Tefal and Argos disgraceful customer services
Bought a Tefal airfryer from Argos and after a couple of months, we noticed a crack on the inside of the unit. The crack was so far inside the unit that there was no way it had been caused by us using the air fryer and so I believe the crack was there when we purchased the item but we just never saw it. I contacted both Argos and Tefal who refused an exchange and said my only option was a repair. My air fryer has been with the repair agent for two weeks now and I have just contacted them to find out how much longer the repair is expected to take only to be told they are waiting for a part which could take another 15 working days to arrive. This is disappointing customer service from both Tefal and Argos. I notice Tefal don't even bother to respond to reviews on here which shows their disregard for customer service. Take my advice and choose another brand.
Don't buy a Tefal Steam Iron
We bought a Tefal Easygliss Steam Iron costing £69.99 from Curry's. What a piece of rubbish.!! Even on the Eco Setting it spewed out far too much steam and moisture - so much so that after just one shirt the ironing board cover was wet. We brought this up with Tefal who suggested it NEEDED DESCALING - IT WAS BRAND NEW FOR GOODNESS SAKE. We sent it back to their repair centre who informed us that new parts were needed. We complained and asked for our money back and they refused so we went along with their offer to repair it. When it was returned it was little or no better. This time, having been referred back to Curry's we took it back to the store in Falkirk who were extremely helpful and got us our refund. A big thank you to Leah at Curry's Falkirk for being so understanding and helpful, and for getting us our money back.
Tefal customer services could learn a thing or to from Leah and Currys when it comes to customer service.
Stick to making frying pans Tefal because your Steam Irons are rubbish.
Tefal Xforce Vacuum Cleaner- Worst…
Tefal Xforce Vacuum Cleaner- Worst product and service ever, battery started smoking and emitting and acrid smell and the vacuum cleaner went dead. It was away to be "repaired" for 3 weeks and came back, a new battery shoved in but still wasn't working. They refused to refund and wanted their "experts to assess" the item again, the ones who weren't able to repair it in the first place. It's not even 3 months old and it's been out of service for a month so far. Tefal customer service are appalling, don't waste your money on this rubbish, buy a Shark instead, better made and much superior customer service.#SharkVacuum
Ingenio guarantee not worth the paper it's written on
Looking at the review score I'm clearly not the only one that has received substandard customer service in regards to the product 'warranty'. I purchased and Ingenio set and within a year then handle was failing to open. I contacted customer services to seek a replacement/repair to be fobbed off with a standard email that clearly contradicted what I had previously told them and the video sent. Last time I purchase any Tefal product - lesson learnt, look after your customers or wave goodbye to repeat custom.

Thank you for getting back to us. I hope this email finds you well.
We can advise you that the information on the packaging and provided with our Ingenio handles along with use and care information on our website recommend that you "remove the handle during cooking when it is not required to prevent it from overheating and ensure its durability". This means that you can use the handle on the pan whilst you are turning or stirring food as necessary. Once this has been done then removing the handle will prevent it from becoming overheated or in contact with any gas flames that may lick up the side of the pan.
There are many advantages to having a removable handle as highlighted in our literature and product instructions along with the added safety of avoiding the possibility of knocking a pan over off the hob. Full details and use and care information can be viewed on our website.
As your handle shows evidence that it has been exposed to prolonged heat from an external heat source this is not covered by the guarantee.
Warranty is next to worthless
I bought a travel mug, after a few months the seal dropped off the lid. I made a warranty claim, three months on, I have the same, incorrect large replacement seal sent twice and one, too small, incorrect seal. It’s like pulling teeth with their customer services, the communication is appalling, I just get messages to say an item has been despatched but no one contacts me to explain what. So I just wait weeks for something to turn up and then I have to contact them again because every one has been incorrect so far. Just pure incompetence and appalling service, not to mention that obviously the item hasn’t lasted long and additionally, it’s not a cheap travel mug I should add.
incompetent!!!
I wouldn't even give 1 start!
Tefal Air fryer which has been faulty from date of purchase.
I have returned it via currys and Tefal for repair 5 times and they keep sending it back with the same faults!!
Clearly their repair centre is incompetent that they can not fix the fault, so why not just refund me and write it off????
Trying to log a complaint or speak to a manager with Tefal is impossible!
