Great service!

I was a little sceptical about using this service, but I couldn’t be happier I used them!
You are given a quote based on pictures you send. Once you have confirmed you are happy, they confirm collection via DHL (all you need to do is attach the labels). Then the bag was fixed and restored within a couple of weeks and delivered back via DHL.
All marks and scuffs on my cream leather bag were fixed. Very happy with the service!
Price - in my view, it is expensive BUT do you get what you pay for which is a great service!
I would recommend and use again!

Fantastic service!

I would absolutely recommend Bag Spa. They have just fixed, cleaned and polished my beloved Ferragamo bag and my Alexander McQueen shoes, for which I had almost abandoned hope until I went to them. I am so pleased with the results!! The level of service from day one and throughout has been great, they are very professional, and the end result is really excellent. It was all very efficient and highly organised, I emailed them photos, they gave me a quote, my bag/shoes were picked up by courier really quickly, they did the work to an extremely high standard and sent it back within a very reasonable time frame given the work involved, and all at such reasonable cost. What’s not to like?! I will definitely be going back to them soon with other renovation projects.

I so regret sending my Mulberry purse…

I so regret sending my Mulberry purse to this company. Came back with dye on the fabric interior and on the metal fixing. The pink colour they used did not match the original and makes the purse look like a cheap fake now.

In response it was The Handbag Spa...

I am very sorry to hear you are not happy with your purse. I can clearly see the colour difference there and we would like the opportunity to put this right for you. Would you be willing to send it back in?

I would recommend the handbag spa to…

I would recommend the handbag spa to anyone who needs their old bags bringing back to life. I sent my balenciaga city bag to get dyed black and it returned looking like a totally new bag, it was incredible! The customer service is excellent and the turn around for my bag was 2 weeks. I cannot fault this company and the service they provide. You’ve done a wonderful job THBS - thank you so much!

Over promise under deliver

They are not up to the job. Send your bag at your own risk. 6 month guarantee for a job that can cost £200+ so what happens when something goes wrong? you keep sending your bag back and forth until you can't be bothered anymore? that way they can say, we kept our side of the deal but you don't have what you paid for - pretty rubbish! HBS - cut your losses, you ruin a bag? stop trying to put it right and just give the client their money back or risk even more bad reviews!

Hi, good of you to get back. I was delighted with the bag and the colour when I first received it from you the first time and said so. It was a grand job BUT within the first week and after the very first use I was really disappointed to find the dye was peeling off. Also it's pretty disingenuous of you to suggest that it was just the handles that were peeling due to hand sanitisers. For a start I carry the bag in the crook of my arm and the dye was peeling elsewhere too, all over the bag in patches, where the handles meet the bag is a case in point. After you 'put it right' I used the bag three times and again have the same issues, interestingly the handles have fared much better this time but patches of colour have peeled off elsewhere.
Moreover, I did send some pictures a few weeks back and have heard nothing so assume you haven't seen the email. Sending emails and photos and having to follow-up for a response has partly prompted my actions and this review. I paid for a service, it wasn't satisfactory, I sent the bag back, it was returned and it's still not satisfactory and quite frankly I don't see much point sending the bag back and forth indefinitely. My bag has already spent 6 months with you (5 months Covid, 1 month due to my being overseas) and approximately 10 days with me where I have actually used it.

I would like to address a point you have raised though, you are correct I haven't discussed a refund but I don't see any other solution to what has been a wholly frustrating and disappointing experience.

Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you feel so upset by this and we are doing all we can to help resolve the situation for you. We were waiting for you to return from your holiday so that we could arrange to carry out the work for you.

The handbag was colour changed very successfully as requested.
Unfortunately when the handbag was returned to us we discovered that the problem of peeling on the handles had been caused by hand sanitisers.
Hand Sanitisers are causing a great deal of damage at the moment due to the high alcohol content in most of them. We did explain this to you and advised on how to take care of your handles going forward when the handbag was returned to you.

We have asked for up to date photos of the handbag so that we can see whether this is the same problem as before but as yet have not received these.

We have offered to take your handbag in to carry out the work again for you free of charge. There has been no discussion with us regarding repayment.

