Great overall experience, hassle free discussion and straightforward appointments
TWM are a million miles ahead of others in terms of supporting customers and being available, not like other lenders where you have to wait for weeks for initial appointment and then weeks for applications
Tilly Lovegrove supported me with the application, she has a very good approach of making the application feel easy and taking the stress out of the complicated process.

Pretty good. The only frustrating thing is when you have multiple applications at the same time it’s very difficult to get the system to accept downloaded files and documents to each application when it’s the same document for each application. This is causing delays.

It was a really straight forward process to apply for a buy to let mortgage with the Mortgage Works. My consultant Beth Carter was easy to work with and kept me up to date at each stage. It only took a few weeks to get my mortgage offer through from my first appointment.

Out of all the lenders on the market I feel TMW is the most efficient and easy to use. And also they have very competitive prices which makes overall experience great.
Stephanie and Ben both made it very pleasant venture too! Thanx

SHOCKING
have used them before for BTL mortgages and asked them to fund a BTL purchase.
After survey (which I paid for!) they advised they could not lend on the property as the Purchase price agreed was below their valuation... Yes you read correctly. they refused to lend as the price I had agreed with seller, via estate agent, was less than the Mortage works/Nationwide consider the property is worth
I challenged this to be told it was their policy. When asked for their policy I was told they would not provide it
Seems Nationwide is participating in price fixing or trying to control a free market economy. Surely if a seller and buyer, who have no prior connection and did all negotiations via an estate agent, agree a price, that price is acceptable. Why does nationwide think it knows better. If their valuation was less than the agreed price, I could understand it, but it wasn't!!! it was more!
Shoddy service, trying to price control and preventing free market operation.

TMW/Nationwide have replied with some useless "o we care" but no explanation other than hiding behind an unknown policy! What happened to honesty and transparency? How can a mortgage company be allowed to control market pricing?
This is a silly situation! If the property was worth less, fine but it was apparently worth more! Can someone in TMW/Nationwide please clearly explain to me the logic and policy on why you will not lend if the purchase price is less than the market value and why you think you can control the buyer-seller relationship?

straight forward mortgage application, and an quick mortgage offer received. A variety of fee options with choices of free valuations, although your rates do increase with the offers of free valuations so indirectly you pay, but its your choice. The bonus is you don't pay mortgage advisor fees which are upwards of £400, but you need to know what you want with regards rates, arrangement fees and term. All in all one of the easiest mortgage companies to deal with with some excellent offers.

Misadvised repeatedly over mortgage terms.
Late advice of fixed period ending.
Delayed migration to new product because of the above.
Complaint takes weeks to gain response to.
Complaint upheld and then compensatory interest rebate withdrawn!
I would expect the Nationwide to be a lot better than this.
