Normally quite happy to visit Toby Carvery Redhill but tonight was very dissapointing to say the least. The amount of meat was hardly enough to make a sandwich. They had run out of vegetarian bak... See more

I have been going to Brockworth carvery…
I have been going to Brockworth carvery for a month and the carvery I had today was as dry as a flip flop and the meat awful.
A disgusting general manager with an attitude problem
We had a nice meal, prompt service at the Huddersfield Toby.
Myself and my friend are regulars at Toby.
On the 4th March as normal We just get what we can manage to be able to enjoy our meal, and we have never gone up for seconds.
As usual we always have dog poo bags in our pockets which come in handy as for example if roasties are too tough or the cauli stems are rock hard and fat on the meat , and we will take the scraps home for our dogs. Its not alot of scraps because our plates where never overfilled to start off with.
However we did the same as we usually do and when we got the bill they charged us for taking food away, and that this was a 'new policy'. Spoke to Craig the general manager who was disgruntled arrogant and extremely rude shouting at us. Craig would not listen to what we where saying about why the customers had not been informed about this. Oh gosh we have never experienced a manager behave in such a manner, kept calling us 'darling' in the most patronising way. He called us liars he accused us of going up for more food and abusing the carvery. He completely dismissed what we where trying to say and was very sarcastic in his tone and manner.
Craig Does not deserve to be a general manager.

Arrived for breakfast after booking on app, waste of time,.we were not expected and instead the breakfast ordering process wasn’t explained at all,we waited to be seated initially but when no one came we assumed we seated ourselves,I asked a staff member who barely gave the time of day how to order and we were bluntly told to order at the bar and was greeted another equally unfriendly member of staff, o believe we disturbed her private conversations,we were charged and dismissed as an inconvenience, breakfast overall was good, but for a buffet no juice, pastries on offer and eggs always came out over done, when I asked for a condiment that was offered for dinner,my request was dismissed as to much effort to provide
AVOID
We visited the Toby Carvery on Marton Road Middlesbrough last Sunday after visiting family in the nearby hospital, even though they were very busy we were impressed with the choice of meat and veg
Today Sunday 1st March I ordered 2 beef carvery take away meals and this is what I’m giving the 1 star for , it is disgraceful, the beef isn’t the slices they carve off the joint, we have been given the scrap ends from around the joint, it’s stringy and all fat , the veg is also a huge disappointment, we were impressed last week by the choice of vegetables, today we got enough mashed potato for 4 people, some carrots and peas , a tiny bit more cauliflower, where was the cabbage , suede etc ?
I will never get a take out meal again it is an absolute rip off
DO NOT GET A TAKE OUT CARVERY FROM HERE ITS DISGUSTING!!
Just short of £35 to go in the bin !
Going downhill faster than an Olympic Skiier
We have been going to TC for years, it has always been a bit hit and miss, depending on the restaurant. Poole has always been excellent but even they. are going downhill. It’s not expensive in the scheme of things, but the food tonight was pretty rubbish, everything was either dried out, undercooked or gone - no lamb on a Saturday!
all in all a disappointment.
However the waitress was lovely, bless her she was rushed off her feet, I think there were only 2 for the whole restaurant.
Not sure if I will ever go back to TC 😟
Toby Carvery Rooley Lane Bradford
We goto the bradford branch Rooley Lane, I was greeted by Jack who was polite and very helpful! He took me to my favourite booth got us drinks and cutlery and napkins straight away was very friendly and couldn't be more helpful if he tried.
Jacob was behind the carvery serving today polite and lovely as he always is, was not tight like some of people can be and it was absolutely beautiful food tonight, hot cooked to perfection. My husband and I really enjoyed the food the atmosphere and service was outstanding well done guys you have done yourself proud
No drinks, beef fat with blood, disabled toilet not flushing
This is Toby at whitewebbs in Enfield. We were not offered any drinks with our meal. Some of the beef given was fatty and bloody and only exchanged when the customer next to me said that he did not want beef if it was fatty with blood. That bit should have been cut off and not given to a customer. As a result the chief exchanged beef. The exchanged bit was lovely but they should not give me fat with blood in the first place! The disabled toilet had not been checked as the toilet did not flush-no staff to report it to. We paid for the roast only very very unhappy and very dried up as no drinks, although other people given drinks……
Very poor breakfast experience at Toby Carvery Braintree
We decided to try breakfast at Toby Carvery Braintree after it was recommended to us by a member of staff when we visited for dinner previously.
Unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. When we arrived we were simply told to sit anywhere and weren’t given any cutlery. After sitting down we had to ask for cutlery ourselves, and the staff member who responded was quite rude.
The food itself was poor and not particularly enjoyable. We also ordered two coffees which never arrived. It later became clear they had been made but were simply forgotten and never brought to the table.
The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, so the level of service was surprising.
Overall it was a very poor experience and sadly it will be our first and last time visiting Toby Carvery for breakfast.
Very polite
Josh assistant manager was very polite and service was really good. All staff were kind, helpful and polite.
Dagenham Toby carvery

