159 days to receive my sofa — and that wasn’t even the worst part.

I’m giving 1 star, only because a 0-star option doesn’t exist.

According to James, 99% of customers don’t experience this. So if you’re not in the “lucky 1%,” this review may not apply to you — though I strongly suggest reading reviews carefully before ordering.
I placed my order on 31 Aug 2025 with an original delivery date of 2 Nov 2025, timed perfectly with the completion of my newly built, completely unfurnished flat. My sofa finally arrived on 5 Feb 2026 — 159 days after ordering and 95 days late — and only after relentless chasing and pressure on my part. At one point, James even asked me to contact the courier myself just to get delivery arranged.

Over the months, I was given a rotating list of explanations: a cyber attack on the website, US–China trade wars, tariffs, warehouse issues, courier problems, and the fact that James handles “over 200 orders a month.” Whatever the explanation, the responsibility sits squarely with Swivel. The complete lack of proactive communication made the experience draining, frustrating, and genuinely stressful.

The 1 star is solely because James arranged a temporary sofa, which I appreciated. However, being three months past the estimated delivery date without the actual product is not a problem a temporary fix meaningfully solves.

Then came delivery day — a nightmare in its own right. Despite receiving a confirmation email the day before with a delivery date and time window, the delivery wasn’t actually scheduled. Three hours after the window passed, I began chasing both the courier and James, only to be told later that day that no delivery had been arranged for that time specified in the email from the courier.

After escalating the issue all the way to the courier company’s director, a same-day delivery was eventually arranged — arriving six hours later than the confirmed time stated in the email received just the day before. This completely disrupted my workday and caused an enormous amount of unnecessary stress.

To be clear, this is NOT a reflection on the delivery drivers. The two drivers who arrived were genuinely lovely — friendly, professional, and the only bright spot in this entire process.

Bottom line:
If you need a sofa within any reasonable timeframe, avoid Swivel! If you’re comfortable waiting close to a year — while chasing, pressuring, and repeatedly rearranging your life — then proceed at your own risk. And that’s assuming you don’t end up in the “1%” of customers who go through this ordeal.

1 star, solely because a temporary solution was offered and I didn’t spend the Christmas holidays sitting on cardboard boxes — not because the ordering, communication, or delivery experience met even a basic acceptable standard.

If this is what the “1%” looks like, ask yourself whether you’re willing to take that risk before ordering.

Extremely disappointing customer…

Extremely disappointing customer service and delivery times. We placed an order in February 2025 for six chairs. I had to chase numerous times to understand when they might be delivered as we received no updates from Swivel. The chairs finally arrived in December 2025, but two were missing and they were not the custom height we had ordered and confirmed with James. I communicated this with James, who explained it may be the warehouse/factories fault. Unfortunately, I have then had no response from James with an update on the missing chairs or the incorrect order and how they might resolve the issue despite numerous emails being sent.

Stressful to deal with, table took 17 weeks to arrive

I rarely leave reviews. Unfortunately, our experience with Swivel UK was very stressful. From placing the order on Aug 25 it took until mid-December for the table to arrive, which wasn't even the correct finish. We had agreed, given the correct table hadn't been delivered to the store, we would accept a different finish, with a nominal discount.
Whenever I called, whatever I was told was going to happen, be it checking stock in the warehouse, an email being sent, everything took numerous phone calls and emails to happen. That said, I've left 2 stars and not 1 star, as the actual table is very good, but definitely not worth the 17 week wait, stress and aggravation. I'd rather we received the correct table, on time for the price we were happy to pay than have the 17 weeks of stress, the incorrect finish and a nominal reduction.
EDIT: James has been in contact with us, and gone through the timeline. We understand this is a small business, but it was a genuinely stressful experience, lots of chasing for information, and this is a valid review of our experience as a consumer.

Mario Bellini Sofa - engage with confidence

A total pleasure to deal with James and the Swivel UK team. The showroom in north London allows you to see, touch and test products before purchasing - rare for companies selling design classics. Comms and delivery were on point - and comes with flexibility to deliver to dates that suit you. Delivery team were also friendly and helpful. Our two Mario Bellini style sofas are excellent quality, comfortable and eye catching - couldn’t be happier with them. So no reservations in recommending Swivel U.K. - engage with confidence !

