Hello. I’m writing this review really disappointed about our today’s experience in Emerald Park. As we’re from co.Cork getting to park took us 3 hours. We bought ticket for Special needs child plus carer showing my 5 year old son’s AsIAm card. He was so excited as it was a gift for him and our first long trip after me passing my driving test. We were given our tickets and fast passes and off we went to… constant disappointment… Every ride and roller coaster we head to and went through fast que we were told we couldn’t access first wagons. My son’s special interest are numbers and he loves number 1. I told staff we could wait two or three turns but he really wants to go to the first one. We were told on most rides it’s not possible because people are waiting long time in the queue and it would be unfair towards them. My child was crying every time he was denied first wagons. He loves rollercoasters and he couldn’t understand why people from staff was telling us everytime to go to the very back wagons. Don’t get me wrong. I do know how world works. We won’t get to be first most of the time and especially fighting system. I do know people are waiting in queues but these people don’t have disability and sensory issues which standing in the rain and being denied access when gates were opening first on the side of normal queue then for special queue was just ridiculous. I was talking to parents with older than my boy who also had autism. We pointed the issue out to staff waiting in the queue for dinosaur rollercoaster. They were telling us the same thing all over again that people are waiting and we can take whichever wagon will be free and if will be free. Isn’t that the whole point of fast track that people will get to chose their sits first even without needs as they payed for it? I raised the issue to the manager of the dino dash and she kept rolling her eyes at me and my crying son. Overall I needed to literally put my all efforts together and try to explain it to my child and instead of relaxing myself after long drive and seeing my child content I was stressing myself over making up for what they did wrong. But then I said you know what? This is rude what they are doing and I don’t agree with this. That’s what I told him. He was very upset and kept crying but I said you have right to be sad and angry and I’m sad and angry too. This experience wasn’t inclusive and we felt discriminated against disability. Btw I’m an adult with AuDHD. I raised issue to manager while leaving park she offered us tickets to compensate and we did took them I thought I would like to have this option for him to decide if he wants to come back or not while he will calm down and time will pass. Overall very dissatisfying experience which breaks my heart as a mother fighting for supports for my child everyday.

Emerald Park (formerly Tayto Park) is DISGRACEFUL

In all the theme parks I have been to I have never been more disgusted than with Emerald Park (formerly Tayto Park).
We were visiting with a friend who needed assistance to walk and so we begun our visit by trying to make use of “numerous” wheelchairs and scooters they had available. Biggest lot of woke nonsense I’ve ever heard. They have two mobility scooters to give out for the whole park, to be shared by thousands of visitors each day. Utterly useless.

We then went to see if we could get quick access passes to reduce the time we had to stand about in queues, however the receptionist, in all their medical training, decided that our friend didn’t qualify. We then checked with the on site medic who then did say he did qualify. What a waste of time.

We then decided there is no point wasting our time with these jokers anymore so I left my phone number and asked that they would ring me when a wheelchair became available. We went round the park and waited for 4 hours, at which point our friend was in actual physical pain and needed to stop for constant breaks, before I finally got a phone call to tell me there was a chair available! We arrived to pick up our chair to be told they were going to charge us the full €50 price to use the chair for 1 hour before we had to go. UTTER WOKE NONSENSE. Honestly disgraceful, but my goodness, what a difference that chair made, but could definitely have done with one about 4 hours earlier.

Then just to top it all off, we paid for all inclusive tickets, however they wouldn’t allow us on any of the rides at all. Actually appalling. The price of our tickets got us on two children’s rides and a lap of the petting zoo. What a waste of time and money. Hoping to get a full refund. All day, the only answers we got were no, as well as some of the most unfriendly, and uncaring staff I have ever come across.

So, would I recommend visiting this park? NO. It’s ableist, it’s woke, and it’s a massive scam. Do not bless them with your presence, and do not give them any of your money.

On going difficulties trainning with staff, as all stating different rules.

Half the rides not on, if you don't go in summer hoildays, half the park closed but still charged full price.

