Brilliant app well worth the money

I am a 90 day grad and a grad grad . I have been on the app for three months now. There are lots of great recipes, lots of variety of workouts and plenty of encouragement not only from the various groups on Facebook but also from Joe himself . You do have to put in the effort to work out and cook healthy but it couldn’t be easier and if you wake up some days without motivation you will soon find the motivation from the various posts from fellow leanies. So what are you waiting for you won’t regret it . Sign up to the app get the body you’ve always wanted .

Ups and downs of 90 day plan

I am hoping this will be a balanced view on what to expect from the plan. First of all, I don't think all of the bad reviews are wrong, when they say the plan is not tailored / individual - it's not; everyone gets the same menus and exercises - the amounts are adjusted according to a formula, to create a small calorie deficit (think about 1 pound weight loss per week loss on average)
There is a wide range of food options and a lot of it is tasty. But it is expensive if you are going to follow it to the letter and there are some odd ingredients such as flaxseed and edamame beans. Chicken breast and salmon is high protein but pricey.
The amount of planning and preparation seems overwhelming and complicated and the meals are not all quick to cook - I don't think this plan is that simple to follow as you are expected to eat certain meal types in relation to when you exercise. (I'm sceptical about how much this is actually necessary though). There is A LOT of yogurt and eggs, if you don't like these you'll be a bit stuck.
A lot of people 'batch cook' and freeze but it wasn't for me to take most of a day out of the weekend to cook and prepare for the week. It feels like a lot of work. However, I'm sure this gets easier and quicker with practice.
There is a Facebook support group which is very active and can be helpful for sharing tips and motivation! However, it does border on cultish at times ("You Must Trust The Plan"), with some terrible advice being given and no moderation.
The 5 workouts per cycle are progressively harder and challenging (if a bit repetitive), and there is no doubt you will get fitter and stronger if you do them. That is if you can avoid injury. The number of people complaining of knee problems is worrying. It's questionable as to whether 5 HIITs a week is a good idea long term.
I am halfway through the 90 days and am treating the plan 'flexibly' - mixing healthy off-plan food choices with plan meals and same with the exercise.
I'm pleased so far with my weight loss and fitness progress. Despite what some people may tell you, you can be flexible with if that works for you. It's not a quick weight loss plan though, so people should be aware of this.

Cycle 1 Veggie Plan - App user

Going to start this review by saying that I'm only a few days into cycle one so cannot comment on actual results. However, I am so impressed with the app so far that I've come on here to review it already.

I really like the flexibility - the fact you can pick and choose recipes and when to workout is really helpful for me as I work full time and am doing a part time masters degree so have to change my schedule week by week.

I'm also a bit fussy with certain ingredients but every meal I have tried so far has been amazing. I've made myself include ingredients that I would normally just miss out and I think that's important to ensure you are actually consuming enough.

The workouts are also great - I think Joe is very good at subtly encouraging you to work harder and this is mostly because he constantly reassures you and reminds you that you can slow down/stop if you need to.

I feel like the app has given me the motivation that I have been lacking for months!

Thank you to Joe and his team!!

Awesome - for those able to work for it!

The plan requires dedication, planning and is a long term life style - not a get thin quick plan as the majority of the negative reviews give here! Its truly an education into the right foods and when, how to exercise properly instead of hours in the gym and how to cook with quality ingredients.
I completed the 90 day plan back in 2017 and had amazing results with a 9 kilo weight loss and a total body transformation which I sustained for a long time until COVID laziness hit and I gained kilos eating bad and watching Netflix! The app was a christmas present which me and my partner started on Boxing Day. We are now ending cycle 2 and are in love with the app, the planner, the simplicity of it all, the delicious foods and most of all the results we have so far! I recommend to everyone looking for a long term change especially those willing to put the work in!

You have to stick with it

A lot of negative reviews on here recently, I can only assume that these people didn’t do their research before buying.
I am into cycle 3 of the plan. At the start I had good cardio fitness but my strength, especially in my upper body was not good. Only now in cycle 3 am I seeing and noticing how the plan has had an affect on my body. Do not expect miracles in the first week. This is hard work that you have to stick to and be disciplined with. I have mostly followed the meal plan but could have done better at weekends!
This plan has taught me much more than just how to lift weights. My view on food has definitely changed for the better, I am eating way less sugar than before and not snacking as much. Please be patient and commit to the plan if you want to see results, otherwise this is not for you!

Do the work!

I cannot believe the people giving bad reviews here. If you're willing to do the work on yourself, this plan is great! There are a wide range of recipes so you can plan your meals everyday and you've basically got a personal trainer at your disposal at all times. The app will track your progress; weight, measurements and photos if you wish. It's a complete plan for a healthy lifestyle and I'm loving it. Lost over 6kg in the first month.

It isn't going to be rapid weight loss and quick gains, its a sensible and sustainable approach to health and fitness. If anything, I'm finding it a real education on nutrition with balanced and filling meals.

I'd recommend it to anyone willing to put the work in for a healthy lifestyle, it isn't a magic solution, you get out what you put in!