A high-end company that has an…

A high-end company that has an excellent website and a wide-range of items that satisfies all tastes and budgets. Excellent communication throughout the buying and waiting process, coupled with using an excellent delivery service when the items were ready for delivery, made the whole process painless and very rewarding. The chairs I ordered are very high quality and actually look better than those shown in the pictures. I will certainly use Swivel again.

Ordered (and paid for) two lamps in…

Ordered (and paid for) two lamps in April this year. It's now October. Still no sign of them. Despte several emails and a phone call, zero information (or interest) from Swivel.
Exceptionally poor customer service.
There can't be too many business models where holding onto customers cash while providing absolutely nothing in return is even legal.
Avoid!

Great quality sofa!

Just received my new Mario Bellini sofa. Looked on many sites and Swivel was by far the best in terms of communication and also competitive on price. Was a little worried about the quality given only seeing it online, but it is perfect. We have originals in our office and I really cannot tell the difference. Looks so good in my living room. Highly recommended.

I bought a white boucle Chamaleonda…

I bought a white boucle Chamaleonda Sofa and it's really lovely, I'm happy with the quality and design looks exactly light the original to me (i have only seen photos), boucle fabric is very nice. I'd reccommend you go to the showroom in Stoke newington to see your style before you buy it like I did. I ordered this sofa on 1st october and I was told it would be delivered in december before christmas. I checked in and was actually surprised that it was going to be on time. It was delivered to their warehouse on 12th december but due to lots of very strange circumstances - COVID, Broken down vans, christmas holidays, it didn't get delivered until today 19th janaury - it was quite stressful as they told me it was being delivered on a particular date several times and then cancelled deliveries, without even telling me it was cancelled. The communication is non-existent unless you reach out to them and I basically had to arrange my own delivery because they certainly didn't think a sofa sitting in a warehouse for a whole month was a problem. I'd Order cautiously, check the product quality and talk to James. This business is not fully equipped to meet the standards of service that big commerical furniture brands can. I expect their sales have grown beyond their staff capabilities - I'd urge James to hire a part-time customer service manager that covers deliveries so he can do sales and production without interruption.

I bought some Erik Buch style stools…

I bought some Erik Buch style stools from Swivel but when I realised the lead time on my required specifications I decided to alter my order to what they had in stock. James was very helpful in looking at alternative options and now I am the proud owner of 3 very well made stools which look great in my kitchen. Straight-forward, helpful and accommodating. I couldn't recommend Swivel more highly.

I bought a £200 swing wall lamp (DQ51…

I bought a £200 swing wall lamp (DQ51 Wall Lamp) and it is meant to balance with a cantilever weight on one end. The weight is too heavy for the lamp, so it's absolutely useless.

When you email Swivel, they take zero accountability in replacing the item, and you just get fobbed off with a couple off useless videos with no talking.

AVOID AVOID AVOID RIP OFF MERCHANTS.

Great experience and trustworthy

Great experience. After looking diligently online, I decided to buy four Jeanneret chairs from Swivel as they were one of the only sites I called and managed to speak to someone professional and knowledgable. Placed the order online and the chairs were delivered within the quoted timeframe which I was quite nervous about given my experience on other furniture deliveries lately. As for the quality, I could not be happier. The chairs are as good quality as the originals and look incredible. So far they seem very sturdy and will hopefully last a long time. Would highly recommend Swivel and will certainly buy again from them.

AWFUL service and poor quality goods

Absolutely AVOID this company. I ordered a serge mouille two arm replica lamp with a lead time of 4 weeks in December. After endless chasing and being fobbed off with a huge variety of different excuses I finally received the lamp at the end of April, nearly 5 months after I ordered it. It is VERY poor quality and the top arm cannot support itself so it looks a mess and nothing like the original. I have emailed Swivel multiple times and they now claim not to have received my emails despite the fact I can see my responses on the email thread and have screen shotted them. Pathetic! Would never ever recommend this company to anyone.

Super lights and super service

Sim and Nisha at Swivel have been super helpful and timely in organising my order for Serge Mouille and Nelson style lights/shades. The website is clear and easy to use, with all relevant product information. The showroom in Stoke Newington is also convenient for seeing a selection of Swivel's products. Looking forward to receiving my order in the coming weeks as advised.
