Very poor Tesla communication

Been to two different UK Tesla sites trying to buy certified pre owned model 3 cars. Appointment and test drive organised both times. First time arrived to find car sold with no communication text to me. Second time did receive text but 13 mins before test drive was due. Considering it took me over an hour to drive to both sites Tesla customer service in terms of communication is diabolical. I would expect to be told immediately if a car is sold to prevent me wasting my time let alone expense. Will now buy from a different manufacturer.

I thought I’d save money over time but…

I thought I’d save money over time but looking at it- nope. I bought the 2021 M3 and in 2024 and 2025 had to replace the control arms and bushings on all four tires… then out of nowhere with no warning the battery dies at 163000kilometres - 3000 over the warranty. (1850 miles for Americans). That’s a $12000canadian replacement in five years. I only charged to 80 percent almost always except for the odd long trip. Bye bye Tesla. Going somewhere else. No entertaining a discount to fix even though it was so close to the warranty.

Bought a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery

Bought a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery. £375 rebate offered. Received 375 dollars on a virtual card which somehow converts to £277. Spoke to customer service who were incredibly unhelpful just kept repeating it’s loaded in dollars. I explained that is not as advertised. Tried to use the card having had to remove and re add it to my Apple Pay only for it to constantly decline. Short of it is you can’t actually use the rebate and the rebate, certainly in my case, was significantly less than advertised. What a shocking experience.

For balance I would like to share that it came as an unexpected and welcome surprise that a further reward card was sent to me with the balance of the advertised £375. This was followed by a phone call to ensure I had received the additional card and an apology for the error. Fair play and credit where credits due. Thank you.

I really wanted to buy a model 3 but couldn't

I really wanted to buy a model 3 but it just wasn't to be. The Tesla experience is an odd one with most of it done by a central team. There is no negotiation over the vehicle price or the trade-in value of your current car. My car was valued at around £28k by other dealers but Tesla only offered me £22k. I suspect I'm not alone in this regard. Better hopes for the BMWi3.

Consistently poor Delivery service

Tesla seem to have serious issues with their delivery organisation at present: Until they do, I recommend buyers to stay away, unless they are willing to invest significant amounts of time in admin work.

Issues with my order included:

1. Failure to timely report on a problem with the order (colour no longer availabie).

2. Repeated failure to respond to email requests.

3. Unilateral price changes POST order.

4. As a buyer I was forced to deal with many admin matters directly, when This should be done by the delivery team.

4. Requiring the buyer to travel 2 hours to pick up the vehicle, instead of delivering in a location close to home.

The Car itself is very nice, though.

Rude, Arrogant and Absolutely un-helpful support staff

option would have be to give lower rating, I would have. Rude support staff, arrogant responses, highly unhelpful.
They suggest, quick option to contact is live chat.. but live chat is 48 hours response and they respond in 11 - 12 days and that too rudely. Cancelled my order. And thank god, I didn't buy the car.

Update (22-April-2026): Just received a call Tesla, one of the most rude call to salvage a customer. Too sarcastic and demeaning. I would gladly say in big bold - DON'T BUY TESLA. I thank god, that I didn't buy one at this point of time.

Sometimes frustrating

I’ve been a bit surprised to see the low ratings here and although I can empathise with a lot of the comments, overall I can only call it as we found it. So, after numerous EV test drives across a number of manufacturers, Tesla’s cars stood out and felt like an EV that had been designed from the bottom up rather than a conventional car manufacturer playing catch up. I might add that we don’t feel particularly adjacent to the brand as such but it just did what we were looking for better than any other brand in our price range. Admittedly once we’d made our choice of a Tesla Y then the experience did dip somewhat but once we’d adjusted our mindset to Tesla’s sales/delivery approach via an app then we didn’t feel so offended. Yes, it’s lacks a bit of ‘customer service’ and contact can be frustrating but finally after 2 months to’ing and fro’ing we recently took delivery of our Tesla Y at Longbridge UK. The handover and p/ex was slick and unfussy and we are happy with our choice so far. Ask me again after a year or so of ownership but so far so good.

1 Star -- Tesla Mount Kisco Financing…

1 Star -- Tesla Mount Kisco Financing Scam. Ordered a 2026 Model Y. Said my max down payment was $1,500. Tesla
▎ demanded $14,124.39 -- 9x more -- at 13.21% APR. Total cost: $76K for a $54K car. Tesla blamed Santander Bank.
▎ I called Santander. They have NO RECORD of me. Zero. Tesla's own contract names TESLA as the creditor, not
▎ Santander. My husband co-applied -- nothing changed. Not one dollar. Tesla told me to sign the contract first
▎ THEN negotiate. The contract says NO COOLING OFF PERIOD and no oral changes are binding. They wanted $14K
▎ through the app before I even signed. Tesla's contract literally says the APR is negotiable with the Seller.
▎ They control the terms and blame a phantom bank. Filed with CFPB, NY AG, FTC, and DFS. Read your contract
▎ before financing through Tesla.

