Lacks basic functionality for a…

Lacks basic functionality for a freelancer like me. For the needs i have, i might aswell use Google Calendar, as it does the job just as good. It has some good stuff in there, but the basics isn't met unfortunately. For example:
Being able to mark time entries as being already billed. I have no idea right now, what i have billed, and what i haven't billed.
Being able to select a "magnet" so time entries lock to fx. 15 minutes. I have to be on the right "zoom" in the browser for it to lock time entries to 15 min, or else it will just lock to 10 minutes.
Not being able to see time entry names of 15 min slots, when "zoomed out" in week view.
Not being able to just mark a time entry to a client - it must have a project attached. Though i solved this by just making project for each client called "Hourly billing". Still hard to keep track of what is billed, and what is not though.
Not being able to add information (like text), to clients or projects.
It feels like you have a lot of good programmers, designers, marketers, supporters, etc. But you don't have a realistic test person to test the functionality out.
Had really hoped this would be my time management tool.

Excellent idea but poor interface

Excellent idea but poor interface. Simple things, like being able to start the timer for a specific client (not a project) is not possible. If you are making shoes for different people for example, are you supposed to descibe the shoe that you are making for each person?! Also, the name of the client is not often visible so you have to dig into the interface to find it. Editing entries is not straight forward when you forget to start or stop the timer. As usual, the software was made by managers for managers without thinking the person using it. Overall, great functionality but poor interface.

Great tool, wish I had found it sooner.

I've been using this tracker for a few months now. I've tried the chrome extension, the web version as well as Windows desktop version and they all work great. Zero complaints so far. Very intuitive and easy to use.

Best Productivity & Income Tracker

I absolutely love this website, no questions asked. It has everything I needed. I started measuring the amount of pocket money I should be earning, by using the income feature, which tracks how much you earn based on the time your track, and your productivity score. I found this extremely helpful, and I totally advise everyone to use it!

My Personal Productivity Mentor

Started to use it a few years ago. From time to time I'm quitting time tracking, but when I want to be more productive, Toggl is my definite choice. Like the cross-platform solution - working in browser, desktop or app, synchronised everywhere. And the week reports, with charts and graphs or even simple tables, are very satisfying. I'm working as single user, but my colleagues are really good in tracking time for their agency work on a hourly basis, and Toggl is the ultimate tool for their work. Good luck to team!

Long-term satisfied user

toggl is very useful for personal and also business-related time-tracking. It's easy to use and get started with. The features are diverse and can be customized to fit your needs. Great for managing time at work, home, and anything in between. The free version packs a punch and offers excellent value. I really like that it has a mobile app also, which allows for never missing any activity. - The only thing that could be improved is the new UI colour theme, which is quite unpleasant but that ultimately is a small matter. – Overall, as a daily long-term user, I can highly recommend toggle to anyone who wishes to increase their productivity and or see how they spend their time.

Pricing

Hi, I've been using Toggl free version since 2011, I use it every day all day; many times I considered upgrading to a paid version so that I could use a couple more of the features, but I've not done so because I believe your subscription rates to be too expensive.
The two features I would have upgraded to be able to use are Rounding, and Report saving. But on the small budget that I'm on I cannot afford $9.00 per month US as I'm in Canada for the use of just these features.
It would be good if you had a pay for features you want to use add on to the free version.
Thanks for listening.

Toggl is a Necessity for Consulting Business

I have a small marketing consulting and graphic design business with a growing client base. I generally have multiple simultaneous projects and need to carefully track my time; without doing so I wouldn't make a living. Invoicing is my least favorite thing to do but Toggl certainly makes it easier. I used a different app for a couple of years but switched to Toggl and I love it. There's a bit of a learning curve for conducting reports but Toggl is and will continue to be my "go to" time tracker.

They would harass you and would not erase your data.

I signed in to learn about the app as it was recommended by the IB Program. But I did not like it. So I wanted to erase the account, I had not used the system and I realized it was not for me.
But before I could check how to erase the account I started receiving emails from the company. So I asked the agent to please erase my account via email. I received an email saying I have to go through the system to erase the account and follow some guidelines. I accessed the guideline and followed the instructions but it was not written how to close the account. So I contacted the agent again, and he sent me a new guideline, as the first one was not going to really help me close the account. When I finally did that. The agent continued sending me emails. I asked him to please erase mi account data from his database and all databases, and not contact me again. I continued receiving emails, saying that the process may take a month or longer.
I felt not only frustrated but harrassed. Terrible practices.

Open, check and go

Best time manager for me!

I am programmer. Several months ago I tried to find application to track time of my working tasks.

The main requirement was - speed of usage. Open, tap and go to work.
So I need application for mobile (android in my case). And of course it should be free.

