Zero care for man in his 70s

My father had been trying to sell his flat in a building ran by Together Housing. They promised a certificate in 2/3 days and it’s been over 4 weeks with no one prepared to take responsibility.
My father had been living on a mattress on the floor, with no furniture, no internet connection and no tv service for the last few weeks.
It’s causing a massive amount of stress and frustration while also jeopardising the chain of sales attached to the sale.
No one, will advise of a time scale, all we get is blame passing with not help in sight. Disgusting way to treat people. I’d hate to work for an organisation that cares so little.

Lived in the same flat for 22 years

Lived in the same flat for 22 years, ground floor ,seen my best friend die in here 2005, my mum died 2018 , childhood sweet heart died 2019 , brain tumour, step father 2022 died hit by a van , my uncle died 2023 .. only me left now in the village. I want to move for a new start wouldn’t anyone ?. But according to Together housing my rent arrears have to be paid and I can’t move. Iam now in the process of selling my belongs to pay my rent arrears so I can leave this place however when all money has been paid and I owe nothing, there is no assurance or guarantee of me moving. I don’t want to be in the position of selling my belongings to pay my rent to get absolutely no where. I just can’t believe the hoops I have to jump through in Order just to move. They even said look for a different housing association or register with the council. Where is the care of duty. I have seriously had enough. They just seem to be money oriented and not very professional in what they do

Water running down bedroom wall/ window

Rang the repair number due to water running down bedroom wall the inside of the bedroom wall and window onto my carpet.. This was causing a lot of damage to my curtains/ carpet and wallpaper. Reported the issue to an advisor who passed the job has an emergency . Then I received a phone call saying this not an emergency issue even though this is a repair that was supposed to be fixed … videos will be going on the internet of this issue.

Typical Recruitment manager

Applied for a job which I was unsuccessful with, fair enough. Asked their female recruitment manager for some feed back, which she totally ignore. So ignorant. Typical recruitment agent, useless. Kind of understand why they have a 1.5/5 review status. Total rubbish and glad I didn't get the job.

My mother in law has had constant heating problems since they had the old gas system removed and a heating pump fitted. Leaving her who has just had an heart operation to live in a cold home with no warm water. They come out the fix the problem to have the same issue happen again and again. Totally shameful. Anymore the we will have to take this matter to the ombudsman.

Together Housing are evil!

For 10 years I have had problems with water leaks turning my home into a disgusting, damp, mouldy slum. Together Housing - despite a decade of complaints - have done nothing. Customer service is lousy, nobody ever calls or contacts and Together Housing are spiteful, petty, malicious bullies. I have now been informed I am not allowed to complain as it is a breach of tenancy! Well, Together Housing - I hope you are ready for me and the reporters I am bringing to the Court case.

Disgusting Behaviour

Well, where do I start? OK, here goes...

I moved into a great flat, on a lovely Over 55s estate in Sheffield just over 3 years ago, managed by Together Housing. They soon wanted to turn off the communal heating system due to spiralling gas prices. They lied about it being broken, so they could turn it off and foist air sourced heat pumps on elderly folk - which they essentially get for nothing via a government scheme. Oh, how handy for them!

Anyroad, I suffer from depression and anxiety, and told them that the amount of work involved would be too much (all old radiators and pipework ripped out, walls being drilled through for the new pipes, all and sundry up in the loft etc etc) and asked them to put an alternative system in, ie an electric boiler - and if necessary I'd even pay for the work myself! They declined, and ever since have insisted that I MUST have the heat pump installed, or they'd be seeking an injunction to force entry to the flat, as I was "in breach of my Tenancy Agreement. If granted then they'd then be seeking a repossession order!

Thankfully, due to some of the other properties not being able to be completed, they left mine on the old communal heating as well. Then, after around 18 months, back they came to complete the work. And with it came the harassment!

After turning off the boiler house, I was left with no hot water nor heating for around a month, before one of their employees left a voice message to say that if I allowed them access to install wall mounted convection heaters and a new hot water cylinder then "that would be that, and I'd be under no obligation to have a heat pump fitted!", and as it was a quick job I agreed

Well, you can imagine the relief. It was finally all over... or was it? NO! About 3 months of bliss, workmen long gone, completely out of the blue, I opened a letter from them. BOOM! The stuff they'd put in was "inadequate" and since I'd "continued to refuse" the air pump, the same threats were issued. As I looked at the letter - aghast - I suffered my first ever anxiety attack. I contacted the woman who'd promised me that it would be all over, and she said they were "having a meeting." I didn't hear anything for 5 weeks, then a letter from their legal team, who were like coiled springs, ready to go for the injunction!

So, I managed to arrange a meeting with them, but stupidly went on my own... BIG mistake! It was beyond belief how I was treated. I had a couple of anxiety "episodes", met by not a flicker of emotion. The experience left me in a right state for over a week. How on earth can they be allowed to get away with such behaviour?

So, then I was forced to choose from 3 dates to have a visit to "measure up" for the work, and it was for this Tuesday just gone. I'd got everything ready, but all the stress caused me to suffer a massive anxiety attack. I genuinely thought I might be having a heart attack, so for the first time in my life I had to cancel the appointment and call for an ambulance!

