Where do I begin:
So after extensive research and planning I found The Belmont Hotel. We booked and I came up with my dad for a holiday in winter and he had with him his Patterdale Jet who was 16 years old at the time so it was her last experience with us all, that is why it was imperative that we found somewhere dog friendly but also clean and aesthetically pleasing.
Upon arrival Abbie and Andy the owners and hosts were so happy and welcoming and they even offered to help us carry our stuff up, then with a smile they politely explained how the keys work and then they did everything in their power to make our stay comfortable before we even got to our room, they asked and allieviated all possible concerns and when I went into the room they even had homemade biscuits for us! The room was fantastic, we had sea views and we had full control of heating which was impressive for the price. Nice telly on the wall and a lovely shower inside the ensuite with a plentiful amount of toiletries and towels and even a menu for more if necessary.
After our initial discussion we were politely left to roam Torquay and had a great evening. Unfortunately because we had a couple of beers we had forgotten to prepare our breakfast menu but as we went down to the light, clean and spacious dining room, Abbie personally came an tended to our needs immediately. I had a nice coffee in a cafetiere prepared, my dad had a pot of tea to himself, we had unlimited toast and any juices, plus cereals too. Abbie then proceeds to ask us about allergies, preferences etc and we ended up both going for the full English which was divine! It was cooked fresh and when you check out the website wew.thebelmonttorquay.co.uk and look at the image of their breakfast it was literally the same. The food was amazing and there was everything and more avaliable including butter, ketchup and any other condiment. She gave us our space to eat and we were not rushed and she even gave us a sausage each day for Jet who was in our room.
As usual Abbie also has alot of great recommendations on where to eat, where to go and what to do and it was valuable as we are not from the area. I can not begin to describe how happy and homely we felt, anytime we needed anything then had already attended to it and the cool thing is there is a pick and mix station behind reception where you can grab anything from loo roll to coffee.
I don't usually leave reviews but this place and especially the hosts deserve recognition for the effort and love they emanate and provide, its becoming more rare nowadays and this is from a b&b that is less than £100 a night with a 2min walk to the beach. I will definitely be coming back next season. 10/10
