It's useful to have it on you all the time, you never know when you might need to find a great place to eat. It is weird getting used to an app based guide, as previously I could mark up the book with upcoming trips and places that I wanted to go. Overall I think the team have done a great job, it looks good, I haven't used it that often to see if there are any recurring bugs or glitches.

Agree with numerous other comments - not perfect but getting there quickly and the best there is on the market (so much better than Tripadvisor)

The Good Food Guide is becoming the place to go when you want to find the places where local people go to find great value food. They have more work to do to expand the coverage, but their independent, carefull considered and reliable advice is invaluable 👍🎯

The Guide is getting there. The app is now working well. And the national coverage is improving by the week.

I have been a buyer of the GFG since the 1970s. As restaurateurs from 1978 to 1986, my wife and I appeared in the GFG between 1979 and 1986. It meant a lot to us. I am of an age where I would prefer the GFG to be a book, but, I am beginning to get used to it in digital form. The GFG has always been so well written that, in book form, one could pick it up and have an enjoyable read, even though one had no plans to go out to eat. The online version cannot match that, but, if the standards applied to restaurants remain the same and the quality of writing remains the same, the online GFG will continue to be valuable.

The most reliable and best written reviews in the UK

I have been a long time user of this unbiased and generally accurate guide to the best places to eat in the UK. The introduction of guides to local areas in the UK and abroad had been very welcome. The ability to generally avoid a bad meal outweighs the cost of the guide.

Clearly still building! Wide areas not covered (Portsmouth/Southampton, possibly as there is nothing worth assessing . I find locating places in London difficult to find. Near Kings Cross yielded ‘Pic’ in the Old Custom House. An admirable restaurant but not near Kings Cross!

Long time subscriber in its various formats it is now getting well into its stride in its app/online version with better coverage across the UK restaurant scene.

Super accurate reviews that truly reflect the restaurants featured. I have found so many great restaurants using the guide. Please keep it going.

The new GFG is finally proving its worth. It has taken a long time to build a database of new and interesting venues. There are still large gaps geographically and glaring omissions. But it getting there.

Far and away the best guide to good food - not necessarily posh food or places, although the good ones will be in there - good food, worth going out for.

By making the guide 'by subscription only' you have effectively locked out those of us who live abroad and used to buy the book when visiting the UK. The cost of paying for a subscription and then only using the guide on our annual UK visit is a bit prohibitive. We will sadly miss not being able to buy the book again - and you will lose all the proceeds you used to get from foreign tourists.
