Refusing to see a registered patient

My experience of the dentists and hygienists themselves have always been first class. The admin team are now refusing me (a registered patient) an appointment after they have appear to have taken more patients than they can cope with.

X Ray Robbery.

I signed up online, was checked into a private clinic, though i had chosen to be an NHS patient, okay.. online bookings could immediately put you on a private booking, which is fine. Don't trust their website.. fine.

I had been booked for a examination, that day i lost my wallet, so i called the dentistry to ask what would be cost, as my personal bank account will only give an amount of money, without identification. I spoke to their receptionist who advised me i was a private booking, therefore on the system it should be £55. I explained my situation, and advised i would go to my bank and try to withdraw £55 without a debit card or a passport.

After my appointment they decided to charge me £100, i asked why? To which they responded, several scans were needed and we have to charge per scan.

I was not advised their would be a charge, secondly other dentists that i have visited usually do a 'checkup' including the final bill as inclusive of scans.

When i asked how their was a difference from 55 to £100, i was advised they don't know how many scans are needed.. and they charge per scan. Bringing me back to my first question.... Should you not advise your customer/patient before you do things and expect them to pay? Furthermore increase the cost of a bill that was originally quoted??

I will go back when i am able to access my bank account, pay the final bill and never visit this dental practice again, in fear they may provide me with a glass of water and charge me £11 for it.
I furthermore advise anyone else in the oxford area to do the same.