Won't except euro or sterling at gate for tickets, have to book online

Lots of people skipping the que, always lots of buses/ clubs and schools in

Staff very unmotivated

Had dinner in restaurant, school kids unsupervised throwing food and carrying on, park staff just turned a blind eye

Went on the water ride, as offered a drying machine, but when tired to use, not working

Food/drink/merchandise all overpriced!

Disappointed

The last year every pack is along the same lines of buying a bag of Oil absolutely disgusting that you think people would voluntarily ingest this garbage.

4.75 in Lidl for a multi-pack and the entire pack will be thrown out weird texture almost stale and you can hold any crisp up to the light and see the grease absolutely soaked into the crisp.

Food and hygiene and health and safety would want to look at that.
Ever since the ukraine war began and there was a shortage on sunflower oil we have these oil soaked disgusting crisps every single flavour of original tayto ruined.

Absolutely disgraceful

Have attended Tayto/Emerald Park after dark for the last 3 years. Up until last night it has always been a great experience, however, Saturday 26th October 24 was not. Over €200 spent to go on 3 rides!!!The waiting times were ridiculous. The new rollercoaster was closed and the queue for the Cu Chulain was almost 2 hours with the result that by the time you got to get on the ride there was no time to get on anything else. Also the prices of pics etc have gone off the scale. An absolute rip off!! The kids were so disappointed and unfortunately greed has ruined the experience. The event is being oversold!! Trust me, if I could give no stars I would. Never again!

Bought a box of 24 Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar and they were horrible, bland and tasteless, so filled in the complaint form, Complaint ID: RC0000915. Never had a reply, that’s eight weeks ago. Followed up last week and again no response. Very unhappy as have had to throw away an entire box (Multipack Barcode: 0501005205483). Terrible service!

Never going back

Never going back. No adequate staffing to manage the rides to operate at right time. Staffs never being vigilent of people overtaking those who are already in the queue. Bad experience overall.

RIP off Ireland alive and well

RIP off Ireland alive and well. To being five 12/13 year olds here for the day, I was charged €47 for the pleasure of sitting on a bench waiting. No allowances for the parents bringing the kids here. Such a rip for parents bringing the business here. We won’t be back I also run an Airbnb and I will be advising my guests not to come. Disappointing

Such poor customer experience at Emerald Park…

Awful experience at emerald park recently. Out with a school group & the staff showed no training in customer service. Bus arrived to be greeted in the most rudest manner by a teenage member of staff & a security person. No good morning welcome to emerald park etc. Just a clip board shoved in my face to be informed in an aggressive manner thatthe school hasn’t paid & that I need to go to the reception & pay in full or all my students wouldn’t gain entry to the park. Teenage staff member proceeded to shout at my students to stay in a line, walk this way etc. Awful welcome when we had paid in full.
Emerald park need to train staff better. Customers need to leave wanting to come back again. I didn’t have that experience.

Emerald/Tayto Park

Emerald/Tayto Park. I was with a school tour. It was a great experience. Very well organised. Lots of helpful staff and plenty of choice activities. The food in "The Lodge" was delicious. Large portions and good quality. The Chef was very helpful. The park was spotlessly clean and easy to navigate around. It was busy with lots of school tours. But was less busy after 1pm. The kids had a fantastic time. I will definitely be back again.

The sight of all the birds of prey held in small cages absolutely ruined our day, both my children and I were upset at seeing them barely having enough room to spread their wings never mind fly,it even said on some of the cages that they weren’t endangered so they weren’t there for any conservation or breeding reason,No it was for human entertainment but most people don’t support or want this, also a lot of the main rides were closed.

Rude, Ignorant & Dismissive

Rude, ignorant management! I was there last week with my 4 kids. 2 SN teenagers and an 8 and 10 year old. They would only issue 4 wristbands despite me having 2 SN teens with me. It was therefore useless and since they are unable to stand in regular lines due to sensory reasons, we had to request a refund and leave. The manager that 'took care' of this was EXTREMELY rude and condecending and spoke to me with nothing but contempt. I ended up with 4 upset kids and meltdowns for the rest of the day. If they consistently stuck to their so called policy of 1 carer to 1 person with additional needs, it would be one thing, but this is NOT the case. Will NEVER go there again