When speaking to the customer service team at Tefal, it's like speaking to zombies no enthusiasm.
offer a blue light card discount but it’s less than the one they give to anyone
Was going to buy a pan set on their website which they showed had on their website with a discount code. I also had a blue light card discount code for emergency workers but their site only allows one code. So bluelight card customers can’t actually get any extra discount. Did a web chat with them and was dismissed.
I brought a kettle and within less than…
I brought a kettle and within less than 4 months it’s leaking. I went to the tefal store I brought it from to be told it has to be sent away to be repaired. I asked if they can supply a temporary replacement whilst it’s being repaired to be advised you dont offer that. So I had to go and buy a kettle to see me through for 3 weeks. Poor customer service in not offering a temp replacement. Has put me off buying anything from tefal.
I placed an order on tefal.co.uk…
I placed an order on tefal.co.uk yesterday morning (sunday) and I changed my mind on the order in the evening as facebook had bad reviews on the product which I only saw in the evening as I did my other research on you tube and other sites. Called monday morning at 9.42 to cancel as I had sent a request to cancel email lastnight. The person on the phone told me that its ready for picking and there was no way of calling the warehouse directly or if he requests to cancel they may not see this email before picking it. I then asked to speak to a manager he told me, I have to wait 48hours to receive a call back. In this day and age of advanced technology huge companies still work on old systems.
Why should a customer have to wait 2 days to speak to a manager. I'm sorry but tefal need to improve the customer 'cancel my order' experience for me to purchase again from tefal direct.
Buy anything other than a Tefal frying pan!
Bought a 32cm Tefal pan from Tesco.
12 months in..
The 'Non stick' feature had decided it's not too keen and has started rapidly disappearing.
The handle is loose, with a nasty cheap screw to retighten. Which then subsequently becomes loose again.
The bottom surface is cheap and nasty, resulting in having to clean it far more than what you should have after each use.
Utter junk. Off to scrap.
Poor quality vacuum, even worse customer support
Bought a handheld vacuum cleaner costing nearly £400 directly from them which stopped working after 7 months. Gave them all the information including a video of the issue that they requested, clearly showing the fault. They then randomly sent me a new charger and proceeded to ignore my email asking why they had sent it to me. Called their customer service line and was told the item would only be replaced if it became faulty in the first 30 days of purchase and they would need to collect the vacuum and try to repair it. All this time I am left without a vacuum cleaner, which they should have just replaced. Tefal clearly don't care about the quality of their products or their customers, their low score on this website and fact they don't reply to the feedback shows this. I will be avoiding and using a company who understands customer service such as Amazon, next time.
Frying Pan from Tefal with a broken lid
Frying Pan came from Tefal in a thin box with the lid on the pan so of course the knob was broken off in transit :(
Emailed customer services for a replacement and even offered to buy one if necessary. Only received robot replied after long delays and zero help. Totally worthless response. We have asked them to return the broken lid handle so we can glue it back together and hope the glue holds safely. My advise, buy Tefal from Amazon as they will take the defective products back!
Awful dishonnest customer service. No refund.
Awful dishonnest customer service. Even from a reputable brand.
I bought knives from Tefal website but they started to rust after washing them in the dishwasher. I had to to call and chase Customer service 4 times by email, and by phone to get someone to pick the faulty items.
2 weeks later, I chased. They requested a proof of collection which I didn’t have. Then they claimed that the refund had just been made. I replied saying I hadn’t received anything. No answer. I called back to chase again and ask for the reference number of the refund so that I can contact my bank which they pretended not having but that will be sent by email. Now I am going to contact Citizens Advice to see how to sort this out. Overall, a painful experience.
Avoid buying from Tefal UK. !!!!!
I ordered a new Steam Generator Iron directly from Tefal UK (order number TSN000322200) on next day delivery on Sunday 9th February 2025 and as of writing this review there is no sign of the item and I am now out of pocket for the amount of £250.
I have made several attempts to contact Tefal regarding my purchase and to say that they are less than helpful, or even interested, apologetic is an understatement, in short they don’t care and are completely dismissive and treat the customer as an inconvenience.
Tefal will not confirm where my item is, they will not send a replacement and they will also not refund my money either. It would appear that I am now left with no other choice than to contact the credit card company I used to administer a chargeback just to get my funds back as it would appear that the order has been lost or never even sent in the first instance. It is very evident to me that Tefal have zero intention to resolve this matter whatsoever.
