Worst customer service I’ve ever encountered
1 Star is too generous
One look at the reviews and seems I’m not alone
89% is shocking
Purchased a cordless vac and seems there’s a recall on the battery
Potentially catching fire.
Filled in online form months ago
No replacement battery received
Contacted customer service via messenger 2 weeks ago, took over a week to respond, I messaged back and 5 days later still no response and still unresolved
A useless hoover that I can’t use
I Won’t ever buy another product from Tefal again
Everyone…
Do yourselves a favour and buy from a company that values its customers
Tefal clearly does not

Without question the worse customer…

Without question the worse customer service I have ever received, not even worth 1 star. Purchased their dual airfryer which set on fire inside melting most of the plastic. I sent of product for repair only to be told 5 weeks later that they tested the unit and there is no fault however the unit cannot be repaired as to badly damaged. They would not offer replacement either as tried to say it must be something the user has done. They only offered a discount. I can assure you this is not user error. The customer service has been absolutely shocking. I have asked numerous times to speak to a supervisor which ofcourse never return calls. Was told by the customer service agent he couldn't put through to the supervisor as didnt have a number. I asked to be put through to complaints only to be told the same thing. They just fob you off everytime saying that someone will call which never happens. I would avoid at all costs. I will never use Tefal again.

The worst

The worst. They don't actually have any warranty or guarantee on their actual product. What they stand by is a replacement handle and the rest i.e. the actual product is not covered. They obviously do not believe or have any faith in their own products which show when then fail so quickly and do not allow returns either. Their customer service is brutally rude and unacknowledging of how poor this is

Worst example of customer service I’ve…

Worst example of customer service I’ve ever encountered. Products maybe excellent, but you only find out the true worth of a business when you need help/assistance…would avoid at all costs and Tefal have no idea of good customer service.
Ordered a steam generator iron for next day delivery which never happened. Upon investigation it was determined that the courier company was returning the parcel back to Tefal. I was told that they had not determined what the reason for the return was, however I would need to wait a further seven working days before the return happened and only after this point would they determine whether a refund was possible or if I wanted for the product to be resent. Although problems do occur from time to time in life, in this particular instance it was not of the customers doing yet after purchasing a product in good faith the company failed abysmally in not only not delivering the product despite it being paid for, but making them wait unacceptable period of time for resolution. clearly good customer service is not a priority with this company.

OptiGrill Elite: serious product quality concerns and food safety

I purchased OptiGrill Elite XL GC760D40 on 22 Sep 2025; delivered a couple of days later. The non-stick coating on the grill plates started to peel within the first two weeks of light use, which was highly disappointing and raised serious concerns about product quality and food safety. I contacted the customer service team on 14 Oct 2025 (3 weeks after purchase). They sent a new plate that arrived ~25 days later. As both plates were faulty, I still was not able to use the product, and I would need to wait at least another 2-4 weeks. I was told that the plates come from France, and that's why it takes almost a month to receive a replacement plate. Then I asked for a refund, but I was told it is not within the 30-day limit anymore, and it is not possible. I reported the fault within 30 days, and they sent a replacement that arrived after a long delay (outside my control).

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Section 22(6), the 30-day clock stops as soon as I report the fault and they agree to resolve it. Now, after around 1-2 months of waiting and not using a product that I paid for, they don't refund my money. The 160£ grill that I have paid for is unusable from the first 2 weeks of light use.

Whats the point of leaving a review for tefal?

Lovely man to talk if you've got all day. But where's my battery. Why can't they email all the customers awaiting a replacement battery?
I feel sorry for those with only one vacuum cleaner. Luckily my wife collects them for future antique roadshow events.

Would never buy another Tefal product

Iron faulty after careful use, possibly within period of guarantee but we could not access this to verify. Tefal charge £80 to repair, this repair guaranteed only for three months, plus £8 home delivery. Replacement offered and accepted but this iron arrived wet, dirty and damaged. Customer Services ineffective and unhelpful. Management in both UK and France ignored letters. After countless emails, Tefal offered discounted purchase but this offer is available to all anyway so not compensatory. Went on for months, have given up now.

Tefal customer services expect me and…

Tefal customer services expect me and my kids to use a soiled grill.

Tefal customer service is one of the worst I’ve come across.
Sent a grill back for repair due to an intermittent problem. Was told there was nothing wrong with it without even watching the video that i recorded. Sent back in a totally inappropriate packaging that had split open and soaking wet.
Whatever the grill was now covered in later crystallised (so not water).
They have it back with them now and are still refusing to exchange it or refund me. Instead I got a lecture about how the company is committed to saving the polar bears. You should be committed to keeping your customers happy as we pay your wages.
To say I’m furious is an understatement.
They are expecting me to use this grill when it’s had a substance poured over it and then crystallised . Absolutely disgusting after sales. You’re an embarrassment to the brand.