Trying to speak to a sales advisor…

Trying to speak to a sales advisor about a certified pre-owned vehicle has been incredibly frustrating. It’s almost impossible to get hold of anyone directly. On the rare occasions I do receive a response, it’s often days later, usually just a brief text or call to say the car has already been sold. In many cases, my enquiry isn’t responded to at all.

For a company like Tesla, I expected a far more responsive and customer-focused experience. The current approach makes it feel as though potential customers aren’t a priority, particularly when trying to make what is a significant purchase.

If this is representative of the buying journey, it does raise concerns about the level of support and service afterwards. As things stand, I’m seriously considering exploring other car brands that offer a more accessible and engaging customer experience.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience ordering a Tesla Model Y. What should have been an exciting purchase quickly turned into frustration and ultimately led me to cancel my order.

I was initially given a part exchange valuation, which was later reduced by £600. The justification provided was alleged “damage” to my car — damage that simply does not exist. This felt completely misleading and unfair, and it seriously undermined my trust in the process.

Tesla does not negotiate on their vehicle prices, so it’s difficult to accept that customers are expected to tolerate last-minute reductions in part exchange values based on questionable claims.

On top of that, there was virtually no communication from the sales team throughout the entire process. For a company of Tesla’s size and reputation, this level of customer service is unacceptable.

In the end, I cancelled my order for a car I genuinely wanted, purely because of how this was handled. Very disappointing experience overall.

Tris in worldwide Customer service is embarrassing

Customer service is embarrassing .Tris according to her, is in charge of worldwide customer support and extremely ful of herself and reads from the “nope” script.

I have two teslas. I just bough one and received one month of FSD. That month expired. A poop came up on our notifications saying last day of FSD do you want to renew. I did! But after other notifications popped up the subscription was applied to my other Tesla which never had FSD.

I noticed this 30 minutes later and tried to cancel and or switch the Tesla that had it. No can do say Tris. I mentioned the net change in fees paid to tesla is the exact same. Not our problem states Tris. This is the abbreviated version of an hour of time.

The silver lining of this is Trish will to be replaced by AI. Thankfully

Best car manufacturer

And another thing: it is and will always remain the best car manufacturer in the world. No other brand can compete with Tesla in the BEV space. Sure, there are and will be cheaper options, but price alone doesn’t make a great car—Tesla delivers that at any price point.

In every major city across Germany, you’ll find Tesla stores, and along the highways there are Superchargers everywhere. That’s what I call real presence. The mobile service (Ranger Service) also outperforms everything else.

Thank you, Elon Musk, for believing in this brand back then and turning it into what it is today. Much love.

Worst Customer Service/Experience I Have Ever Had - Ordering a BYD

Ordered an in-stock company car, was assigned a car and a delivery date. Took day off for delivery, took out insurance on new car, completed finance approval, and arranged for old car to be collected. My new car was then unassigned to me with no more in stock until end of May-June. Requested compensation for losing days pay and inconvenience of having no car and cancelling family travel plans over easter. Told not willing to compensate in any way and will not entertain any supercharger credit, monetary compensation or spec upgrade. CS attrocious in resolving anything, never got escalated as advised and always onus on me to chase (1-2 hr wait on phone each time), despite my urgent issue. Will never buy a Tesla or recommend them to anyone within or outside of my business. Smacks of bif company trying to be clever with automated systems not fit for purpose. Order cancelled and will be ordering a BYD.

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. The shame is I love the car, but the service is beyond terrible. They never have parts in stock and there always seems to be a long wait for them to order parts in. And their charges are £200 per hour labour and I find their number of labour hours in estimates questionable to say the least. I have had my Tesla 6 years now. It has been in for repair a number of times and each one has been a very disappointing and stressful experience

Worst customer care and processes…

If i could give lower rate on how bad Tesla customer service is and has been from day 1 i would do that with no hesitation. They do not care about the customers! There is no easy way to talk to custoner service. Even if you lucky and talk to them, in most cases , if not all case, they do not have resolution for youbas their system and process is so WEAK, with no intention for improvement.
I had many frustrating experiences with them and it is so disappointing to see that... hope people finally see the truth and stop buying this car ...
