The A World UK CIC is a non-profit organisation supporting the autistic community across the North of England. The A World UK receives no funding from outside sources, we rely solely on the generous donations of pre-loved items and the money donations from members of the public. The funds raised via the community stores and the text to donate service are used to by The A World UK to provide services to the autistic community and their families. Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition, we are proud to state that we support individuals of all ages. Unfortunately, far too many support abruptly stops when an individual reaches the age of 25, we understand and recognise that the individual will still require support regardless of their age!  Our aim is to help and support the Autistic Community through providing a variety of services, we currently offer funded holidays*, horse-riding sessions, and many more inclusive events which are held throughout the year.

The A world has been a life saver for…

The A world has been a life saver for us as a family. We have been to several A world events including Guillivers world and land of lights, and we are looking forward to Blackpool Zoo next year! They are days me and my partner can look forward to as we have no anxiety as it’s a judgment free zone where we can make happy memories and feel comfortable that we don’t have to defend our beautiful son simply for being himself. We feel supported, calm and happy and I know these feelings create a calm atmosphere for our son so we can all enjoy the day together. It is also so lovely to be around other families who are in the same position as us and it is nice for us to chat to other families, gain advice or simply share a smile and understanding. Thank you A world for the amazing job you do. You have no idea how your events make such a difference to our son and families like us. Katie Smith.

The Awesome A World!

I can't recommend The A World highly enough from days out, holidays, online support and the local charity shops.
The planning that goes behind all events offered to families is meticulous. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed and the planning must surely be around the clock the way events are executed.
The communication between the charity and the people benefiting from its services is superb.

Fab Diggerland takeover

The A World is an amazing supportive organisation. Their funded events and holidays are fantastic for autistic individuals and their families. We really enjoyed our time at the Diggerland takeover last week. It was relaxing with less queuing and such a calm environment. As a family we wouldn't normally think of going to a theme park but the A World makes it happen. We also enjoyed the lovely Twixmas experience at Gulliver's World just after Christmas.
We are looking forward to staying at the Haven caravan later on this year and we really value the A World's free collection service of our pre loved items for their stores. I saw some of our recently donated items in my local store's window. That was such a lovely feeling. Thank you the A World for all your truly amazing work😊

The A World has made it possible for…

The A World has made it possible for our boys to access and enjoy places they wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to. Such a fantastic organisation supporting so many families! We’ve had great experiences at Gullivers, Eureka & Diggerland, and we have Bewilderwood booked in next month, we can’t wait!

Amazing Charity

The A world asked if myself & family would like a holiday to Haven.. we jumped at the chance.
What an absolute amazing time we had. Making memories that would last a life time. Watching our boys living there best life. Was just the absolute best feeling ever. What did make it more memorable was my 4 year old who’s Autistic lost his first tooth while we was away, I don’t know who was more emotional.. me or the little one (lol)
This charity gave my family a chance to have a break from the crazy life we have at home, we needed it!! We didn’t want to leave.
This amazing charity made this possible for us. We can’t thank them enough.

A world events and holiday

The A World have supported our family through the event days and through the holiday caravan in Blackpool. The event days at gullivers and diggerland have been absolutely fantastic, the most autism friendly days we have ever had they are completely inclusive and every detail has been fully thought about from the number of guests, to the queue times, to the relaxed atmosphere, to the booking process, to the social stories to help prepare before hand, and not to forget the amazing photographer capturing all the smiles of the day. We have previously had to abandon days out very early on due to the distress and meltdowns but can honestly say we have never had this with the a worlds takeover events. We absolutely love them and they are very much a lifeline for our family. Thank you A World!!

The A-World has given our family…

The A-World has given our family opportunities we would be too anxious to do without their mega take overs due to the overwhelming business and waiting in usual times at various attractions which are two things our son struggles with. It gives him opportunities to do things he may of never done before such as Diggerland - he went on the spindizzy which was incredible to see!
We have done two events with A-World and are eager to do more when we can book on to them. We really appreciate the time and care that they give families and we need more of this in the world.

Thank you A-World x

The most amazing charity

The A world have given my family back a sense of normality. We can finally enjoy days out as a family without the worry of our boys getting stressed out by massive queues, too many people, loud noises etc.
We don't have to worry about other people staring if my youngest is swimming or even if there happens to be a meltdown because everyone else is in the same boat. We all understand and support. Thankyou so much A world, you are amazing.

My whole Family had the most incredible day!

Me and my whole Family had the most incredible day out with the A world UK at Gulliver’s World. This was the first time my three children have ever been able to experience a day out like this and their first ever time going to a theme park. I have two children with Autism and my daughter being non verbal and who has severe difficulties would usually struggle with a big day out like this, but we all had such a lovely day and it was lovely to meet other familes with Children with Autism and feel so at ease and relaxed being surrounded by everyone who understands your childs needs. We will forever be grateful for getting to experience the day and for all the incredible work The A world UK continues to do and also for the support and putting on amazing events for families like ours.

A for amazing

Wonderful day at gullivers. The park was much quieter than a regular day which made it far less stressful. Queues were so short which made things much easier. It was lovely to see families enjoying themselves especially as everyone understood other children's behaviours and needs. Thankyou !

Much needed break

The A word sent me and my 2 children to Marton mere for a weekend. It was a much needed break. There was a mix up with the caravans and they went out of their way to get us another van so we wouldn't miss out. Truly grateful.

A wonderful community

We heard about the a world from a friend who had already been on a couple of take over days and become a member. When I had a look at the website I was surprised to find out that an a world charity shop had recently opened in our town, so I decided to go down and have a look around. I started chatting to one of the ladies who volunteered in the shop and she told me more about the wide variety of projects that the a world offer and contribute to. Since then we have become regulars at the shop and we’ve been to a take over days at Gullivers world and Eureka. The take over days are so welcoming and relaxed. It’s so nice to spend time with other children and families who understand rather than sympathise. We’re already looking forward to our next take over day at Bewilderwood in a few weeks.
If you looking for a community who understand both the challenges and rewards of being a parent to an autistic child then I can’t recommend the a world events enough.

A stress free day/night out for the whole family!

I wanted to share my experience of this wonderful charity. My family had been able to access days out through The A World UK that we previously would not been able to access. The allow us to attend places like Gulivers world, Eureka, different zoo's and even holidays in a calmer, well planned and suppprted environment, which for children on the spectrum is essential. We never feel judged when we attend an avent because there are people who understand and accept. If thay was not the best reason to attend the events then maybe the fact that they are reduced, if not free of cost just makes what would normally be a struggle for our family to attend, an even more stress free experience. We love finding out what The A World has planned next and the social stories sent to us when we book on elevates and pressure and worries for the children too. We can't recommend them enough!
