A fun and truly member centred experience!

I have now been a member of this choir for a year and I absolutely love it. The leaders are enthusiastic and friendly and really focus on making enjoyment part of the learning process so you don't feel like you are at school or like you can't make a mistake. They seem to recognise that the more relaxed you are, the better you learn. I can't read music and am pretty musically inept in general but I do love to sing and am always singing along to the radio. This is a similar process in that you, in effect, sing along to a leader who breaks down the song into chunks and sings your harmony part to you bit by bit and then with you until you've got it or sing along to the recordings that you get given through the website resources to help your learning. It always seems to surprise me when we put it all together and the sound is brilliant from what felt like a simple process. It feels really inclusive and member centred and genuinely "community". The songs are all chosen from a box of members' song suggestions so we all feel that we have an imput. The choir now is different to when I joined because when members make suggestions they genuinely listen to the members and make assessments on whether the changes can be made and are viable and, if they are, they make the changes - the best part of this is that they are changes that are not necesary but wanted and they have still accomodated wants rather than needs. We have done a lot of fundraising for charities both for national charities and local ones We take part in a lot of performance opportunities so we have plenty of purpose to the learning, I really can't fault this choir and would recommend it to anyone. It would be enjoyable and if there is anything not quite right or that you don't quite understand they work quickly to resolve it and help you with whatever it is. Great customer service, great sessions and great opporunities to use the songs you've learnt. There is also a great culture for socialising with fellow members which is very supported by the leaders and they really encourage us to make new friends and do things together away from choir which also add to us feeling like we are a team. I feel like I will be a member of this choir for a very long time to come yet,
