The food is good
The food is good, fresh, feels healthy. My major concern is the calories, especially if you add the sauces that they include ( which really add to the taste). The sauces alone can be over 200 calories. And some of the meals are over 600.And the sauces are usually "2 servings", but really the serving is good for the one meal itself. And sometimes the meals taste a bit alike. Otherwise, they're pretty yummy.

Exactly What I Want
The food is exactly what I want: planned by nutritionists, FRESH, and tasty. I tried other home delivery meal services, but Thistle is the best I've found for salads and plant-based food. Did I mention everything is FRESH? It must be delivered shortly after preparation.
I know the company is ten years old and still growing. The service is mostly good, although there are occasional mistakes in our order. Eating Thistle meals makes me feel good about my health!

After having been through several food delivery companies and being unable to find anyone that had good alternatives for vegan/lactose intolerant -- Thistle was my last try -- and you've knocked it out of the park. The food is outstanding and finally I don't have to worry about getting food I either don't like or can't eat.

Good healthy food
Delivery is prompt, preparation is good. I do feel healthier when eating more plant based food.
Variety has improved over the years, but could still be a little better. Some of the dishes for plant based options taste almost same and could lead to fatigue.

Food is fine; deliveries are quite late
The food is pretty good but their delivery windows aren’t accurate. I’ve had three deliveries so far. They say the delivery is 7-10pm. One was almost two hours outside the delivery window, arriving at 11:45pm!! I am not a night owl. I thought it might have been because of bad weather, but the third delivery was almost an hour outside the window, arriving 11:20pm. Cancelling for sure. I’m not into staying up late just to get my food delivery. Aren’t these services meant to make things easier?

Food was never delivered, I was charged anyway, I'm still fighting to get my money back.
The food looked great and healthy, but their delivery and support is truly awful. They didn't deliver my food twice, the first two orders, but still charged me for it. They don't have phone support so you have to wait for them to email you which will take a couple of days. Major buyers regret. I started with them on July 7th, and still haven't been credited for their lack of delivery. AVOID. VERY POORLY RUN COMPANY.

We began ordering from Thistle about a month ago. The food is excellent as is the administration behind the scenes.
We missed customizing our order on time last night so I reached out to see if there was anything we could do. Within an hour I had a response from Janeth with instructions about how to modify our orders. When I submitted my edits, they were processed quickly with all the right adjustments made to both our menus and billing.
I so appreciated the timely reply and the quick handling that the order was given. It’s so refreshing to receive such wonderful customer service! Janeth and Thistle have been a delight to do business with as they approach every aspect of their service with integrity and professionalism. Thank you!

Nutrition and Convenience
I’ve done a few meal plans. EveryPlate. Freshly (before they went out of business). Hello Fresh.
Of all the meal plans, this is my favorite. One - it genuinely seems the healthiest. Two - it’s surprisingly tasty! I was pretty skeptical of some of the dish names, but I haven’t had one I haven’t liked yet!
It’s a bit pricey, but if you want nutrition and convenience- you definitely have to give it a shot.
Extra bonus for the thistle zipper bags compared to the bulky cardboard boxes that were always such a pain! Leave amount of waste I’ve seen in a meal plan so far!

Great food… if they actually deliver it!
The food is actually delicious but the delivery company they use are unprofessional. Multiple instances they never deliver it or most recently they delivered a bag completely open with food spilled everywhere! Another instance, they verbally threatened my doorman. I’ve emailed the company many times, and they keep claiming they’ve credited my account or refunded me (which never happened) It’s time I move on.

Gross food
Gross food. Overpriced. Everything tasted sharp as if it was about to go bad or already was. Vegetables went bad almost immediately. I was scared to eat the food. The food that wasn’t borderline out of date was weird tasting anyway. How many times can you eat the same tasting bland salad that has been strangely stir fried? Tasteless. Boring. Waste of money.

Extremely delicious and actually effective at returning digestive health.
The meals and snacks are incredibly good. Appreciate that they’re not overly salted. Groceries had risen in price so much that subscribing to a meal plan for at least my child, that included just breakfast, dinner and a snack was similar in cost, give or take, sometimes less. My post Covid child experienced minimal stomach pain with these, and probably would’ve had none if they had kept away from school lunches and a few other instances of highly processed foods during their subscription.

Our menus currently honor the American Heart Association's 2,300 milligram sodium limit spread across a 3-meal day; this means that breakfast, lunch and dinner on any given day will provide less than the 2,300mg recommendation restriction. The editing/meal swapping tools are often useful in tailoring meals to specific dietary needs like this. Thistle does not currently offer a lower sodium option; our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Good Based Food in Terrible Plastic Containers
The plastic the food comes in isn't able to be recycled. The smoothies are very small and very expensive and the plant based dinners are few. Not a lot to choose from. And it is very expensive. I like the drop off times and the soft case. the food itself is very good.

As part of our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint, we’ve made switching to more sustainable packaging a major goal for our company. We want to ensure that these containers would meet our strict Quality Assurance (QA) standards prior to incorporating them into regular deliveries, and make sure there's a high return rate.
We are pursuing parallel paths — (1) shorter term, making our current containers more sustainable by ensuring they are comprised of 100% recycled material/no virgin plastic; we’ve been working with a few vendors and actually just sent out 100% PCR containers to customers as part of a larger scale test recently; and (2) we’re continuing to work with our partner Dispatch Goods on reusable containers: we are expecting to receive their new reusable containers very soon for internal testing, and are excited to see how these perform and scale testing pending those results.