Appalling Customer Service, No Results

I went into this journey fully committed to putting in the work and following the plan to a T and that is what I did. I exercised 5 times a week (giving it my all and challenging myself every time to do the harder version of the exercises), drank 3L of water a day, and ate according to the meal plan provided. By the end of cycle 1 I had never exercised so much and eaten healthily so consistently for so long in my life. So I was truly shocked when I saw I had only lost 1kg in one month. I raised my concerns with the “heroes” and they just dismissed them and said to trust the plan and that I was just in the beginning and the results would come. I was very disheartened at this point, but I kept going and trusted the process. By the end of cycle 2, another very disappointing result. Barely any change on the scales and what was more shocking, my muscle mass had gone down and my fat mass up. I couldn’t believe it, especially given all of the strength exercises I had been doing all month. I contacted the “heroes” again and not only did they reply several days later, but also had the audacity to make ridiculous accusations that my scales must be wrong. I asked for help, for an action plan, for something I could do differently to help improve my results, but no help was provided. Not only did they not resolve the problem or ever offered a single apologetic word, the lack of empathy and tact of these so called “heroes” was beyond shocking. 0 customer service. 0 care about their clients. 0 follow through. By the end of cycle 3, I submitted my once again very disappointing results after 3 months of hard work and once again I gave my feedback of how terrible the whole experience had been. They sent me my graduation certificate and not a single mention of the issues I had raised or any follow up from anyone was made. Truly dire.
Customer service aside, the plan is not good. The PDF format is a joke. So inconvenient and hard to read and access every day. They claim to make tailored plans for people and this is false advertisement. Literally everyone gets the same recipes, unless you select the vegetarian option. As stated above, if the plan doesn’t work for you as is, they don’t make any changes to it and just send you whatever they send everyone else.
On the meals themselves, cooking instructions are hard to follow and all over the place. Plus cooking times are way off on most of them.
On the exercises, they were okay, but clearly very targeted to males. Also, there was no accommodation for people with lower mobility and this became blatantly obvious to me when I started developing severe pain on both knees during cycle 2, something I had never experienced before. I was able to fix this with a supplement, but it gave me an insight as to what difficulties older people or people with reduced mobility would face with this “tailored” plan. Again, everyone gets the same videos. And one thing that was particularly infuriating in the workout videos was Joe constantly saying “There’s no way you won’t get results working like this.” when that was precisely what I was experiencing. No results, no ROI at all in regards to both money and time investment. Complete waste.
The bottom line for me is there are much better alternatives out there, so don’t waste your money or your time. This company doesn’t deserve your hard earned money purely on the level of service they provide let alone anything else.

Brilliant app and plan structure!

I thoroughly enjoy this app and the whole plan. The ‘planner’ part of the app is extremely useful to be able to schedule in your workouts, and to store you meal choices allowing you to shop smartly and can be done so pretty cheaply too. Yes there was a bit of an expense at the start for new cupboard items and yes it’s things that I wouldn’t normally have bought but they are common ingredients throughout the recipes. The recipes are great and it’s brilliant to try new things and I enjoyed googling the unfamiliar ingredients to see the health benefits and nutritional value. It’s good to try the new things and have a change to usual meals you get in to a rut with. I found cooking a little time consuming at first but now I get organised for the week ahead by batch cooking on a Sunday and then weekday meals just reheat. I see comments that cooking instructions are unclear, I completely disagree.
Of course the workouts are challenging and you need to be organised and have the commitment - if you want to see and feel results - you have to work for them and give the plan your commitment. I have seen massive changes in my well-being and also body image. I felt I had to write a review on this app because there are so many negative reviews and for people to know that some people genuinely enjoy this plan and app. Try it and find out! Just pay for one month to test the waters before paying the full year. Give it a go and see!!

Fantastic journey so far!

I’ve been on the plan for a month now after seeing Joe promote the app on instagram. I think it’s great, a real game changer, as they say. The food tastes awesome and the workouts are challenging. There’s 3 different levels to choose from. There’s not just 5 exercises as Joe also does several live workouts a week that you can view at any time or watch live if you fancy it. I’ve read a fair but of negativity on here and can only assume that those people haven’t put the time and energy into it that it requires. It’s hard work, and hard work achieves excellent results. It’s not meant to be easy. Personally I feel absolutely fantastic one month in. You don’t have to cook the exact meals. After a while you can tweak/adapt and create your own versions. It’s a tool to help you change and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I’m starting to see and feel the difference, both physically and mentally. The big results will appear after month 2 and 3. Don’t hesitate to sign up!

Complete waste of money

Complete waste of money. Completely unsustainable, so many ingredients for the food, yogurt in absolutely everything.

Only 5 workouts, for 4 weeks

Have to stick to the plan, very limited food choices, you would need a large freezer (and batch cook/freeze) so lots of tupperwear, a blender and a selection of weights so more costs

The food is hit and miss, but his recipe books are much better.

Had high hopes for this but wish I read the reviews.