Steer clear of X-Force vacuum cleaners

I was so pleased with my Tefal X-Force 16.0 Vacuum cleaner. That is, until I was contacted and asked to dispose of the battery as they had proved to be faulty. I was told to expect a replacement in 3-4 weeks. Now, five weeks later, I am still waiting. All emails to customer services are replied to with a bland, scripted message, and I quote, "The recall is handled by a different department, specifically the headquarters in France, so we are unable to provide an exact arrival date.” Unbelievable. Abysmal customer service.

10-Month-Old air fryer not fit for purpose

I purchased an air fryer in November 2024 and one of the drawers broke a month ago and I am still waiting for a replacement. They sent a drawer but it was the wrong colour and the wrong size for the air fryer I have. 4 weeks after reporting the issue, I am still waiting for a suitable replacement. I have an air fryer that's less than a year old that is not fit for purpose.
Customer service is slow to respond and tone of their emails can seem quite blunt.

After sales help? Hardly

I bought a multicooker air fry 6 weeks ago. Last week a small plastic part of the handle broke.
They want the whole thing back to repair. All I need is the plastic cap that will cost pennies.
I'll be without my cooker for up to 2 weeks for them to fix a cosmetic issue. Which, by the way they say is NEVER a manufacturing fault! Apparently my washing it up by hand was too rough for it.
I asked about a replacement inner pot. They don't do spares for this despite rrp being over £100.
Here's me thinking companies are supposed to be reducing carbon emissions and waste. Tefal couldn't care less. They could send the replacement piece in the post for inder £1 even at Post Office prices.

Broken removable handle on a. Ingenio pan set

A piece off the handle broke off causing the pan to fall, nearly causing a serious accident. The Ingenio pan set was purchased from Very. I contacted Very customer service and an advisor gave me Tefals product support number. I was emailed a case number and was asked to send proof of purchase and photo evidence. I received an email saying the item wasn't covered and I could purchase a new handle. The item is 10 weeks old!! Disgusting service.

1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointed with Tefal Service

I honestly thought Tefal was a reliable brand, but I was completely wrong. I paid £240 for a steam generator iron that turned out to be faulty, and the customer service has been absolutely horrendous.

It’s taken them over two weeks just to collect the iron, and it’s still not repaired or returned. For a premium-priced product, I expected much better service and faster support.

I really wish I had checked the reviews on Trustpilot before spending so much money — it seems I’m not the only one who’s had this experience. Do not buy from Tefal.

Faulty Pan After One Use & Awful Customer Service

I bought the Tefal Ingenio Emotion 13-piece set and could not believe the quality. After just one normal use, one of the pans was already marked and stained inside and out. This is a product advertised as non-stick and “premium,” yet it looked damaged immediately.

When I contacted Tefal, instead of admitting it might be defective or offering a replacement under their guarantee, I was simply given a list of cleaning tips (all of which I had already tried). The issue is not cleaning — the pan was faulty from the start. To make things worse, Tefal expect me to pay the return costs, even though this falls under warranty and my consumer rights.

For the price and the reputation of the brand, this is extremely disappointing. Poor quality product, poor aftercare, and no accountability.

I won’t be buying Tefal again and would warn others to think twice before spending their money.

Tefal products aren't as good as they used to be

Tefal products aren't as good as they used to be. They have gotten worse over the past decade. They're still better than cheaper competitors such as Scoville and own brand pots and pans, but they're longer anywhere near as good as other competitors in the premium price range, which they compete against with their pricing.

The big issue I find with them is that their non-stick technology doesn't work and their warranty is only a yearlong when other premium products are 5,10 or lifetime. My advice is chose Ninja pots and pans over Tefal. They're often on sale at around the same price but the ninja ones are visably made of better materials, actually has no-stick that works and they all come with long warranties.

RECALL WARNING: Tefal X-FORCE FLEX 14.60/15.60

Date of experience: September 2025

I am writing this as an urgent warning regarding the Tefal X-FORCE FLEX 14.60/15.60 battery recall. The product, purchased in 2025 , is virtually brand new but is now completely unusable due to a confirmed manufacturer-caused safety defect.

1. Unacceptable Safety & Loss of Use:
Tefal requires customers to stop using the vacuum immediately due to the fire risk. However, the replacement battery delivery is estimated at 3-4 weeks, meaning I am left without a necessary home appliance for over a month.

2. Scandalous Refusal of Remedy:
The consumer service team flatly refused to offer a refund, refused to offer ANY compensation for this month-long loss of use, and repeatedly stated they are "not accountable." This denial of responsibility for a fundamental product failure is an insult to consumer trust.

3. Manufacturer Shifting Cost of Hazardous Waste (£??):
The most shocking part is the refusal to reimburse the essential cost of safely disposing of this hazardous, recalled battery. I am required to pay £?? (estimated cost covering 2 hours of essential travel/labour to a hazardous waste recycling centre) to clean up Tefal's manufacturing fault.

This is not compensation; this is a direct financial loss incurred to fulfil the manufacturer's safety obligation.