If you are looking at purchasing anything from this company then please think again as they are not UK based (call centre) and I think everyone needs to read the reviews before they purchase, 1.3 stars out of 5. The experience I have received is certainly not what you expect from a company of this stature. Totally disgraceful service and I feel this company needs to be avoided at all costs to save anyone else losing their hard earned money by this unscrupulous company.
I hope you never need ‘customer service’
I bought a food steamer and after a couple of uses the basket took on the colours of whatever I steamed and looked awful.
Contacted customer services who decided, without asking any further questions, that it was the way I used and cleaned it.
I responded and they just kept coming back with the same statement.
There is a reason why their customer service is rated ‘bad’ - as all other reviews - they also don’t bother replying to bad reviews on Trustpilot.
Unfortunately this really is a ‘bad’ company if you need any help at all
I bought a Jamie oliver Frying Pan in…
I bought a Jamie oliver Frying Pan in December 2024. By January the metal handle was loose, it is riveted. I advised tefal who told me to tighten the screws and suggested I go to B and Q to buy a screwdriver. They don't understand their statutory responsibility when it comes to defective products. They are amature incompetent and don't know their own products, I continue to email them for a replacement. I will never purchase a tefal product again, not because I don't like the product but because the customer service is appalling.
Poor quality and worse customer service
Terrible Quality and Even Worse Customer Service – Avoid Tefal Steam Generator Irons!
I am extremely disappointed with the Tefal steam generator iron and even more appalled by Tefal’s lack of customer support. The product itself is of very poor quality and did not last as expected for a premium brand. After encountering a major fault far too soon, I reached out to Tefal’s Customer Relations Team, expecting at least a fair resolution. Instead, I was met with dismissive, unhelpful, and outright dishonest responses.
Rather than acknowledging the issue or offering any real support, they arrogantly claimed that their products are of “good quality”—a completely false and misleading statement given the number of customers experiencing similar issues. Their refusal to take responsibility shows a shocking disregard for their customers.
It’s clear that Tefal is more interested in denying faults than standing behind their products, and their so-called “customer service” is nothing but a scripted, defensive response designed to brush people off. Do yourself a favor and avoid this brand entirely—there are far better alternatives that actually care about their customers.
Absolutely NOT recommended!
Disappointing Quality and Awful Customer Support
My Tefal pan became convex after just 2.5 months of normal use—clear evidence of poor quality. But the real disappointment was the customer service. Their website has a form to open a warranty case, but guess what? It doesn’t work! One of the fields is defective, making it impossible to submit a claim.
I tried calling instead, only to be told that the warranty only covers peeling. Their solution? Offering me a discount to buy a new one. In an era where brands prioritise customer experience, Tefal is stuck in the dark ages. If they keep going down this path—declining product quality and terrible support—they’ll fade from the market, no matter their past dominance.
Avoid.
DO NOT PURCHASE A TEFAL PRODUCT
We left a review recently regarding the purchase of an iron which developed a fault after only 6 weeks from purchase. The outlet store where we purchased the item from referred us to GroupeSeb the parent company. We sent videos of the fault and this was escalated to a manager. We received no communication about next steps, but received a SMS from DPD to state that GroupeSeb will be collecting the iron today. I spoke with Will at Groupe Seb to find out what was going on, he confirmed that the iron is being collected and replaced and only when they receive the iron back at their warehouse, will they send a replacement. This will be a minimum of 7 days from receiving it back. They will not replace the iron until they receive the faulty one, which is a complete inconvenience, to expect a customer to have no iron for over 1 week. Will at customer service was not interested and stated this is their policy. If I don't like it then take the iron back to the store where it was purchased, who already told me that I needed to speak to the parent company. DISAPPOINTING lack of communication and inconvenience.
Good old fashioned customer service
After 8 years, my fabulous Tefal Steam Generator gave up the ghost. I contacted Tefal and spoke to Edmundo, who was brilliant. He asked what the problem with the iron was which I explained. He then said he'd email me 2 options to either get in touch with the repair team, or a discount voucher for 50%! The email arrived while I was still on the phone with him. It seemed unlikely that due to its age that it was repairable. So I ordered the updated model of my existing iron for half the price. He also explained that if it were to develop any fault, that a replacement iron would be sent whilst being repaired. My old iron worked faithfully for 8 years so am hoping the quality is still there with my new one. I found their service excellent and how amazing to be able to talk to someone in this day and age! Well done Tefal and Edmundo. One very happy customer 🙂🙂