The handbag has not been ruined and the problem can easily be resolved.

Quality Service. Highly recommended

We sent herthe photos and she said was possible to recolour. Collection - delivery was smooth and they did a fantastic job and restored the original colour. And they did that within a short space of time well enough to suit our need. Overall brilliant customer service and quality outcome. They deserve the highest rating available. I am utterly disgusted with the repair…

I am utterly disgusted with the repair on my bag .....new zip doesn’t even close properly and the sticking a child could of done a better job ......I also find the recent reviews strange as I put my bag in before lockdown and was told repeatedly that the workshops were closed so no repairs etc were possible .....then after several emails my bag was suddenly ready .....wish I hadn’t sent to them 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

As explained in detail to you, replacing a zip in a damaged backpack is very hard to do by machine due to the construction of the bag unless the bag is taken apart which we do not do, so on this occasion it had to be replaced by hand. The zip was replaced with a white zip to match what would have been originally in the bag but would not now match the other zip as the bag was so dirty and in poor condition causing the older zip to appear grey and discoloured.
We did offer you a clean and restoration process along with the zip replacement but this was declined. The zip works perfectly well and has made your backpack usable again which it was not when it was sent to us.
Our workshops were indeed closed during lockdown and our restoration work began again when our staff were able to return to work. Our repair work was the last section to begin work again and priority was given to those bags that were with us when we went in to lockdown. We, like everyone have been limited with our services due to keeping our staff safe and taking staff back to work as they have become available due to their own family situations.
The latest reviews are from our many very happy customers who have sent us bags since we reopened.
You have omitted to say that we agreed and have refunded 50% of your money paid as we hate to have disappointed customers.

Great service. Brilliant result!!

Amazed at the finished result of my Mulberry handbag! Leather was very faded but was beautifully restored to its original image. No complaints on the service I received. Estimated time frame was accurate. Well packaged. Good value for money. It was worth every penny. Highly recommend!!

Superb service from start to finish

I was given my Mum’s old Chanel bag which she bought in the early eighties, about 10 years ago, and have been unable to get any use out of it due to the maroon lining deteriorating and become sticky (a common fault with bags from this era). Having decided to finally do something about it I came across the Handbag Spa who had pictures up of precisely the same problem which gave me the incentive to have my bag sent away for them to fix it. At all times, the customer service was incredibly prompt, friendly and informative. I was made fully aware that the only way to rectify the issue would be to strip away the red lining revealing the leather underneath, which I agreed to. After a quicker than expected turnaround, I got my beloved bag back this week and I am so impressed with the care with which it was treated. It was already in ok condition, however, it now looks brand new and my mum wants it back!
Super impressed with the way I was communicated with throughout, and even more impressed with the end result! Thank you!

Great Restoration Job

The Handbag Spa did a great job to restoring my 21 yo leather bag substantially to its former glory. The color has been restored, the scratches removed and the bag was thoroughly cleaned. The inner liner was restitched and the bag looks like it's had a new lease on life. I use the bag everyday and have for all its life. It's held up well as it was a high quality bag in the first place. With this restoration, it will be good for another 20 plus years of use.

Off life support machine and out of intensive care!

My bag has been completely resuscitated
I got the same feeling I did when I received it newly.
New colour new bag. It’s given it a new lease of life! I’m no longer scared for the others now.

And the price to pay whilst it’s not cheap it’s worth it for the investment and compared to the prices of these designer bags.

Customer services were in touch every step of the way.
I definitely would use them again and recommend you do too!

Wow wow wow

Wow wow wow. I could just write Wow for ever. I’m in love all over again. When I originally bought my Anya Hindmarch satchel I deliberated for weeks as it was a lot of money ( for me) for a bag. It was a grey colour and soon began to look tattered and as if the colour was lifting. That’s when my superheroes came into play. I contacted the handbag spa with photos and they suggested a colour change to black or navy. I went for black. The bag had 2 straps with it too. The anticipation of getting the bag back was like it bring Christmas again. The bag looks as good as new. I could not be more delighted. Wonderful service, wonderful customer service and I cannot recommend them enough. Money very well spent as I can now use my bag with pride. Go for it you won’t be disappointed.
