Shay has been a great help today with my service on my car.

Having spent most of my working life in the motor trade, I know how difficult it is to find a trusted motor dealer that provides excellent customer care.

So it was a very pleasant surprise when I recently dealt with Toomey Vauxhall Basildon. I found that they listened to my needs and did not try and steal my part exchange like most motor dealers do. So we were able to strike a deal in no time at all.

Special thanks to Chris and Dan. In fact, we were so impressed that my wife is considering buying another car from them. Would highly recommend this company.

Vauxhall are very good,I had a problem with my heated seat they booked me in for diagnostic and found a fault ,so they gave me courtesy car while they were finding the problem, the lady who helped me her name is shay she's very polite and professional and helpful she phoned me with any updates I would definitely recommend Vauxhall toomey’s thanks for your help.

EDIT - 12 Sept 2025. An update since my uncomplimentary review I initially left in August 2025.

A senior manager, Daniel telephoned and listened to why I was unhappy. He agreed the service I and Toomey received from the valet company was not acceptable. The bumper scratches Dan agreed to look at again and arranged for my car to be collected and provided me with a courtesy car whilst mine was away.

Paul the delivery chap was excellent, prompt and arrived at agreed times for both collection and return, very professional.

The work undertaken - scratches completely removed from rear bumper and the car given another valet - both were top rate. Everything resolved within 5 days.

I cannot fault how Toomey Vauxhall in Basildon responded positively to my initial Trust Pilot review and why I am now happy to give 5 stars.

Purchased a new 2025 Vauxhall Grandland back in March , which unfortunately took nearly 3 months to arrive (picked up at the beginning of June) - these things happen. KAT (who we dealt with) kept us updated regularly, and made every effort to move things along. She was excellent throughout, and on the day of picking up the car, even went that extra mile to make it feel like a significant occasion (the bow on the bonnet was a nice touch 👍). Couldn’t fault the service and would absolutely recommend.

Absolutely brilliant. Nice vehicles. The staff were extremely helpful and took all the hard work out for us. Great friendly staff. Gavin Harris and Neil were brilliant throughout the purchase. Every we asked for was done and on time.

Sales department couldn't be more helpful. However when there is a problem with the car you bought from them is a hole new different story. Aftercare is terrible. I would never consider buying another car from Toomey group. I would also not refer any family member or friend to this group either. Very very poor

We had the pleasure of dealing with Lewis Culham with regard to buying a Corsa but due to circumstances we decided to lease one. Lewis was excellent in every respect and without doubt we would have bought a car from him had we not leased.
Would always return to Lewis in the future if we were to buy a Vauxhall

Useless garage absolute garbage avoid at all cost 3+ month wait for a 6 hour clutch change. And zero customer service.
