My girlfriend and I used The Africa Specialists recently when we wanted to go on vacation in Africa. They recommended and tailor made our itinerary based on our preferences which ended up being 4 nights on Safari at Lake Manze Camp and 4 nights at a beautiful beach resort in Zanzibar. We had tons of questions from beginning to end and they were very helpful and accommodating throughout. When one of our planes on the way to our destination was delayed which meant we would be unable to make our final connection and we weren't sure what to do, Nick was there to take our call and reassured us that of course this thing happens from time to time and that we shouldn't worry. They recommended a nice affordable hotel to stay the night and arranged for us to get tickets on the next flight out the following morning. Once we got to our destinations, both locations that the Africa Specialists recommended were spectacular. We had an unforgettable experience and we would highly recommend the Africa Specialists to anyone and we would use them again ourselves if and when we decide to come back some day. Prompt, helpful and excellent service in planning our safari in Selous, Tanzania. Gemma was very responsive and helpful in recommending the perfect place for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids (and when she wasn't available, her colleague Nick helped us quickly with anything we needed). We had the most incredible experience at Lake Manze Camp and would highly recommend the services of The Africa Specialists in planning the perfect safari for you.

We started off choosing The Africa Specialists to help plan and book our honeymoon to Tanzania and Zanzibar. We wanted a tailored experience without the stress of having to plan routes and pick hotels ourselves. Nick really worked with us to understand what we would enjoy doing, which some other companies haven't quite put as much effort in with. In the end, after discussions with Nick, we decided we would get a lot more for our money and some different experiences if we went to South Africa. We came up with a fantastic route to see many different places in SA, Cape Town, Franschhoek (wine tasting), Hermanus (whale watching), Safari, Durban, Zulu-Natal (Zulu history tour), discussing the pros and cons of different routes and hotels. Ultimately the final decision was ours, but having his experience and suggestions was great and we are really pleased we changed our plans.

We decided to upgrade one of our hotel rooms while we were out there and emailed to ask if this was possible, it was done with no hassle. Tickets for some attractions were also booked which meant we didn't have to waste time queuing. He suggested a history trip which was a bit different and we would never have thought of doing, it was really interesting so we are glad we took up the suggestion. Overall a fantastic honeymoon and we will be going back to SA at some point! I would highly recommend The Africa Specialists if you want to book a memorable trip.

Great staff, esp driver & guide. Very well- organized and comfortable camp. Management on top of EVERYTHING. ANIMALS!!!

They did a great job. I was doing the research on my own and checking prices with different operators as well as the lodges themselves. Only African Specialists gave the same prices as both the local airlines and our lodges. It was amazing how high the mark up was with some other operators. They were also great in their attentions to us.

We had a truly incredible honeymoon thanks to The Africa Specialists. Gemma and Nick did an amazing job planning our honeymoon. The company is small, so you get really wonderful personalized attention throughout the planning and trip. We spent one week on Safari in Tanzania, and the second week relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar. Our honeymoon exceeded all of our expectations, and having knowledgeable travel agents plan this for us took away any stress from the process. They chose incredible hotels and drivers for us, so all we had to do was show up and enjoy. We would definitely recommend the Africa Specialists to anyone looking to do a customized, luxury Safari!

If I could give Gemma a million stars, I would!!! We planned my honeymoon together and it turned out to be better than I could have ever dreamed of. I would not have been able to do it without Gemma. The process was so easy and FUN. Gemma was patient and very responsive. I am already thinking about our next trip! :)

We had a brilliant holiday. Gemma listened to our ideas and put together a well organised safari and island holiday that suited us perfectly. Flights all went smoothly and descriptions of accommodation and safaris accurate. Good value in comparison to some other companies. I would definitely recommend this company.

Nick was a dream to work with--so responsive and organized.

This is our second trip with Nick at The Africa Specialists. He planned a beautiful trip for my family and arranged for us to have the Same safari guide we had six years ago which we really appreciate it. We greatly enjoyed our time in Tanzania on safari the lodges, services and food was wonderful. Thank you Nick for making our trip So Memorable we felt like VIPs on the whole trip.

The work Gemma and Nick did has proved to be really exceptional. They have been extremely receptive to our requests and you interpreted our desires as if you really knew us. We have been particularly impressed with the style that all the experiences/properties shared: something connected to a sustainable kind of tourism, young, luxurious but authentic and respectful of the place we were. We also really appreciated that you were very attentive and available during the preparatory stages when we needed to book everything and decide the details. All the information were always given promptly and precisely.

It was a very good recomendation to go for the Selous parc and not Serrengenti; more natural, authentic, variety of landscape, The managers,staff and guide felt nicer, less spoiled.



The camp was just perfect, simple, beautiful, exclusive, even these kinds words do not describe it well !



The shooting star hotel in Zanzibar was also very good but we both prefered Paje vers Kinegawa and the Dhow In hotel in Paje was cleaner, younger and cheaper



Kite surfing accomodation, wind and school was better in Paje.



The view from the swiming pool of shooting star will be hard to beat....

Gemma was amazing she planned our honeymoon and everything was perfect.

Good hotels, all transfers, plenty of advice and ensuring that our trip was as great as it could be.

The new app Vamoos was great it had all our itinerary etc in one place without us needing to print off lots of paper .

Just got back from the most amazing trip to Tanzania which was arranged by The Africa Specialists. Our trip included climbing Kilimanjaro and a safari in the Serengeti and it went perfectly. I cannot reccommend them highly enough.

We had an unbelievable trip which was well organised with every aspect having being thought out and planned for us prior. We had very little to worry or think about which allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. This was genuinely the best holiday we have had as a couple - an unforgettable and amazing experience.

The Africa Specialists were a fantastic tour agency to work with! I have only praises for the whole experience. The staff is incredibly professional, responsive, and friendly - supporting my planning of my trip at every phase and helping me understand different decision points. Gemma in particular was a great help and super friendly and supportive! My family and I had a great trip to the Serengeti and every step of the journey was seamless and easy - all flights were in order and easy to access / understand. We had representatives from the Four Seasons waiting for us at the airport and took great care of us all throughout our stay there - including the game drives at morning and dusk. Highly recommend this service for planning a great vacation!

Gemma at The Africa Specialists was great. She was very quick to respond and was very knowledgeable about all the travel options.
Our trip was unique I think because I had made some arrangements on my own and she helped us tailor everything together perfectly. Again, great and speedy communication to all my questions, I would definitely use The Africa Specialists again!

We had planned our trip to Tanzania months in advance. Last minute, about 3 weeks before departure, we decided to add a short 2-day Safari. I had contacted a few companies and most didn't want to bother with such a short Safari. Nick was the exact opposite. He jumped right in and had options back to me within 48 hours. Nick was excellent to work with and his follow up was amazing. In the end, we decided on Selous Game Reserve and it was the perfect recommendation from Nick. Lastly, they use an app called Vamoos that housed all of our information from airlines, camp, safari, etc. Would definitely use them again!
