Can't recommend
I don’t leave negative reviews lightly. In fact, if you look at my Google review history, you’ll see I’ve never given less than 5 stars – which makes this all the more disappointing. I feel compelled to write this only because my messages are now being ignored entirely, which is simply unacceptable.
I am hugely dissatisfied with both the quality of the flooring installation and the service received from The Flooring Centre. The total cost was £4,200 – a considerable amount – and what I’ve been left with falls far short of a professional standard.
From the outset, I had concerns. The floor didn’t feel securely or evenly laid, but I was reassured this was nothing to worry about. When I later raised the issue of movement in the flooring, I was told this was ‘normal’. However, I now feel those concerns were simply dismissed.
While I cannot confirm this with certainty, I believe the installation may have been subcontracted to two gentlemen who did not appear to be specialists. I regret not trusting my intuition at the time – they spent as much time on their phones as they did preparing the subfloor and fitting the product. In hindsight, this lack of professionalism was a red flag I wish I had acted on.
I've since submitted images and video (sorry I can't upload the video showing just how much the tiles are raising up and down here) the company’s request – which clearly show poor workmanship, possibly incorrectly fitted tiles, and, most concerning of all, unsafe finishing. My daughter has already cut her toe on a loose edge, which is entirely unacceptable in any home, let alone after a professional job. And yet, since sending this evidence, all communication has ceased. That silence speaks volumes.
I can only assume The Flooring Centre has no adequate response, because the images speak for themselves. I am extremely disappointed and feel let down both as a customer and as someone who placed trust in this business.
As things stand, I cannot recommend The Flooring Centre and will be advising friends and family to avoid using them.