Booked a table for 18:00
Booked a table for 18:00. Got there at ten to and was told there was a delay as the queue for food was very long. We were seated after 20 mins ordered a drink and checked the queue. It was still very long we waited for 15 mins and the queue was still the same length. So we joined the queue after another 15 mins the queue had not moved. So we left. Not acceptable. We should have Ben told when we got there that we would have to wait over an hour.
Toby, Loughborough visit.
Today I took a dozen friends for breakfast, after a refit. Loved that the big step was gone, a wall was now gone and everything smelled fresh. We enjoyed our breakfast's and celebrations. Staff were lovely and so were other customers. A positive experience.
Fantastic service
Demi our waitress was helpful as always nothing is too much trouble for her my mum is in a wheelchair and can be a bit of a handful(inside joke) the chef who serves is always happy and polite they both make you feel like part of there family food is gorgeous.
Visited Toby Carvery Norton Canes early…
Visited Toby Carvery Norton Canes early February 2026. We’ve been there before but decided to sign up to the app and received a discount voucher. Food was ok no issues. When time to pay I had a gift voucher to use as well as the app discount voucher. The server took my card I thought to check the balance but he paid the bill with it without applying the discount. I queried this and was told they couldn’t do anything! I was told to email in which I did. Basically told tough luck come back and use it next time. There won’t be a next time. If the customer service is this poor and they can afford to lose business then so be it. I didn’t even get a reply to my last email. Rude and unappreciative of customers. Here’s me thinking pubs and restaurants are struggling and needing footfall. Just he aware if you have discounts to be apples to your bill that they are in fact applied.
After reading various not so good…
After reading various notes so good reviews I felt the need to have my say. Had a great visit to Toby Carvery Hemel Hempstead on Sunday 22nd Feb and just wanted to say how brilliant Preston was. He was really friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Service like that makes all the difference!
He’s a real credit to the team and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks Preston!

Dry, crusty lukewarm food. Meat quality & choice very poor and very minimal. Service very average. Dining areas need a good refurb. All round a very poor experience.

Made breakast very enjoyable:)
Unfortunately I can’t review the food
Unfortunately I can’t review the food, as I didn’t have any. Issue surrounds the confusing Toby policy regarding pets. Either you accept them or not. The “contact the individual establishment “ only works if you actually get a reply. These premises obviously deal in smoke signals and pony express as 6 attempts to make contact had no response. I accept that some eateries don’t want “animals” present, so we went to clarify. I stood outside with our attack miniature cockapoo while my partner went in to ask if the dog could come in. If the answer was in the negative we would have said thanks, maybe look at your communication systems and been on our way, but no, joy unbounded😀 A “manager” said that’s okay as long as you sit in a snug area by the fire and order at the bar. So in we go, full of the joys of an oncoming spring, up to the bar to order, pooch safely ensconced under the table, to be told, “No bar orders tonight, I’ll speak to a manager”. Another manager comes and asks if this is an assistance dog.? No. Then we are not dog friendly off you go. What about the other manager saying we could? Different managers come from different places with different rules. Also, being told there are Toby carvery’s all over the country with differing rules, do you want me to head off driving to find one that has a sign saying, “We are dog friendly “ a fact you stated your establishment doesn’t have, whoop de doo for you, maybe try answering a phone once every solstice! So beaming with embarrassment we made our outside, prompting another customer to, waiting in line to say, “ridiculous, look at that pup”. Actually it’s not ridiculous, I quite understand if places don’t want pets in their premises, however, set clear rules, answer queries promptly and don’t embarrass or humiliate customers.
Toby carvery Redhill
Toby carvery Redhill, I'll start with the positives, restaurant very pleasantly decorated and ambience good, staff very helpful too. The food however was cold, the beef very gristly, the roast potatoes were very hard and the veg just mush and just about edible. It may be a different story if you go to a Toby as soon as it opens when the food would be hot and fresh! There were 4 of us and although we eat the food we all said the same. We had puddings, one apple crumble and custard which they said was lovely but avoid the lemon sponge which 3 of us had and returned as it's absolutely nothing like lemon sponge, it was extremely dry, no lemon sauce and looked like a Yorkshire pudding, highly recommend you have something else!! Sadly, that was our experience but it may be better for others.
