Great Site for swapping stuff you no longer use/want

coming up to 100 swaps and dealt with a lot of trustworthy people!

have been scammed once but luckily item had no value and never lost on it but user was dealt with by swapz

If you want to swap household items then its ok aslong as you meet the person and dont sent through the post, no security like ebay. All the cars are over priced and have loads of owners because people swap them time and time again trying to trade up, the problem being they over price them so end up stuck with them.

Admin dont really care what is going on unless you list the same item twice then they delete it. Send them a email about a scammer and they get left to it.

i have done over 100 swapz on here now and have always liked it i have lots of trustworthy swappers that contact me daily i am now lewscashforcars (lewmu85) who is a good swapper and has fantastic feed back this site is a credit to the web enjoy swappers and great work swapz team

I have been on Swapz for years now and dont use it a deal but sometimes do. My last time on there was not good. Too many wanna be dealers and people with no manners or grasp of the English language at all. The Swapz team need to tighten things up on there. The site is to SWAP cars but people always want cash on top. There are 100s of cars on there that have no log books or paperwork which really needs clamping down on. To top it all off i aired my opinion on there and got the ad removed and my account closed. It was factual and honest but they just shut my account down in a few minutes, Guess they cant take honest opinions on there. Shame as it used to be a good site but never mind no big loss.

I don't normally talk on forums, but once again the guys at Swapz have just helped me do something, so I want to return the compliment.

To begin I would say that I always get a swift reply from the guys at Swapz whenever I have a query/point to ask/make, positive or negative. My recent communication was similarly successful, but also it threw up some issues of which I was not aware, i.e.: the dissatisfaction some people have with the site.

I have been with swaps for a few years now and have made less than 20 swaps and all, with the exception of one (because I was quite naive at the time) went smoothly. And the reason they went smoothly is because I was careful and read who could and could not be trusted.

People on this forum talk about time wasters, idiots and those who don't reply and that doesn't get anybody more riled than me, but you can't do anything about it so do what the savvy do, stick them in the 'Block List' and forget them. The sooner we all do that the sooner these idiots will find that they have no one replying to them.

It has been mentioned that Swapz is a company set up for profit and cares nothing about the swappers. I don't know if they care less about us, but it is certainly set up for the benefit of the owners to make profits and if that surprises the reader then you really should take a course in politics and philosophy. Regardless of why the owners run this website, Swapz is an excellent vehicle for exchanging goods we no longer have a use for for something we do have a use for (we can even buy and sell on Swapz now although I have my thoughts on that) and avoid that dreaded VAT, which regardless of the what the corrupt Government calls it - I call it: Vile Autocratic Theft.

Although Swapz can't compete with eBay, as it doesn't have the same breadth of goods, it is, in my view, an excellent vehicle for getting what you want, providing you are prepared to wait - and it demands no charge for the service it provides.

So the thing is: use Swapz but use common sense as well. Check out who and who can /can't be trusted and don't be greedy. For example: "I know this is my first time on Swapz, but I want to swap my brand new all singing all dancing top of the range, £2,000 Super Tablet PC for a mountain bike. But as I am housebound and can't get to the post office with the Super Tablet, if you send your bike first I will be able to cycle to the post office to send you the Super Tablet." As they say: if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Okay, I know that my example is stretching things a bit, but it is exaggerated to make the point. And anyhow, I have been asked things not far off the mark.

One last thing. be nice to the moderators, they are a bunch of nice guys and don't deserve to take the stick I have heard they are often subjected to. And if you can't be nice for the sake of it - remember this: If you want somebody to help you it pays to be nice because at the end of the day they hold the power to help or hinder. And that's a good lesson for life.

I hope my few pennthworth has (ask you mum and dad about that word) has helped those who have come here for a balanced view of Swapz and some guidance on how to use it without tears.

I cant list all the attempted scams that people have tried to pull on me.

Just a site run for a bit of profit off the ads placed on every page of the site. I had a 58 plate range rover sport listed and was being offered old 1990's motorcross bikes and cars worth scrap.