Anyway, I finally got home from A&E 11 hours after the attack, and have been prescribed beta blockers! Of course Together has been busy frantically trying to cover their tracks, including posting the generic, one size fits all replies to previous complaints on this site! And contacting the Sheffield Adult Care Service, without my knowledge and AFTER my day trip to the hospital. I know, scarcely believable! The irony of course is that it was THEM who'd caused all the stress in the first place!

As previous complainants have alluded to, this company needs to be fully investigated, and held accountable. How many other tenants have been conned and bullied? Its obvious, given the apparent scale of widespread abuse by Together Housing, that it is a systemic policy from further up the company. How high is anyone's guess...

Oct 30th update...

Just seen the last two posts, shameful but no surprise of course. My latest deadline for getting back to them about the initial survey for the work on the heat pump installation is tomorrow, Halloween - how ironic given how much of a nightmare all this has been!

A complaint about what's been going on has been made - it's at Stage 1 but when I try to contact them they're "not available", with a promise to get back to me. Naturally they do not. If not resolved then it goes to Stage 2, then if you're still not satisfied you can go to the Ombudsman.

And now for the absolutely unbelievable development...

Remember the horrendous meeting, where I was treated shockingly? Well, the lovely woman from the Enforcement Team (aka the KGB!) is now claiming that during the meeting... wait for it... I'd called her a c**t!! Yet, despite this alleged behaviour by me, she didn't end the meeting and report me, nor think to mention it in her letter summing up the meeting the week after. Instead she waited FIVE WEEKS... AFTER I'd made the complaint. Funny that!

Overcharging rent for years

Just found out that myself and all my neighbours have been over charged rent which has been going on for years. They have been quick to harass me over this 53rd week. Yet theyve been overcharging for years and earning interest on it. It makes me wonder how many other tenants in different areas are being over charged without knowing about it

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I wish I could give this 0 stars.
Their customer care team is awful, in particular the manager Laura. Patronising on emails, blaming me for things I did not ask for. I don’t know how you can call yourselves a customer care team when all you do is side with the builders and not your own customers. There is absolutely NO care what so ever. We first reported our issue at the beginning of April and it is still not sorted, we have no garden and it is a huge mud pit with a stream down the middle. They do not care. Using my personal circumstances against me to blame me for things. Laura is horrible, I asked to speak with her because she is the manager and she is worse. She thinks the world is below her because she is a manager. Absolutely no customer care, I have had to resort to speaking with my local MP and local press. AVOID TOGETHER HOUSING AT ALL COSTS. We bought shared ownership so now we are trapped with them!

Sham of a company

Sham of a company, I’ve made numerous complaints & none ever dealt with professionally. TH workers are abusive but allowed to get away with it but you try defend yourself you get a tenancy warning from a very small nasty little man who thinks he’s the police. Then they lie & lie & lie to try worm their way out as they hate to be challenged. This review is completely true y my own experience. I’ve been hounded by these for years. I put in too move my application was suspended then closed. Repairs are bodged, sub contractors damaged my car also.
Previously money was taken from my esa for rent by another power hungry man. When I realised & challenge it I got it all returned to me.
Another issue I received an email meant for another tenant which had their full detail’s & correspondence she had emailed. So our data isn’t safe.
The joiner van 244 lied he can abuse women so be careful ladies he wouldn’t do this to a man, but then lies to save his skin this incident was witnessed but the Anti social team said the witness didn’t correspond it did.
The vans are supposedly tracked but this was supposed to be checked he wasn’t on my street on the day or times. Again lies as he was FACT! I have asked for proof of this & the full copy of the investigation. I got an email back but he recalled the email sharply so obviously he had written something not correct or inappropriate
The list goes on. Together Housing needs a shake up of their incompetent staff.
Received another email out the blue from a senior complaints person asking to speak to me regarding a complaint but only one when I made several. Pointless it’s all lip service. Everything in this review is completely true.Date I was abused was 7th Mar the joiner suffered no repercussions. Together housing allow this.

Not happy at all I reported my radiators 2 years ago constant banging in the walls and celing told someone was would come in the new year that was 2 years ago . I have a boiler that's been leaking for 6 months got told it was the weather and told to fix it myself and the pressure drops everyday so I have to use the valve to raise it all the time. Needed new radiator valves and still not fixed. Got told a plumber that came to see my toilet wasn't qualified to plunge my toilet and didn't even bring one lol as IF... was alot better when it was chevin they fixed all issues pay service charges for nothing aswell..

Stay well clear

Stay well clear. Nothing but lies from this company. Use contractors to carry out repairs but they never show up. They tell you its not a problem to move if the need arises then tell you after 12 months you cant move. Book a repair through their online portal and it gets lost. Ask for permission for anything and it takes months. Asked me for a letter saying i was a good tenant from my previous landlord and then move me into a scheme of theirs full of nutters where the police are in attendance on a daily basis. Overpriced rents for what is effectively a rabbit hutch. Money taken from my rent account but no explanation why except for my rent payments. Extortionate rent increases and service charges.

Diversity box ticking

Diversity box ticking . Terrible complaints process . They lie to tenants like myself . There probably the worst housing association I've ever dealt with . Luckily Leeds city council have a 6pm -3am anti social behaviour team that come out straight away and warn nuisance tenants and then take court action which I'm very lucky as other parts of country don't offer this . Together have a 1950 s model of pen and paper , backwards company , not very modern for 2024 . No CCTV system s either so crime can go undetected . 0/10 stars for me.
