have received a huge volume of contact from customers who are concerned about how their holiday is affected. It may take us longer than usual to respond at the moment, but rest assured we are working hard to reply to every customer query as quickly as we can.

When will I receive my refund?

We're working as quickly as possible to get any money back to those customers who are owed a refund. In many cases, we are waiting for the money for the cost of flights to be refunded by the airline.

Additionally, unlike many other travel companies, Sunshine.co.uk is offering eligible customers a full cash refund alongside the option to move their holiday to a later date.

The ongoing situation with Covid-19 is unprecedented and affecting us all in many different ways. We truly appreciate the patience and support of all of our customers during this challenging time.

I've used this company twice

I've used this company twice , never again. The first holiday the hotel was awful falling apart . The second one well all I can say they never cleaned my room once . Had to clean it myself and get fresh towels. 4 people moved hotels due to how dirty it was . I was offered a 50 pound voucher to use once I re book another hoilday absolutely not . There customers service is appalling take ages to get back to you . I'm disabled so booking a holiday is stressful enough without the added stress of hotels been poor also . Angela

While we act as the booking agent, the day-to-day running of the hotel, including cleanliness and maintenance, is managed directly by the hotel. These concerns should always be raised with reception during your stay so they have the opportunity to put things right. That said, we absolutely take this kind of feedback seriously and will pass it on to the hotel for review.

Palmeiras Village big rezotrs room very clean,food not very good,dont have swiming pool in side just outside,staff good but I dont think I will back in this place agen ,near beach,not shop around just 1 shop local, bus problem need used uber,uber prise not very exspensive.for relaxs good place.

I wanted to change my hotel sunshine…

I wanted to change my hotel sunshine was no help at all .I was told it would take 7days for them to get back to me.contacted them again and was told it takes 28 days for them to amend the booking . I was shocked that they were still taking money from the bank .this is not the first time I have had problems.this has been going on for months .think twice before you book you can only get in touch through chat don't bother with my sunshine you will never get through I have cancelled the holiday so still waiting

I always book with Sunshine

I always book with Sunshine as they are cheaper than everyone else. Communication is straightforward and paperwork clear and simple. The booking process is very simple and I have never had a problem with this company.

The hotel and apartments were spacious…

The hotel and apartments were spacious clean and even had a carpet. The location was the best and the little village was lovely with plenty of cheap places to eat and drink. The only down side was the pool was empty and there were no sun beds around the pool, made it difficult finding somewhere to sunbathe as we are not beach lovers.

Unable to use gift voucher

We booked a holiday and had a £100 gift voucher which we have been unable to use. Nowhere on the website does it state the voucher can only be used if paying your holiday in instalments. We paid our holiday in full and have been unable to resolve the issue using the chat function. This is really disappointing and frustrating and puts me off using sunshine holidays again!!!!!!!!

Generally booking through sunshine is usually easy and fuss free. However this year although we asked for a specific type of room we didn’t get it which was a real disappointment because we then didn’t get the service we thought we would.

We understand how frustrating it must be when you’re trying to make changes and are unable to reach us by phone. Just to clarify, we do not have an inbound phone line. The best and quickest way to get support with your booking is via the Live Chat option within your My Booking account.

If you would still like to proceed with cancelling your holiday, you can also do this yourself by following the steps below:

💻 On desktop:

Step 1: Go to My Booking and log in
Step 2: Select View and Manage Booking on the holiday you wish to cancel
💡 Please ensure you have selected the correct booking
Step 3: Scroll to Make Changes and select Cancel Booking
Step 4: Click Next to see a full breakdown, including:
• What you’ve already paid
• What’s refundable
• Any cancellation fees
• Your final refund amount (or any balance due)

📱 On mobile:

Step 1: Tap the menu (three lines), then open the Sunshine.co.uk section and select My Bookings
Step 2: Tap View and Manage Booking on the relevant holiday
💡 Please ensure you have selected the correct booking
Step 3: Scroll to Make Changes and select Cancel Booking
Step 4: Tap Next to view your full cancellation breakdown, including:
• What you’ve already paid
• What’s refundable
• Any cancellation fees

It was a joke not a transfer with sunshine.co.uk

Overall, most aspects of the holiday were satisfactory; however, the transfer service was highly disappointing.
Firstly, the information provided on the voucher was incorrect, including the company name and instructions on how to locate the service. As a frequent traveller, I was able to identify the correct provider only after checking multiple transfer companies, which should not be expected of customers.
Additionally, the waiting time for the bus exceeded 90 minutes, which is unacceptable. The journey to the hotel was also unnecessarily prolonged, taking over an hour due to multiple stops and inefficient routing, including driving around the hotel area before finally dropping me off.
This experience does not meet the standard expected of a transfer service and was extremely frustrating. Based on this, I would strongly recommend booking transfers independently rather than through your company.
I hope the return transfer from the hotel to the airport will be handled more efficiently.

We appreciate that, as an experienced traveller, you were able to resolve this yourself, but this is certainly not something we would expect our customers to have to do, and we understand how frustrating this must have been at the start of your journey.

We’re also very sorry to hear about the extended waiting time and the length of the transfer to your hotel. Waiting over 90 minutes and experiencing a prolonged journey with multiple stops is understandably disappointing, particularly after travelling. While shared transfers can involve additional stops along the way, the experience you’ve described does not reflect the smooth and efficient service we aim to provide.

Your feedback regarding the routing and drop-off process has been noted, as this should always be managed in a way that minimises unnecessary delays wherever possible.

If you are currently still in resort, please be assured that our in-resort team are available 24/7 via WhatsApp should you have any concerns or need assistance with your return transfer. They will be happy to help ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible for your journey back to the airport.

If you have already returned home, we would encourage you to follow our post-travel complaints process via our website so that we can investigate this further with the transfer provider.