Every ad states the car is "rare" and has no mot but is mint so "will fly through a mot"

I have been offered cars that when I have checked have finance owing on them and even have scrap markers against them so should never be put back on the road and are impossible to mot, tax, insure and get a logbook for. When i tell the admin about it by reporting it nothing happens and some poor sap is stuck with a that will get taken off the by the police.

People get angry when you tell them the car is a scrapper and worth £100 but they insist its a minter and probably worth more than the 15k you have listed.

Full of fake clothing and jewellery.

Just removed my account which is no easy thing.

Stay away and use a couple of quid on ebay.

It's Full of people who state they want to swap they accept the swap and The next day they hardly reply back. i really don't understand these idiots,

I have 58 feedbacks 5 stars been on swapz for 5 years, and every Time a zero swapper comes along they want me to send first same old morons they haven't even got a History on swapz nothing. makes me wonder if they are little kids but just complete Time wasters.

swapz is a good site but let down by the people who use it, you need to weed out whos genuine and who's a complete bogus tool, go on swapz join them and find out


if you post iphone 5s and get replies believe me most of them will be 300 miles away asking you to send first without no feedback they will moan about being scammed CLASSIC,

swapz is a great idea often ruined by lowlifes and also the morons who are led by greed and fall for every scam in the book.
who on earth is going to post something they own to a total stranger who has no references of any kind.
at least buy into it,become a full member and trade with likeminded members with good feedback etc,as on the likes of ebay n co.
however ,if you cant be bothered with that then doing a trade face to face oftens brings good results for genuine members of that site,those who know what theyre doing, and so it still works,sort of.
basically the haters here seem to be members of morons.co.uk who have been seen of by the chav tealeaves and seem unlikely to ever understand that its because of people like them that scammers flourish in every corner of our lives.

I have used the site a couple of times with no issues, but when there is an issue this is where is falls down!

No contact with the mods or site owner since Saturday - phone has been missing for over a week! Does look like they even have insurance for anything like scams ridiculous! Even eBay realizes there are scammers about!

I am out £300 with no way of replacing the item!

I have been a member for a few years, but over the past year it has got riddiculous.
There are so many duplicate ads its like a plague and those who run the site don't care! The cars & motorbikes are worst. People post thier ads 4 or 5 times, the people in charge only remove reported ads and thats once a day if your lucky. So you report someone and swapz will remove thier ads and 10 minutes later they are back up. They do not take action against repeat offenders, no expiration on ads so they are there for years. They should be constantly monitoring and removing offenders ads hourly and run the site how its meant to be run. You can pay for Bumpz and thats a waste of money as others just remove and relist thier own ads to bump them. Theres ads in wrong category's, vulgar swearing ads, no place for kids to use.
there should be an internet reguator who shuts poorly run sites down.
I dont advertise on the site no more, just spend my time reporting the idiots who multi list the same item. Half of them don't even know they are doing it as theres no email from admin to tell them why their ads have been removed, most think its a site error.
Really Swapz get your act together and sort your website out, or give it up and let someone who cares have it!!!!

This site is amateur and there's not control at all.
Members just list their rubbish for free, about 10 times each with the same item, same description. So out of the 60,00 car ads on there 59,000 are duplicate listings.
Its ridiculous, you report them and its days before their ads get taken down.
No interest from the admin team (2 people max), or sarcastic repetitive replies.
I was offered a car by the time it came to meet, he had gone from having all docs, to losing the MOT and not have a V5 lost in moving. Car was mot'd the month before. Definitely a dodgy car and user.
Its about time the site was taken down or regulated by the rules they state on the site that no-one follows. I don't use it anymore.

My 13 year old son wanted to use SWAPZ.COM to swop his Mini Moto. As hes under 16 i opened up the account and listed it.

Bassmamash wanted to swop a petol remoto buggy for my sons Mini Moto. We agreed that i would send the bike tracked by pacel force for £40 48 hour service.

Bassnanash agreed that he had the buggy already boxed up as soon as he got the bike.#
This was over a month ago he receaved the bike but now he blames " his Friend " this swapz was ad is nothing to do with him.

Swapz.com custemer service more than useless. Now i face a two hour drive to confont BASSMANASS.

What i am doing and i ant moving untill i get it back, NO ONE ripps my son off.
