I had a terrible experience with…

I had a terrible experience with Trainline. My train connection was cancelled by Deutsche Bahn the night before my trip, which legally entitles me to a refund. Instead of helping, Trainline immediately pushed all responsibility away and refused to assist, even though they were the ones who took my money. Their customer service was dismissive, unhelpful, and completely uninterested in resolving the issue. I even paid for additional insurance, which turned out to be useless. I will avoid Trainline in the future — they offer zero support when something actually goes wrong.

I only used the service once.

I only used the service once.
1. The seats are too small.
2. The seats are too hard.
3. The seats in front are too close.
4. No circulation of air.
5. Bloody horrendous heat.

I travelled from Plymouth to Bristol.
I expected thd train to take the strain.
In reality it was a pain especially in my lower back.

Holiday trip to Folkestone

Was kept informed throughout. For instance, on the outward journey the train was running 15 mins late and this was communicated so could relax at Charing Cross STation and was able to fit in a coffee before departure. Coming back was reminded the day before of the next day's departure. On the day itself,
with the time of departure on my screen face, made preps for return easy, Couldn't fault service.

Don’t use Trainline

Oh dear . Don’t use Trainline. A month after my initial complaint Trainline responded to my TP review , please read they posted what can be best described as justification of my position. But they flatly refused my request for refund . Please stay away from them especially in Europe. They will leave you stranded, don’t be fooled by the price reduction, stick with the carrier if something goes wrong ( cancelled and rescheduled in my case) Trainline will do nothing. The Trainline WhatsApp service is terrible, obstructive and abusive. Stay well away from.

Trainline is just a joke

I purchased train tickets through Trainline and also paid for additional insurance because I believed it would make the refund process easier if something went wrong.

My train was cancelled due to a strike. When I contacted Trainline for assistance, I received mostly template responses that did not answer my questions. I was repeatedly redirected elsewhere despite having purchased both the tickets and insurance through Trainline.

After several attempts to get help, I requested that my case be escalated to a supervisor. I was told that I would be contacted within 48–72 hours. That deadline passed, and nobody contacted me.

The most frustrating part is not the cancellation itself, but the lack of customer support and accountability afterward. If Trainline sells insurance and positions itself as a convenient booking platform, customers should be able to expect meaningful assistance when problems occur.

Very disappointing experience.