I checked about 5 different applications before faced to Toggl. Their interfaces were too slow for my requirements. Someone has complex interface and I should spend about 1 minute to create new task (usually they were project or task manager too). Someone has interface with bad usability.

When I found Toggl, I thought "not bad, let's test it in real work". Then I didn't know about many features of this product (even about its web-version, which contains much features than android app).

I had used it several days. And the most features that I detected were convenient for me. Fast creation, fast edit, fast start/stop. It also has very
elaborate interface to view tasks of current and previous days.

When I found Web interface I tuned android application for me much more. Web interface is more featured but its usage is not fast enough for my use case. The only feature which I use in it - reports. It can make reports by task topic. I use it To fast calculate all time of a task which was done several days. I hope this feature will be implemented in android version someday.

I have used Toggle more than 4 months every working day. And I recommend to check this app anyone who use or want to use time tracking.

It does the job, but fails with reporting

I jumped to Clockify because Toggl lacks a feature to group entries in such a way that could compare my different areas of life. That means Clockify allows for example to group by categories or tags.
Android app always has some synchronization issues when put in focus. It starts to irritate.

The service I had been searching for for 3 years

Toggl has been the game-changing app for me.

I had the idea of timetracking for more than 3 years, tried out different methods including manual excel spreadsheets, writing out time data into my physical notebook, resorting to alternative time tracking apps available on the App Store. However, none of them really helped me as they were really difficult to work with: poor UX, buggy apps, too much hassle submitting time entries, etc.

But then as I was again searching for the right time tracker, I came across Toggl which completely changed the way I've been working ever since. Now I can see where exactly my time goes and what I should look at to make improvements accordingly. Thanks to Toggl, my productivity has increased immensely and I've been able to achieve more in shorter periods of time.

So why does Toggl win over other currently available apps in the segment?

1) Easy to set up and use — simply write out your clients & projects and click play when you start working
2) You never forget to track the time as the app will be showing you notifications prompting to start tracking
3) If you forgot to change the project you were working on or didn't specify any project, you can always go back to the specific time entry and assign it to one of your projects
4) You can easily manage your records — the app lets you change the amount of time spent on specific projects by giving you an option to manually alter the time you started and ended working
5) The app is available across all of the platforms I use: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and offers an absolutely fantastic web version.
6) Reporting: for one thing, the app creates beautiful and insightful reports on the amount of time you dedicated to a project/client. Secondly, you can easily export the raw data and use it afterwards
7) Seamless syncing. I should've mentioned it first as most similar apps were absolutely inept when it came to syncing. With Toggl, switching between multiple devices is completely seamless.
8) Idle time reminders. If you left your computer for some time and forgot to stop tracking, Toggl will ask you if the time you were absent should be included into your tracked period.
9) Minimalist interface — nothing distracts you from the actual purpose of the app to track time

I was surprised to find out that the service offers paid plans — the app has NEVER SHOWED ME ANY ADS OR ANYHOW ANNOYED ASKING TO BUY THEIR PAID SUBSCRIPTION, the way most similar apps do. I've checked out their webpage but it seems like I don't need any of paid features. The app does everything I need but if the company ever changes its pricing policies, I will happily start paying to support the service as much as I can.

I strongly recommend to try out the web version too 1) to initially set up your projects and clients 2) and to checks your statistics now and then. Although you can do both in the app, it seems easier to me to do it on the website.

It's been half a year since I started using the app and haven't experienced any issues. I don't think there's been an app lately that could ensure the same level of stability.

I've been using Toggl for 10 years: the best!

I often come into trustpilot.com only to complain for what does not work, here it come a different review

I have been using Toggl.com for 10 (yes! ten!) years, professionally, and I cannot stop from suggesting my friend to use it, so I do it here, too.

The developers at Toggl did really a great job: and this since the very beginning: tracking your time is really easy, and works really well, fast and smoothly: there are various way to track: mobile, web, browsers' plugins end even integration with other web app, but even the very basic web is outstanding: easy and fast!

The PDF reports are just perfect: my clients are satisfied and it helps you to show them, even in job reports, you are a pro!

The support: I did not need it that much, to be honest, but the few time I asked help they have been fast, gentle, and effective.

If you search for a professional time tracker, give it a try and I am sure you'll agree with me: any question are welcomed

Great straightforward time tracking app

Great straightforward app that provides enough options to add details without getting very complex.
I would recommend this app to everybody who needs to keep track of how they spend their time.

I have been using Toggl a number of…

I have been using Toggl a number of years to track and report my time on different clients and projects. There's low overhead in using Toggl, so I find that I track my time in quite a bit of detail which is nice. The reporting is flexible and gives me the overview I need.

It works well across platforms - I use it on Android, Windows, and Mac.

Making adjustments to the logged time (e.g. if forgetting to start timing a new activity) could be easier, but this seems to be improving. In general, Toggl seems be actively developed.
