The movement to my new apartment went very well, without complications. Very professional, friendly, arrived right in time and everything went quick and smooth.

I came across Thor Logistics via downtown.dk and went online to the Thor Logistic's website where they have an online system for you to book your moving time. I received an email notification with my booking day, but no specific time. I called the company a couple of days later to confirm the time and was told that they could not find my booking information anywhere. The manager, Dan then offered me a time slot for Friday as I initially wanted, just later in the day after work.

The movers were about an hour late after being held up on a previous job. I was told that they would call if they were running late, which they did. When the two moving men did arrive, they were fast, friendly and efficient.

Once they had collected all my things from the apartment and from the basement they then asked me if anyone had told me that any bookings after 5 pm cost an additional 350kr and that payment needed to be made in cash? I told them that I had NOT been informed to which the one guy responded "Pff..This happens all the time." and suggested that I call their manager.

I did not like the fact that this additional charge was being sprung on me at the last minute, but while I was on the phone with Dan the manager, the moving men drove my things to my boyfriend’s apartment. When I spoke to Dan I explained that I had no cash and asked if I could pay by MobilePay. He told me that they had a problem with the MobilePay and that was not an option. I then asked him for an invoice or a way to make the payment online using my credit card or by bank transfer. He told me that he was not in the office and did not have the bank details for me to make the transfer. I then asked him to send me an invoice on Monday morning and that I could make the payment online then. He told me that he does not offer that anymore as he is 30,000 in debt from people not paying when they said they would.

I told him that I did not know what to do at this point as I had no cash and he insisted that the payment could not be made in any other manner. He then told me that I was making this “his problem” that I had no cash. I responded by telling him that he was trying to make it my problem that he would not accept any other form of payment and that he did not inform me of the additional charge when we spoke the day earlier. He then got agitated and started yelling at me on the phone, threatening to not deliver my things.

In the end, I ended up calling my boyfriend to go get cash before the movers came but honestly did not appreciate being talked to/yelled at by Dan. I had no problem with the movers. It is the way that Dan fails to inform customers that they will incur extra charges for late bookings (even though the time slot was offered to me by Dan himself. He should have informed me of the additional cost and the fact that he required cash before we agreed to the booking time. He also certainly should not have spoken to me or yelled at me the way he did.

Like I said, the moving men were fine. My problem is with Dan and the way he runs his business. If you need moving help, I suggest you look somewhere else!