After the first 4 weeks saw no difference to my body shape or weight despite sticking to the plan.

Avoid

I would not recommend this plan. It is not personalised at all and the recipes are not great.

Food shopping was ridiculously expensive and most of the recipes turned out to be inedible, total waste of money.

The workouts were repetitive! 5 workouts for 4 weeks....other apps have a whole variety of workouts to choose from. The plan gets very boring, repetitive and coupled with poor food choices that are expensive and a pain to make (I’ve never had so much washing up to do) I would steer clear of it.

Love this app and find it really easy…

Love this app and find it really easy to stick to. I’ve tried lots of different apps over the lockdowns and have often found most of them too challenging to the point it’s difficult to finish the workouts. Though the workouts in this app are challenging and really work you hard, I find the workouts so much better and easier to finish for my body. Some great ideas for meals on the app too. I don’t necessarily stick to the exact meals but use them for inspiration and have still seen a huge difference in my body after just one month. Has really motivated me! Can see other reviews that say buying new foods etc. Is not ideal but ultimately it has got to be a lifestyle change to see results so that is to be expected.

This plan is hard work but it’s working well so far 😃

I am 56 years old & put on 10kg last year during COVID-19 pandemic. Am now on week 2 of Body Coach App following Pescatarian Meal Plan.
Pros:
Have tried some delicious meals, some that I would serve at a dinner party, & every day look forward to what is to eat.(Top meal/snack tips: Salmon & Asparagus pasta, Trail Mix, Halloumi burger)
I lost 2kg in the first week 😃 & feel more energetic, & dare I say it, younger.
There is plenty to eat.
Overall it seems to be working & I’m enjoying it.
Cons:
It is hard work and time consuming, especially to start with, a lot of shopping, & cooking - but maybe this is why I can stick to it. After putting in all that work I am determined not to mess up.
Some of the meals (a small minority) are hard going although edible (but when didn’t I try a whole lot of new recipes and find I didn’t like some).
I pushed myself a bit to hard on some of the exercises & developed a couple of muscle twinges. (I am still sticking to the plan but adapting any exercises that work those muscles & just working them very gently).
Buying the food can be expensive.

So I would say:
Be prepared to work hard shopping & cooking at the beginning. Do some batch food preparation/ cooking. It helps that I have a freezer.

Realise that eating this way is going to be fairly costly (but then there’s no gym membership/personal trainer/bus fare to the gym involved, no take outs no meals out & no alcohol, so think overall in terms of cost).

Stick to the plan but don’t be too rigid about sticking to ingredients, particularly with the fruit veg & the spices or sauces, just use up what you’ve got. If you don’t like something or can’t eat something or if something is too expensive swap in something else that is nutritionally similar.

Find the meals you like & eat those often, there are plenty of recipes. Batch cook things you like that will keep.

Absolute Rubbish

I loved the Joe Wicks workouts and decided to give the app a try as I need to lose weight desperately.

Stupidly paid my full year and was looking forward to it, am going to cancel after having it 2 weeks because I haven’t started it as I keep looking at the recipes and they have completely turned me off. There are ingredients that I never buy so it’s going to cost a fortune and will go to waste if the food is inedible like some reviews have suggested on here. There are receipes I would never eat as I am allergic to soy and rice but I can’t swap them out for any others so some of these I would have to eat 3/4 times a week. I am not a fan of protein powder but it’s in everything. The instructions on the recipes are poor so for chicken tikka wrap is the chicken raw or pre cooked, putting raw chicken the grill for 7 mins is not going to cook it through so very dangerous.

Don’t bother with this, just stick to workouts Joe, you are a master at that and love you for them.

Am so depressed now as I thought that this would be easy to do and for the first time ever be something I could do to really lose weight.

Not personalised

I paid for the plan a while before lockdown. As did a mate at work (not known to me at the time).. we are very different body types and different goals. We both received the same PDF with same recipes and portion sizes (even though we are very different people). All they do is change the name on the pdf.

I emailed support got no reply, I asked for a refund and had a rude response saying no. Saying it was taylored to me but not personalised and this was never promised.

I bought all the books and DVDs, and then got suckered into an expensive rip off PDF. What a waste of money. Some people are getting very rich from this.

Save your money. Don’t buy this

Measurements are not mine - and no response from support team

I joined the plan on 29th December and noticed that my measurements under stats were prefilled with some else's measurements. I raised a support ticket on 31st December highlighting this issue and got a response on 2nd Jan saying it was a glitch in the app and to send over the stats. I sent them over and since then have had no response to a further 3 support tickets and my measurements have not been updated. It is supposed to reflect my progress so how can i do that with someone else's measurements. There is no other way to contact them -i feel very let down.

I wish I read the trust pilot reviews…

I wish I read the trust pilot reviews before bought the plan. Another overrated celebrity . You preaty much get a pdf with 5 workouts and very generic meal plan that it’s not really tailored to you at all. For vegetarian plan it’s very limited aswell. I told about my resent injury - no adjustments were made . The support takes 2 days to come back. Don’t bother , you can find much more on YouTube .
