We loved everything and most highly recommend The Travel Cafe😄! Hanjia put together an amazing itinerary tailored to our interests, made all the arrangements and stopped by our hotel on day one to make sure everything was as we had planned. It felt like she was with us at every step in our journey. Day trips from Cape Town for whale watching, wine tasting and exploring the Cape were great. Our stays at both Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp and Kings Camp were both outstanding for game drives and gourmet dining. We saw more and different animals than we had hoped. The Kings Warren Hide at King’s Camp was fantastic for photography and close observation of animals from elephants and hippos to dragonflies and turtles! Travel Cafe has got it locked in! We will certainly recommend Travel Cafe to any of our friends or relatives considering an Africa trip.

Everything was perfect, from the first appointment untill we landed back in South Africa. We got a personalised booklet, an app that had everything on it and a very special pink bottle and beautiful bag!

I would recommend the boutique travel agency Travelcafé. We went for a self driving circular tour in early September 2024 starting from Cape town. The travel was a great mix of what we were exactly looking for and also attention to the pace in the travel, in terms of distances or load in the program, so one would not feel overrushed and could experience and relax one self, a discreet team in the background present in case of need before, during and after. We were not crying the last day of the travel before heading to the airport, as this last day was still dotted with plenty of marvelous sites/experiences along the Garden Wine Route. We have enjoyed every minute of the travel program and suggestions.

We had 10 of the most magical days touring Namibia courtesy of The Travel Cafe! It was quite simply an incredible experience; the tour route and accommodations were wonderful as was all the guidance and help we received from the brilliant team! Thank you so much for making our Namibia dream trip come true!

This trip was a dream come true! From the moment I saw the itinerary, I knew I had to go and take my sister with me. The planning and getting there was seamless, with the help of JD and The Travel Cafe Cape Town. We really appreciated the Zoom calls prior to our trip to get more details and have questions answered.
It was all amazing but the biggest surprise for me was how much I loved Cape Town. What a beautiful, clean, friendly, metropolitan city. There was so much to see and do, without spending hours on a bus. The small group is the way to go. Such a personalized, attentive feeling you get at every destination!
Timbivati was amazing but different than what I thought it was going to be like. Honestly I thought there would be more wildlife and not so hard to get a sighting. But it was kind of like going on a hunt! The landscape was breathtaking, at sunrise and sunset. Not having a whole bunch of other vehicles, competing for space and sightings was also great. Definitely a more private experience. We loved the stops to chat, eat, and drink midway through the drive. It was such a special, luxury camp, and the setting, food, ambiance and people were fantastic.
Truly a boutique five star experience, in the middle of the bush!
Victoria Falls, the Royal Livingstone Hotel and steam train dinner just capped off a perfect trip. Everyday we said, “oh it can’t get much better than this” but it always did. There were surprises around every corner.
Our trip was EPIC. We truly felt like family by the end and were happy to meet and spend time and experiences with Francois and your mom and dad. For Kathy and I, family is EVERYTHING so it was great to feel like we fit right in with yours ❤️. We loved having a personal, professional photographer too!!! So many great pictures to cherish and remind us how blessed we were to experience Africa, on an authentic adventure that will remain embedded in our hearts. Thank you.

Highly recommend choosing The Travel Café for your trip! The personal attention, eye for detail and the great hidden gems that they know made our trip to Namibia complete! It was the most amazing trip and we loved it!! From cozy b&bs, to beautiful safari lodges and great activities and taking care of arranging the rest of the travel. You can simply get on a plane and not worry about anything, because they took care of it before you thought about it.

We had literally the best experience after working together with the Travel Cafe! They were so helpful and professional and together we created the perfect itinerary for our trip through South Africa and Namibia. Their expertise and genuine passion Africa showed through our conversations and that is definitely what resulted in the unforgettable trip we made. Throughout the whole trip we were worry free and didn't encounter any unexpected circumstances which was ideal. Would recommend for a trip through Africa!

I cannot recommend The Travel Cafe enough. JD and his team planned a trip I will remember for the rest of my life. We traveled to South Africa for a friends wedding, so we spent some time in Cape Town, Franschhoek (wine country), and then to Kruger for a Safari. All of the accommodations were absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations. JD and his team were super helpful with restaurant recs and reservations throughout the entire trip. They even helped fetch my husband’s bag when it got left in a transport vehicle. I can’t say enough great things about them. We will def be back to Africa and we will be using them!

We have just returned to the UK after the most fantastic holiday in the western Cape organised by JD. We stayed in some utterly amazing hotels, ate in some fabulous restaurants and did some amazing excursions all organised by this very knowledgeable and friendly South African 😁. The Travel Cafe is simply amazing. Our wedding planner introduced us to JD in 2019 when we initially started to plan our wedding. She recommended that we let the Travel Cafe handle accommodation arrangements at our wedding venue, especially for the guests coming from overseas - and we are immensely happy that we did! After we sent out our wedding invites, the Travel Cafe received an avalanche of emails for booking requests. They handled everything so professionally, dealt with millions of questions, as well as payments. It really took a lot of work off our shoulders. Then Covid happened and we had to postpone our wedding date. A very special thanks goes to how they communicated with the guests and handled all the Covid chaos, changes, questions, and refunds.
They even helped with finding accommodation for my grandparents who came all the way from Germany to attend the wedding. They were staying in Camps Bay and the Travel Cafe went above and beyond to find a guest house with a German speaking host and a house that could accommodate my grandpa’s disability. This particular accommodation exceeded everyone’s expectations and left everyone impressed.
On our wedding day, JD was there to welcome everyone, help with the check-in process, and we even got little gifts and flowers.
I could go on about all they did to make sure everyone had the BEST time during their stay in South Africa - if you are ever looking for someone to help you plan a holiday / activities / accommodation bookings / recommendations, the Travel Cafe are simply the best. They are passionate, professional, personal and dedicated to making sure you have the very best time.

We just returned from the most wonderful one week minimoon Timbavati Game Reserve that JD and Valina put together for us. I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip of a lifetime, and JD exceeded our expectations on what this could be. We are avid travelers and have done several trips independently, but this goes down in our books as a major highlight because of the care, attention to detail and patience the Travel Cafe team provided. JD listened to our wish lists, stayed within our budget, prioritized both of our preferences and throughout the process, did not try to upsell us on anything. They are very patient as we made several last minute changes to our itinerary and were available to assist with extending our trip because we were loving it so much. They have a way of making you feel like you are their only concern and it's really nice to have that personalized support.... a glimpse of what celebrity life is like in an affordable manner :-) We plan to use The Travel Cafe for our future trips and will be recommending them for all of our wedding guests, many of whom will be coming to SA for their first time. François and JD organised our romantic trip to the Kruger for us and everything was perfect. They were very quick to suggest a list of different options for us, matching our needs and budget. They took care of all the admin and details and we didn't have to worry about a thing! I've never been so at ease about a holiday, as I usually take care of everything myself.
