Our History
The Fat Butcher is the brainchild of our founder Mark, a butcher with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Starting as an apprentice butcher in the Dewhurst’s Butchers of Leeds, Mark quickly climbed his way up the ranks before finding himself in a Microbiology training program in Northampton. It was here that he truly got to know meat on a deeper, more scientific level.
After leaving Dewhurst’s, Mark ran the gamut in the retail butchery industry, with positions in traditional butchers, supermarket operations, and town centre market stalls. After years of working in the physical sector, Mark considered that maybe there was a better way.
That’s when The Fat Butcher was born, conceived as an online butchers and meat delivery service that would allow customers to receive personalised and pre-prepared meat boxes straight to their door. No more chancing it on what the butcher had in. No more walking home with heavy bags of meat. Just premium, top-quality cuts of meat delivered straight to your door.

I have been following a carnivore diet…
I have been following a carnivore diet for almost two years, the steaks I ordered are fairly tasteless I believe they are crappy grain fed probably Australian they also seem to have a large amount of liquid in the bag , probably from being injected with water and other crap , as for the chicken is concerned I have never come across a product with so much water/slime injected into it, your products are digesting , even my dog , who’s not at all fussy turned her nose up at your raw steak , you should not be able to sell this to the public.

All ice packs had melted so the meat…
All ice packs had melted so the meat was actually warm to touch, the pork had gone a strange colour all the liquid in the meat packaging had leaked everywhere and I’m still waiting to get this resolved a week later.

Disappointed in delivery and packaging
This was my second order as I was so pleased with the first. However the delivery was poor. Due to the heat I was working literally next to the front door. The driver didn't attempt to knock or ring the bell and left the package on the front door step in nearly 30 degree heat and in full sight of passers by. In terms of the parcel, all the steaks arrived packaged together which meant I had to open and put into seperate packaging to freeze - the only reason I'd placed the original order was because they were all packaged seperate and I didn't need to handle the meat or be worried about how they'd be stored

Great customer service
The delivery was a late evening delivery which meant the food had spoilt (not The Fat Butchers fault) which was purely down to the courier company used for this specific delivery and them adding it towards the end of the drivers route. After emailing TheFatButcher directly they were extremely speedy with a response and organising of a redelivery for the whole order. Highly recommend for the customer service and the quality of meat on previous orders.
